Quote:Back in the day, I was planning to make a character named Arbiter because of this song. Unfortunately COV came out and shot that idea down, or fortunately as the case may be because I didn't want to be a copy cat.Sorry. Anytime I see a name like Arbiter <name>, I immediately think of someone completely lacking in imagination. I would be hard pressed to think any player came up with Arbiter before CoV was released to Beta.
(though it is possible, of course) -
Man, how do you guys have enough extra slots to dedicate 5-6 of them to Stamina? I usually just run with the standard 3 Common IOs. A character would have to be really, really sucking wind all the time for me to put the 4th slot for the +end one.

In simplistic terms, what's the difference between phased and intangible?

Blue_Centurion is talking about the Combat Attributes mini-monitor window: see example (right side, above my Insps tray)
Again, on your powers tray's header bar, hit the "Powers" link to bring up the Powers window. Then hit the "Combat Attributes" link and you'll get a big window.
The Combat Attributes window shows all of your stats in real time.
If you right-click a particular stat, you can add it to the mini-monitor window. You can move it to where ever you want on your screen. You can monitor up to 10 stats. White stats are default/normal. Green is buffed. Red is debuffed. Blue is the capped value (doesn't show the extra). -
Describe what pieces your saved costume consists of, in particular, that's used on the upper body and back.

If you need a Prestige infusion (whether you decide to migrate or stay), check with Fulmens and see if he's still offering.

I arbitrarily started on Infinity and it was my main server for many years. I've got character colonies on 4 additional servers now, so I rotate around and don't really claim a main server anymore. Infinity used to be pretty steady as the 3rd most populated NA server. Unfortunately, its population took a big hit when free server transfers were given out last year.
You can see the server load by the server's position in the server selection screen. Note, server load doesn't necessarily equate to player population, but it's close enough since that's all we have to go with. The top most is the last server you were on. Second from the top is the least load and the bottom most is highest load. Of course, this is all relative to time of day. Nowadays, you'll generally see Virtue and Freedom vying for most load, followed by the new Exalted (VIP-only) server.
I believe the Justice server is welcoming Aussie/Oceanic region players to establish itself as their unofficial server. -
It was FIXED !!!

Sorry DE, but I also read your sentence as:
Quote:I got CoH:CE AFTER i21, no issue, no time and no items on my account. -
Quite a few of the video drivers ATI released this year were crap for COH. See if you're using one of them from this list.

Can you reposition the mouse-over tool tip to be further away from the cursor?. Right now, it appears under the cursor and the cursor is "in the way". Not a lot, but it is disconcerting.

Quote:Just to toss out an anecdote, I was part of a TPN run on Infinity this weekend that was successful. It was my first, so I didn't know what the hell was going on.We may have a lead as to what's causing the issue. To those who have experienced this bug, are you able to confirm whether the entire League was inside the station building immediately prior to the final battle?
Anyway, I got tired of getting ganked by Maelstrom and was looking to get into the 3rd building. Most of the "interior" group was already in, so I was just trying to find it by clicking doors. I had finally spotted someone returning to the door, I assumed from the hospital, when Maelstrom one-shotted me again with his cheating tp-kick.
I didn't go to the hospital immediately because someone else was trying to find the door, so I offered them my body as a waypoint. Maelstrom got him first. While I was waiting for him to get out of the hospital, the "interior" group finished and came out. So for this data point, our league was both inside and outside at the time the 3rd building's phase was completed. From then, it was just pile on Maelstrom along with learning how to avoid the Marked for Death gimmick and the Trial finished with no issues.

After you log in, does your ID and personal info windows show "Very Uncommon" too? Really strange.

Steamy Mist and Shadow Fall used to make skirts transparent too. It's been around so long that I haven't thought about noticing if they still do it.

Personal anecdote:
I had similar circumstances in the past. My computer started to not boot reliably, but all the fans and lights came on fine. It'd boot up if I persisted in powering up and down a few time. And during troubleshooting, I also found one of my RAM sticks seemed to have gone bad. That is, leaving it in would pretty much guarantee a blue screen, with uptime depending on which slot I had it in. Eventually, the system just wouldn't boot anymore (with fans and lights still good). I had to change out the motherboard. Unfortunately, I had just bought a set of replacement RAM, and being a cheapskate, I decided to buy a same-ish replacement motherboard. In hindsight, I should have just ate the cost of the set of new slower speed RAM and upgraded to a newer motherboard with faster RAM to stretch the life of my system.
Edit:
The motherboard of a prime suspect from the beginning, but I was trying to avoid having to replace it for as long as I could because I knew it was going to be a real hassle. However, I came across some posts about burst capacitors and as it happens, I did see the tops of several of my motherboard's capacitors bulged and cracked. Once the motherboard refused to boot, there was no escaping reality. -
The first sunset that really caught my eye was way back on my first character. My brother and I had entered Talos for the first time, coming in via the Skyway gate, and we were doing some exploration. Both of us being newbs didn't have any travel powers yet, so we were just jogging. It was during our jog up the long over-water highway towards the main island of Talos that the sky was becoming very orangy-red while off in the distance, the towers of Talos were faintly rendered. It brought to mind a melancholy post-apocalyptic feeling where we were the only ones left around in the world.

Quote:Actually, I just took another look at Spectral Terror and it doesn't accept -tohit enhancements, just fears.

Beam Rifle has a similar power: Piercing Beam. I have seen it hit 3 targets occasionally, but it's tricky to set up. Essentially my technique is to step back as far as I reasonably can (you know, during the heat of combat) to maximize the cone at the target area. I will note that I have a Range IO in it. Of course, it works better if the targets are in a tight cluster of more than 3

I don't do concept or story/roleplay characters. I make characters to try out a powerset that I haven't used yet. So I tend to focus on that character during its development. If I wanted to explore several powersets at the same time or I was starting in a new server, I may make 3-4 characters of different archetypes to have a variety available. I don't really have a main character, but depending on the TF or team, I'll bring whichever character would be most flexible for the job.

Quote:That's all? I've seen them ignore Taunt after doing the shout.Don't the Cimerorans have a resistance buff to mezzes?
Just checked paragonwiki, the Lieuts & Bosses do have the ally buff...
Shout of Command Ally +Res(Disorient, Hold, Sleep, Immobilize, Terrorize, Confusion), +Perception
Anyway, as for Spectral Terror, I would suggest using it anyway because it has the pbaoe -tohit debuff. -
The "problem" is that you started on the Freedom server. Freedom has a strong farming and powerleveling mentality. If you go to other servers, you won't be exposed to so much of it and subsequently, you won't feel that you're doing something wrong or missing out by not farming or powerleveling.
This game is very solo friendly. Of course, being a MMO, teaming is encouraged, but you don't have to if you don't want to. You do level up a lot faster by teaming, but then you will also outlevel your enhancements quicker. So you may be pressed with financial concerns about the need to replace them. Thus you may want to try to take it slower and solo a bit. See the sights and read the mission stories that you're missing out on because the team is always rushing through.
Speaking of rushing, there's no need to. Without being a VIP, there's not much to do once you reach level cap. Once you get to level 50, you then have the choice of retiring your character and starting a new one, or use the Oroborus "flashback" system to replay all the story arcs you skipped past, or exemplaring down do do the Task Forces you skipped past, or just general teaming. You're not going to pick up any better loot that you are probably already using. Most of the real loot in this game requires Auction House access (which you'll have to pay for) or the Incarnates system (which you need to be a VIP for). -
Have you tried bringing your old hard drive to Microcenter to ask them to copy it over to a portable hard drive? If you don't have a portable hard drive already, borrow one from a friend or, worst case, I'm sure Microcenter would be happy to sell one to you.
