    1. I want to be able to search for "For Sale OR Bidding" at the same time.
    2. I want the "other" categories back to the top or sorted into their own lists (Temporary Powers, Costume Recipes, Generic IO)
    3. I want All the stuff you listed too!
    I want color coded buttons:
    - blue buttons when getting Inf from sold items or posted bids
    - red buttons when cancelling posted sales
  2. The Recipes-->Other is still there, it's just that the Recipes category is sorted now, so Other subcategory is down in the center of the list.

And speaking of which, I was very much hoping that they would finally break out the Costume recipes and Temp powers recipes into their own subcategories instead of cluttering up the Common/Generic IO recipes. But I guess it doesn't peeve them as much as it does me.

I agree on the persistent bid amount. Several times, I've retyped my bids due to habit doubled the digits on my bid to a stupendous amount. I've been lucky so far to be able to catch them.

The one thing that really bugs me about this new Market interface is that I can't sort the bottom half of the screen. It wouldn't be so bad if my new bids were on top, but being at the bottom, I lose sight of them almost immediately if I have other stuff. Plus I have to take care not to wontonly click Cancel and accidentally take out something else.

  5. I'm on XP right now. I do have Windows-7 Home Edition, but I haven't gotten around to installing it yet. So I guess I should check it out before spending more money.
  6. I'm looking to replace the back up software I'm using now, Retrospective 6.5 (probably "lite" version), that came with the back up drive I bought years ago. It just spent 21.5 hours doing a full disk duplicate consisting of only 158 gigs. I need something better. What else is good and fast at doing a full disk duplicate?
  7. You can sell IO recipes to your Base's Auto-Doc which still works.
  8. Side note:

In the old days, selling off enhancement drops you didn't need was where you got a major portion of you Inf. With IOs, regular enhancement drop rates were changed, for example, you don't get high level TO drops anymore. Selling Common/Generic IO recipes is where the money is at nowadays (well, outside of rewards from defeats and mission completes, etc). Unlike DOs and SOs where you'd get paid less if you sell them to the wrong Origin store, you can sell recipes to any store for the same price.

Note: at the store's window, recipes are listed on the left side, UNDER the list of the Inspiratiosn you're carrying.

Stores pay more for Common/Generic IO recipes. Set IO recipes are worth quite a bit less at the store. However, with Set IO recipes, you should check the Wentworths/Black Market to see what they're going for there. Some Set IO pieces are quite desirable and players will pay a lot for them.

Note: check how much the Set IO piece goes for if crafted compared to it still in recipe form. Many times, the crafted IO will sell for way more than the recipe. Note however, that this may be partially due to the recipe requiring an expensive rare Salvage piece. Make sure to take this into account.

    Auction House unavailable this weekend

In order to investigate and correct an issue that is currently affecting stacks of items in the Auction House system, the Wentworth Consignment Houses and Black Markets will be unavailable starting today Thursday, April 29th at 1:30pm BST (4:30pm EST / 9:30pm BST / 22:30 CEST) until further notice.

We apologize for this inconvenience and want to emphasize that this unavailability is to allow us to get this problem fixed but also for our players not to lose items in the meantime and cause further inconvenience.

We thank you for your patience and understanding with this matter.

  11. Infinity took a big hit during the Free Server Transfers. Nowadays, it has trouble making it to the center of the list.
  12. I don't use Mid's at all. If I intend to do an upgrading Respec, I use pencil and paper along with the Market. I hang out at the Market to bring up the Set IO pieces to get their attribute boost values. I jot them and add them up.

One other point to consider, I spend time at the Market to see what is actually available and financially attainable. In my mind, setting up a custom min/maxed build with Mid's is just plain fantasy if there's no way for me to actually get most of the Set IOs selected.

I may spend a week or more and involve several of my characters to purchase, craft and store the Set IO pieces before I'd finally commit to using the Respec. Things are a little bit easier now at my established personal SG Bases where I have some of my prefered Set IOs pre-hoarded.

That was a weird answer, since there's the suggestions forum and people can just pm them ideas and questions anyhow.

David Gerrold gives an example why.

  15. Tangent question: Ambrosia

I have heard it said that Ambrosia ONLY has a chance to drop for the team mate who had the kill shot on the Greater Devourers on the bridges at the acid lake. From my experience, the occasions I'ved focused on picking off the riff raff instead of the GDs, I'd get no Ambrosia drops even while dropping AOEs at the GD's vicinity constantly.
  16. I picked up Stealth for the first time in 4 years and its -slow penalty sucks more than I remembered it. Being the experienced player I am now, I allocated 3 slots in Swift. However, even with 3 level 50 Run IOs in Swift it still feels so frickin' slow. I find that most of the time, I'm keeping Sprint on and I know that's sucking endurance too. I've been weighting the possibly of either adding a slot to Sprint (default is filled with a Stealth IO) for a EndRed IO the next time I use a Respec or just ditching it.

    Hello im new

I've participated in several All-Defender STFs (Statesman Task Force), one of the most difficult TFs in the game (hero side). I think I died less in those that on "balanced" teams.

This includes just ignoring Lord Recluse (well, after casting your debuffs on him if you had any) instead of the typical Tank and healer pair trying to keep him occupied while everyone else tries to take down his super-buffing towers. Lord Recluse can pretty much one shot anyone other than a Stone Tank (well actually 2-shot since there's the no-1-shot death mechanism currently in the game). There were a few individual deaths, but no team wipes.
  20. Stealth from the Concealment pool is Cloaking Device with a -slow self penalty. They're mutually exclusive, you can't run both at the same time. To get effective invisibility, you can pair Cloaking Device (or Stealth) with either Smoke Grenade, Superspeed or a Stealth IO.

Don't just pick attack powers and ignore the low or no damage control powers. These are what will more likely to keep you alive than another attack.

Example: Caltrops. Toss it between you and the enemies. It really hoses them up when they try to rush you. They will spend half their time trying to get off of it. In the meantime, you can be filling them full of holes. If they do finally cross enough if it to get close to you, then just jump over them to the other side of the Caltrops patch. Force your enemies to waste time tryin to decide on whether they want to get to you or to get off the patch. If you really want to piss off a Boss, use the Web Grenade on them while they're on the Caltrops.

Example: the Beanbag and Taser combo. Bosses require 2 applications of the same mez type for it to take affect. Both Beanbag and Taser are stuns. Using them in a quick 1-2 combo on a Boss and he's out of the fight for a while. Now you have time to take out the riff raff without the Boss hounding you. When either Beanbag or Taser is recharged, pop the Boss again to refresh the stun and you can keep him out of the fight indefinitely.

You may notice your team mates approaching a large group of enemies and everyone is afraid to be the first one in. If you don't neglect your controls, then you will have the tools to handle almost any situation. Solo if necessary.

I hear something about IOs at 30, but I'm unsure if people mean actual enhancements made from inventions or the sets. Moreover, I'm not even certain what's worth anything when it comes to recipes.
There are 2 types of Invention Origin (IO) enhancements: common/generic/unnamed ones that boosts only one attribute and the named Sets where each piece may boost 2-4 attributes simultaneously. If they're not referencing a specific named Set, then you can assume they're talking about the common/generic ones.

IOs increase in effectiveness with higher level IO. A level 25 common IO is equivalent to a -1 (yellow) SO. So generally, any IO higher than 25 is equal to or better than an SO. Since IOs don't expire like SOs, and if you were doing OK with SOs (like in the old days), you can use level 30 IOs (ie equal to really green SOs) until you're 50.

If you're not concerned about switching over to using Set IOs, once you reach 50 and have Inf to spare, you may want to upgrade to the level 50 common IOs and maybe save a slot here or there. Two level 50 IOs (of the same type), will bring you to just below where ED comes into play. So if you think a few % points isn't enough to justify allocating a 3rd slot, you can use 2 level 50 IOs and put that 3rd slot somewhere else.
  23. I only transfered one character, but it was really to mule over some Set IOs and rare salvage to a new character at a new server. My brother, who doesn't play much anymore, noticed he had inherited leadership in a hero-side SG. I didn't have any characters there, so I made one to take it over. This was a couple of weeks prior to the Free Character Transfer grant, so my new character was at the point where I'd usually switch to Set IOs. Unfortunately, the inherited Base wasn't stocked and I didn't have enough Infl or Market slots to do some serious long wait buying. The transfered character was a lowbie hanging out at a personal SG where my storage bins needed thinning anyway.

The global channels I monitor hadn't changed. I already had some characters at this server villain-side. The rest of my characters are still where they are and I still keep an eye out for TF and PUG recruitment activity there.
