I got 5 influence says...
Issue 12: "The Coming Storm"
You heard it here first. -

Good stuff... but a nitpick... shouldn't the sword on Ms Liberty be removed... since Hero 1 is, ya know, holding it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but there's no way to do it without resorting to Photoshoping and my skills there are weak. Past such attempts resulted in something that looked worse, not better.
I played around with trying to get a good angle on her that would help hide the sword, but didn't come up with one that I thought was an improvement.
The angle on the sword also isn't the best, as it isn't exactly parallel to the plane of the camera, so it looks a bit shortened due to perspective; but that was a trade off to have Hero 1 at an angle where I could get a bit of a back sweep on the cape so you could see at least a little of the Union Jack pattern. -
This redux goes out to Tidbit_Jr. This was exactly what I wanted (I was just drawing a blank on the MoG MOV last night):
Excalibur Reclaimed (Revisited)
This copy of it is also sized for a Splasher login. Looks pretty good, I think. -

We have a Hero 1 NPC model?! >_>
GREAT picture. The only thing that'd make it better is if he was doing the MoG pose with it, in my opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll give the MoG pose a try and see what I come up with. -

And if some think they're fun already, then what?

Raids for some, miniature American flags for others. -

I've been in business units involved in acquisitions before, both as the acquirer and as the acquired. This could go very well for us as subscribers, very poorly, or unnoticeably. Judging by statements to effect of "we've got big plans" I don't think it will be unnoticeably.
I'm leaning toward hope over despair. In my experience, being acquired by another business unit that has in the past been intimately involved in your major efforts, if not your day-to-day operations, means the acquirer is coming into the deal with their eyes open and few or no misconceptions. When said acquirer also brings deeper pockets than yours and Ideas™, then exciting times are almost certainly ahead.

I think the difference worth pointing out here is that if this weren't taking place, you'd have the conflict of interest created by MUO hanging over the future of CoH like the sword of Damocles. That would have been the road of certain despair (and DOOOOOOM).
Exactly where the branches lead from here remain to be seen, of course, but I think it is the necessary way to go for the possibility of a good future for COH. -

Also, can Balshor's Demo Editor be downloaded anywhere?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think so. I've been looking for it the last few days and all the links are kaput.
I think Zloth is the last man standing. -

Guides get necro'd often because people who never originally read them find them listed in the Guide to Guides, read 'em, and comment, not realizing how old they are.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was just trying to make a joke ("lazy" guide --> kept putting it off). But I guess it failed. -

/e looks amusedly on as Miladys_Knight practises necromancy.

Oh my goodness.
Resurrecting a thread after two and a half years takes some.... something...

They were going to post a reply 2 1/2 years ago, but kept putting it off... -

Another possibility may be that you have more than one of your characters attached to the same model ID (that sounds like it if some are popping in an out). If you look at the segment of code that defines each player character in the demo, it will start with something like this:
[ QUOTE ]
0 43 NEW "Super Dude"
0 43 COSTUME 0 000000 8.516483 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873 -0.015873
0 43 PARTSNAME Tight Metallic Tribal 000000 00007f
0 43 PARTSNAME Tight Metallic Tribal 000000 00007f
etc...
[/ QUOTE ]
That number "43" is the ID number for that character and is used to identify everything in the demo associated with that character. It must be a unique number for each different character, so make sure you aren't reusing the same ID for different characters that you are pasting in.
If you want to hide the names, just take the name field for each character (0 43 NEW "Super Dude") and make the name blank (a space or nothing). It's been a while and I'm going by memory right now, but I'm ivory soap sure that works. -
A little bit of feedback:
I happened to log a low level onto Triumph Sunday in Atlas Park.
And, oh boy, was the chat "griefing", spamming, insults, and abuse I happened to log on to was horrible. Seemed like a bunch of people with reactivated accounts logged back on just to harass other players knowing that they didn't care what happened to them or their accounts. -
Havok is back and tanking!
I probably sound like a serious old-timer, but that just gives me the warm fuzzies to see. -
At one point, I (briefly) began compiling MOV-model associations, but I stopped when I did some quick math and realized that the volume of data would push the codex over the limits of the freebie web account I'm running it on. I admit I also deliberately kept things to a scale I expected to be able to reasonably maintain.
It's not exactly what you're looking for, but I can think of a tool that might help: Circeus's demo analyzer. If I'm remembering correctly, this will, for a single demo, show all the MOVs associated with a given model. I don't recall if it also links MOVs and FXs, but I think it might give you enough timestamp date to extrapolate that.
Like I said, not exactly what you're looking for, and will still require you to parse demos through it to build data, but it might help you start building a list if you haven't found anything better.

There's also an "Oberation Oscillthruster".
-
Glad to help.
Got her to pose with a little demo editing. Just did a quick demo of Positron in SC and then substituted her model in for his. -
Well, here is Overdrive from the mayhem missions (and I also think I remember her from the villain cape mission). Not sure if it's what you're looking for since I don't see any pattern on the cape.
-
There's a Mayhem Mission hero named Overdrive. That the one?
-
There's also already a bunch of guides that talk about how to do it (links below).
Generally, folks use the /demorecord function to record what they want to capture, then playback the demo while using a video capture tool like FRAPs. You can just record directly from the game with a capture application, but using the demo function give you more control, better performance usually, and also allows you to edit the recorded demo to customize the movie. Alternatively, the demo playback also has a dump function that will output to a series of screenshots at a fixed FPS which you could then import into a video editing tool (bypassing having to use a capture tool).

I guess you'd have to use the mission drop feature, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hopefully, that's been thought of.
I'd imagine that something like that would take place automatically, without forcing you to use your personal drop. -
Check out Zloth's FAQ. That should get you started.
