  1. Also note that the choice you make is permanent (for that character). There is no respec'ing of these veteran powers.

Sidekicking Changes: Super-Sidekicking! One player can now sidekick or exemplar the whole team, everyone can always play together!
    • Each player in the group's level is set to the level of the owner of the active team task. If no team task is selected, everyone in the group's level will be set to the level of the team leader.
    • When the team level changes, players will be notified via a dialog and have the option to quit the team or immediately accept. The dialog will time out after 30 seconds at which point acceptance is implied.
    • While in the pending state, players cannot receive rewards and any critters they damage will be worth no experience.
    • Players can choose to auto-accept team level changes 0 to 50 levels above or below their current level.
    • Exemplars will now earn XP and a level capped person will get XP converted into influence like exemplars used to.
    Edit:
I can't find where it mentions you get to keep additional powers up to +5 of your exemplared-to level.

    Edit some more:
    Quote:
This makes no sense as it would mean a lvl 40 could join a lvl 2 sewer team and mop the floor of low lvl bad guys but get the XP of a lvl 40 character.
Well, the normal level 2 players will have the benefit of Beginner's Luck, but your exemplared accuracy will suck. You will have a couple of extra powers, though.
  3. In the past where my team made the mistake of defeating Rommie out of sight of the Nictus, we used to just stand at range and shoot the Healing Nictus. I distinctly recall that it didn't seem to have AV-level regen or possibly any regen (ie its concept relied on its mass self heals) because we were making decent headway on it with just a few ranged people (yay for Nemesis Staff and Black Wand!). Frankly, I figured given enough time, one person could have plinked it to death.

However, recently I tried to attack it solo while the rest of the team argued with each other and the regen was noticibly faster. I couldn't overcome it anymore, so I guess its original regen rate was a bug.

Anyway, one of the players sent in a petition and a GM came to kill the Healing Nictus while we were working on the kill quota.

There was a post by someone a few years ago who did this. Apparently his SG leader and Base designer got quite pissed and vocal about said player's audacity in assuming he could whimsily disrupt the harmonious design of the Base with personal trash.

lame! why are the veteran rewards so lame? like, who cares about extra salvage slots? someone has been playing and paying for 60 odd months and they get this...
Have you tried to seriously make starter capital (influence/infamy) with just one Market and Recipe slot? It's really tedious.
  7. There is a lot of content to do. Although, I'm not that interested in specific content nowadays. Just want to play, try out new powers, try to be the best that I can be.
  8. Hmmm...

    - the Hollows story arcs - while I've joined teams for a few mission here and there, I don't think I've ever taken one character completely through them. I usually stop at Frostfire.

    - Kheldian story arcs - incomplete. I got tired of the Voids.

    - Hami Raids - participated in a couple of the old ones just to see what it was about, but I haven't gone into the new ones. Is the Hami mission in the LGTF the Abyss zone?

    - Abandoned Sewer Trial - tried it 2-3 times, all failures. Gave it up and never looked back. Its set up is too much like the Villain Respec Trials.

    - unlockable Contacts villain side - never made the effort for them. I don't know what most of them look like and am only aware of a few of their names from mentions in the forums. Does hero side have unlockable Contacts?

    - History Badges - I think only one character has one, but I don't know when it got it. That said...

    - Accolades buffs - the only one I get regularly is the TF Commander. I don't have any others.

    - Scrappers - never got one above the low-teens before deleting.

    - Stalkers - never bothered.

    - Peacebringers - haven't tried it yet. I just have one Warshade for the Kheldian archetype and I was seriously thinking of deleting it.

    - VEATS - haven't tried them yet.

    - PVP zone missions - I tried a few, didn't stay for the whole set.

    - Ouroborus TFs - I was on teams for a couple of them, only one was successful. I don't know which it was. I haven't see the others.
  9. The moment after you hit Aim, Buildup, Power Boost, etc, you will be knocked back and possibly stunned.
  10. I noticed this a few issues ago. Around the time they made all Pets easily pushable.
  11. If you're talking about the regular enhancement stores for DOs and SOs, ie not Wentworths or the Black Market, you can right click-->Info to get the description window.

Another thing to keep in mind is that enhancements use a consistant color code scheme: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancement_Colors

I think relative positioning is consistant too. It's supposed to be based on the enhancement's (basic purpose) name, but that got a little messed up when they renamed some of them. The positioning didn't change, though.

In terms of origin, the enhancement's outer ring's graphic indicates which it belongs to. More info: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancement_Names

And if you try to anticipate where the next mission door is by moving yourself to the center of the zone, it will appear back near your previous mission door, if not the same door.
  14. Very often for me, after I pay Rent, my Base's Power unit remains off. Piece o' crap. The quick fix is to sell the Power unit, then buy a new one.

    Edit:
    - this happens in more than one of my Bases, hero and villain side.
    - this happens with both Tech and Arcane, regular sized power units.

This particular mission could be ended by defeating a boss, and a player who had said nothing at all during the debates defeated the boss (who was in or near about the 5th mob) and immediately exited the mission.

The team leader and myself were incensed; this player decided for all of us to end the mission. I see now that the team leader's mistake was not clearly stating how she wanted things to go. She kicked the "offending" player and half the team seemed mystified/exasperated/unhappy with that action. The player himself asked (in tell) a few minutes after why he'd been kicked. Our perception at the time was that he knew damn well why he'd been kicked; thanks to the help from all your replies, I see now that there's a good possibility he actually didn't know, and we were just assigning selfish motivations to his behavior at the time where none actually existed.
I do think you were hasty in kicking him. XP-wise, you'd probably get more from more mission complete bonuses over time than clearing every spawn in the mission, every time. Even if you did specifically state that you were going to do a defeat all for every mission, I'd have given the player the benefit of the doubt as it was probably done out of habit especially since exiting as soon as the mission is done is natural. You and the rest of the team could well have continued to doing your mission sweep without the one player who exited. He'd miss out on some XP and will be well aware of what is expected for the next mission.

In terms of the glowie clicking that most people are focusing on, as an old timer, I don't care about the glowies anymore while teamed. I'm sure they're still fun to do for the new players, but for me, eh. However, I am peeved when someone decides that clicking a glowie has more priority that participating in fighting the enemies guarding the glowie. Finish the fight and then the glowies can be clicked at leisure. This is especially so with the glowies that trigger ambushes.
  16. Aside from a relatively new Blaster that probably got the most levels this event, I spread a lot of my time on my very neglected villains. This includes my henchmen-less Mastermind that was started way back when with the thread about henchmen-less MMs. I finally made it to Stamina. Disclaimer: while I am soloing it per the playstyle requirements, I have been cheating by using my vet buff pet and 3 vet attacks to supplement its piddly, yet high endurance cost, normal attack damage.

All the ones I played got between a couple to several levels. However, I am reluctant to level up too quickly. I haven't spent enough time to work out a good playstyle for some of the new powers. The new Blaster I mentioned, for example, is a Fire/Eng. It is the first non-*/Dev I have created. I have 3 */Dev Blasters. I still haven't figured out how to slip in the secondary's melee attacks seamlessly in to my attack chain. Right now, I still have to make a conscious decision to stop using my ranged attacks even though I have something recharged, just so I can do melee for the hell of it. Frankly, it feels like I have too many attacks, which is quite a change from */Dev.

    Finally Hit 50

Just an FYI, I found soloing my Warshade extremely difficult in the low levels. Had I not already had experience soloing minimally self buffing Defenders and a pre-Containment Controller, I would have given up on the Warshade. The starter attacks (human form) are very weak solo since your AT inherent is team based.

In addition, the Voids that are present once or twice in every mission becomes depressing really quick. At the low levels, you don't have much to deal with their ranged attacks that do special high damage along with pretty much guaranteed knock down (so you can't run or fight back) that will screw you over constantly. Carry lots of purple inspirations and try to close in on them so they switch to the somewhat not so bad melee attacks.

    Edit:
Also it came as a surprise to me, but keep in mind that any Pool powers you pick up (like Fitness or Leadership) work only while you're in Human form. They are not active once you switch to Nova or Drawf forms. However, you'll have so many choices in your Primary and Secondary powersets that you'll have limited opportunities to slip in Pool Powers anyway.

Slotting your powers will require difficult decisions to be made especially if you take Nova and/or Dward forms. You'll have 3 times the attack powers for the same amount of level up slots to allocate. Some people decide to focus on Human form (has more controller-ish powers). I decided to ignore Human form (still had to pick powers in it at times) and concentrate my slots in Nova (blaster-ish) and Dwarf (tanker-ish) for flexibility. You'll will probably come to this decision point yourself.
  19. I'm not going to do anything special this time. For the last Double XP Weekend, I spent the prior weeks buy and crafting to build up inventory, then spending almost all weekend trying to unload everything. I spent more time cycling through all my characters to refill their market slots than playing. It was too much work. Not to mention, that my supposed higher profit bets didn't pay off. I'll try to get rid of some more of those leftovers and do some general garage sales to clear out my storage bins.
  20. I ecked out 100% to join the other 20 people (as of this time).

I know my Main (See forum handle) is doing ok, slotting him slowly but steadily and all, and my Tanker isnt doing too bad...
But my high point was 20 million. Never ever got a purple drop, rarely got a rare that was worth anything, cant even dream of these 100,200 etc millions that people talk about...

And aren't the markets EU-US linked? So server shouldnt matter, irrc
Are you selling your Common IO recipes drops to a regular store (ie not the Market)?
  22. I really only make a point to check the buffer/debuffers to see what their powersets are along with how much veteran time. I like to have an idea of what kind of back up I "ought" to have. I don't actually rely on them to use their powers, but if they do and do it well, I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised. However, if the team is doing badly and I don't see the buffs/debuffs, I'll make a mention of it.

For the damage dealers, I might take a peek, but I don't really care. For very short timers, I might devote more attention to covering them assuming that they're still new to the game. But if a multi-year veteran is acting strange, then I'll keep my distance and assign them low priority.

I don't care about Bio write ups at all.
