Quote:A Mensa convention, eh?So why not make this simpler and just say "+1 AT lft" or for those who have the new shifts "+2 AT lft" or "+3 AT lft." Its not like anyone except for Incarnates can have level shifts.
What why are you all looking at me like a mentally handicapped person at a Mensa convention...? I will be able to apply logic to an arguement on the internet someday.

No, but salt, curry sauce, vinegar, mayo, and mustard all do.
Also, they should be called frites or chips.
Also this. -
The more i see about the new series the more interested i am in seeing it. It already looks to be far better than the original in terms of art, animation, voices, and storytelling/writing. And that's based on the little i've seen so far.
i did like some of the character designs from the original series more than the new one, but overall i think the new one does it better. -
Incarnate powers gained since i20 launched:
Judgement: 51%
i've been playing mostly lowbies the past couple of weeks and have only done the BAF twice. -

Quote:i disagree, but then i mostly play buff/debuff characters. i do agree with the other players posting here who have also pointed out why they disagree with you as well. Still, you have your opinion and i have my opinion. My opinion makes me look forward to playing the game while yours apparently does not. i think i'll stick with mine, thanks.I like playing support characters. You are describing a game in which players no longer need support.
I was just on a PUG group where my offer of Accelerated Metabolism was laughed at. Then a scrapper cast a Destiny buff that was about 10x better.
This is terrible game design. In my opinion it will be the end of this game. It's certainly diminishing it for me. -
Quote:That was snark? i thought he was just being... well... him.I can assure you Local Man is quite literate and educated. But thanks for adding the the discussion, Snarky McSnarkleton.
A quantum superposition of being simultaneously denser than neutronium and less substantial than interstellar hydrogen.
Either way i may take a look at the book. While i honestly prefer the style of authors like Alastair Reynolds, Warren Ellis, and Tsutomo Nihei for general reading i have enjoyed some Mercedes Lackey novels.
So... how is it, anyway? -
Quote:Not really. The reasons given were two-fold:
1. Any content they make for the new 10 levels will be played through within the week. That's content which will take them months if not a year to design. It's a battle that they cannot win.
2. Players already have too many powers. Giving them even more powers and, more than anything, more slots, makes the entire build system irrelevant, as it removes any semblance of choice when you can have everything and slot it to full.
Their solution to the former appears to he "Oh, well!" and their solution to the latter appears to be to give players more eccentric rewards than just new powers and new slots and more hit points..Quote:That doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen them say. They've always said it was about the time invested in something like that to create something people would burn past in a matter of days.
What you're describing sounds more like why they said they wouldn't increase the fly speed cap, not the level cap. -
Quote:Well, the free slots appeared to be fixed last night, but maybe that was temporary. There is allways going to be more to an emergency shutdown than what they say. Zwillinger said something about free slots being accidently handed out. AND someone mentioned peeps getting auto-Alphas when logging in a 50. SO, most likely: 'Sploits!?! That's a pluggin'. :P
Honestly, considering the large changes to some of the core game systems that i20 brought what with leagues and the other new mechanics i'm not surprised that there are some serious bugs that didn't show up until the issue hit the live servers. Annoying, yes, but not really surprising.
i think it was in something like issue 3 or 4 where the first week involved constant rubberbanding and frequent zone and/or server rollbacks. As well as hotfixes being rushed live. And that issue didn't have as many obvious changes to game systems.
i always expect increased downtime and gameplay glitches the first week after any game releases a major update. -
Quote:Hey, if Venture likes it it's automatically better. If he doesn't it's just a bunch of stuff that happened. It would have been different. I'm not sure better applies.
And Praetoria's invading. What more possible reason would you need to go there and kick some Praetor tail?
Venture is the objective standard by which all subjective opinions about storytelling are measured.
i mean, sure, the Praetorians attacking Primal Earth is all the reason most of my characters would need to take the fight back to Praetoria, but that lacks the Venture panache. Heathen. -

Quote:In a sense i agree with you. That is to say that both statements are true, but currently they are not true at the same time.In before "lrn2play"...oh, dang.
Lambda was sold on being completable with an 8 man team, and the raid system is designed for PUGs. From what I saw those two are simply mutually exclusive.
You can do it with an 8 man team or you can do it with a random PuG, but until more people become familiar with the tactics needed to succeed it's silly to expect to do it with both at once. -

i'd go with the one i like playing the most.
i suppose having a good costume and biography would help as well. Those who don't care about such things won't notice and those who do will. -
Hey, cut the OP some slack. Apparently he's been eaten by a Stalker and it's probably hard to compose posts while dodging the gastric juices. Imagine the greater difficulty of finding the configuration settings to turn off random capitalization and dadaist autocomplete as well.
i'm sure it's not easy. -

Quote:Definitely not a recent change. Taunt has affected only 5 targets for years. At least as long as i've known how many targets it can affect, and that's at least three years i think.I was playing my tank and charged into a group of mobs and used Taunt. I noticed I was only hitting about 5-6 of the mobs in a huge group. I looked at the power details and to my surprise it only affects five targets now. I don't recall affecting this few before. Did something change recently? Also I checked my Against All Odds and found that it affects 10 targets. Is this normal as well? I wish I could post/paste a screenshot here but I can't.
Against All Odds has always affected up to ten targets. No change there either.
Edit: What the slug said. -
