*pops out of a hatch in the floor*
*after several seconds of bobbing randomly in place it becomes apparent that it's really just a cleverly constructed Jack-in-the-Box style dummy made to look like Schismatrix*
Hi, i'll be showing up later. -

For Lovecraftian themes meets espionage meets tech geeks i recommend the Bob Howard - Laundry series by Charles Stross.
For all around epic space opera with interesting premises and characters i'd recommend the Revelation Space books by Alistair Reynolds and the Culture novels by Iain M. Banks.
Honestly i like everything i've read by those authors. -
Ah. Well this thread about Time Bomb largely takes the position that it's one of the least optimal powers for Defenders. And even it has those who defend it.

Quote:*waves* Ooh! Me! Me! Mememememememe!!!Hello all of CoX forum go-ers, I've been reading the forums now for a while and seen alot of "best" and "over powered" and "flavor of the month"...but lets change the picture a little bit. What is the "worst" and "under powered" and "least played" combos of the game.
I know there is no such thing as the worst combos because everyone plays a little different so take tht as loosely as possible
Thanks for all your answers and suggestions
Oh wait, you mean ATs, don't you? My mistake.
*runs back out of the thread flailing like a Muppet*
*sticks head back in*
For what it's worth, Energy Melee/Energy Aura is frequently considered one of the worst combos. Still quite playable, so i'd say that PEBKAC/n00b is the worst combo in game.

Quote:Yup.The problem is, which range are you going to use? Each power can have a different range. On my blaster, my sniper attack has a 150' range, another attack has an 80' range, a third attack has a 40' range and the attacks in my /NRG secondary are all melee range (7'). And if I have some range enhancements in some, but not others, that's going to change things even more.
Quote:You could always hit follow, queue up the attack, and then the attack will fire as soon as you're in range. Once the animation starts, tap a movement key to get out of follow mode. Of course, if the enemy moves you might find yourself out of range again - at that point you'll have to move again.
It's not what you're asking for, but it's about as close as you'll be able to get with the system we've got. -
Quote:i think that Pocket D should have at least one complete song, if not an actual playlist.I think the music in Pocket D should be replaced with Okey Dokey by the Incredible Bongo Band. The groove is epic.
Of course in my opinion this song actually sort of fits an interdimensional nightclub.
Although this song somewhat suits the setting of Pocket D as well. -

Quote:As previously suggested stop in the Pinnacle forums and get hooked up with some global channel goodness. And so many e-mails to clear out @_@
As the title said, I haven't played in two years, but now I'm back. What are the critical things I need to know?
Most importantly - where is everyone? I enter Atlas Park and it is dead. Not 'kind of quiet' dead, but 'not even people spamming for contests or sewer team' dead. Am I in the wrong zone, or is my 'home' server (Pinnacle) just dead?
Praetoria and 50s are currently the big thing. (Also mentioned.)
If you can afford it and haven't gotten it yet i seriously suggest getting Going Rogue. Lots of fun possibilities in there beyond Praetoria and Incarnate stuff. Hero and Villain merits or being able to join teams on either side is a lot of fun.
Prices on the markets are a lot higher than you remember i'd imagine. Just remember that that also applies to the stuff you sell in addition to the stuff you buy.
i'd point you to some threads discussing game changes over the last couple of years, but i've had a long day and my search-fu/link-fu is shot. Here and General Discussion has had some good threads recently. Try to take some of the drama with a grain of salt. Especially any posts by me.
Mmm, recently returned after two years... advice... oh yeah! Avoid the brown acid.
Go. Play. Have fun.

My two current Incarnates went Cardiac for the end reduction and range boost. Then again they're both VEATs (Crab and Widow) who've dipped into the leadership pool and were already softcapped (the Widow averaging 60%) before going Incarnate. Heavy usage of ranged AoE and leadership toggles made Cardiac the clear choice for those two. Especially considering at least 40% in accuracy set bonuses and most attacks ED capped for damage in addition to double Assault.
My KM/DA Scrapper may eventually go Nerve. -
Quote:Sadly this is true. i especially pine for the option of pulpy corpses. (i was probably one of the few who would use rifle butts, pistols, and grenades on Covenant corpses in the original Halo game to make glowing graffiti from their blood.)Reality has absolutely no place in this game. Otherwise, I expect to start seeing charred, dismembered, and pulpy corpses the next time I go take out a group of thugs.
Luckily the falling damage we take has nothing to do with reality. Not only can we fall far greater distances with minimal damage, we can't be incapacitated by the fall, even from the most extreme heights. At worst it leaves us one hit point from requiring medical care.
This is far more more forgiving than most games and almost all superheroic fiction i've ever read that took place anywhere that has gravity. Never taking falling damage at all would be completely counter to the genre. The fact we take so little damage is counter to most superheroic settings.
