Quote:*heh* Like i said in my previous post...Probably could have got them in half the time if I was really trying. It's easy, especially if you know how to play and don't waste time on floundering trial teams or FaiLambda.
Maybe i don't know the right people to team with (on two different servers, at more or less random times as the whim takes me), but out of the dozens of iTrials i've been on three have failed. Two of those were BAF. Out of the two trials i actually like Lambda more, but then i run the trials to have fun.
Quote:Because until then, provided obtaining the next 4 or 5 slots are somehow tied to Keyes Island, I have no reason to touch Keyes Island.
Then again i sometimes spend a while toying with grey con mobs using various powers simply to see what sort interesting behaviors i can induce in the game's AI and physics engine. i'll also amuse myself fighting regular mobs in ways that are very inefficient in terms of time to defeat for the same reason. i imagine that's almost as incomprehensible to you. -

Quote:Wait, what?Well I can only speak for myself, but I never found it hard unlocking both sides of the tree while only doing one of the trials.
To unlock all four slots doing only one of the two currently live trials you'd have to get all the iXP for two of the slots by spending inf and threads. That's... not terribly efficient. OTOH it is very J_B. -
My 50 PB had been in semi-retirement for a while and it was only in the last couple of weeks that i started playing her again. One of the first things i noticed was that Photon Seekers have become very aggressive now. As in if there's an enemy attacking me or within about 40' or so when i launch them they usually streak towards the enemy and detonate so quickly i barely have time to see them. Previously (last year?) when i released them they'd usually wander around near me for a while going "derp derp derp" unless i was within 10' or so of an enemy. Even when they headed towards an enemy after following me around for a few seconds it would usually be a dash toawrds the enemy with a pause for a second or two as if they were asking themselves, "Do I really want to do this?"
Since i'd only been playing lower level PBs for a while i have no idea when this buff happened. Does anyone else know? -
Quote:Bearing that in mind, it might behoove you to first have a thread discussing what data fields you should be capturing to return statistically useful results.Quote:Also without specific kill info the number of shards is useless.
"How many enemies did you defeat?"
"Dunno. A whole bunch."
"How long did you spend hunting?"
"Uh, more than an hour and less than a year."

Why'd you even bother to ask?

Quote:Nalrok explains it all. This game is one of the easiest games to group in. Attitudes are what kills communities. Be pragmatic, a few wipes, in coh, are not a big deal.

Quote:"And" not "or" for me.When you play something more that your average mission, do you prefer single instanced trials with multiple goals or taskforces with chained together instances and mission objectives?
Or do you not see a difference between either?
There are differences, but they're not relevant to my enjoyment. -
Quote:Uh, what?I just want to thank the devs who left the Hive on Guardian, instead of staying and making a total mess of a Hamidon Raid.
They enter and chatted a bit, and we responded with how uncool it was for them to interfere with a hami raid and they obliged and left. We then completed it successfully.
Again, thanks for being considerate of those attempting this trial on Guardian.
Unless you're using some weirdly precise and specific strategy anyone should be able to participate without "making making a total mess of a Hamidon raid".
Do you really mean that you intended it to be a friends-only private event in a public zone and telling them they would make a mess of it was a way of shaming them into leaving? -

Quote:Uhm, what's an MTX Power?
Travel Temps, Costume Powers and MTX Powers are restored for use in Incarnate Trials.
Lots of nice fixes in this patch. Also, i think it's better to release a buggy fix than to leave Nuketrops broken. Admittedly i am slightly sad that i never got any alts with Caltrops Incarnated out with Reactive before the expected fix appeared. -

i don't have the link handy, but shard drops are on a per-critter basis, and every time a critter is defeated everyone who is eligible for a shard gets a roll. If all the members of a team have the alpha slot unlocked they could all get a shard from a single critter defeat. Like many other drops higher critter rank increases the odds of getting a drop.

Have been sick the last several days so i was sleeping for a while. Then i made myself some dinner and played CoH for a while after scanning the news for anything that suggested actual Judgment-ish events had occurred anywhere. Unsurprisingly there was nothing.

Quote:Actually, i don't recall exactly when it was (other than that it was before the invention system was added), but i was on a team of 5 that decided to take down Lusca since she was near the mission door we had exited. It took a while, but we didn't have any team wipes. i don't recall the exact team composition anymore, but i'm pretty sure i was on my D3 and there was at least one Blaster and Tanker on the team. i think one of the others was Radiation Emission, but i can't say that with any certainty. i just remember being surprised at how easily she was defeated by a team of 5 heroes in the mid to late twenties level range.Poor old Lusca.

Kids these days got it too good. Back in my day, it took three full teams to take down the squid. And you'd still end up with two and half levels of debt. Now any old team of silly names can take it down with no faceplants and without even using insps.

The other half is tapping into Charlie Sheen's logic engine.
Be warned, lingering effects of doing so may include migraines, constantly assuming (which really annoys ming), and making baseless assertions long after you've already had why they're baseless explained to you. -
Quote:Eh, you might think that with all your edumacations and understanding of basic statistics (we're talking high school level stuff here, not college level) and your readin' comprehensions and all that guff, but he KNOWS the answer in his heart and soul, which overrides and invalidates complimicated stuff like basic mathematics, testing, and basic logical principles. When you KNOW something even the person who created the thing in question is less informed of the TRUTH than you. Evidence and reason is trumped, nay, invalidated, by KNOWING.You may HEAR what I'm saying, but clearly you don't understand it. Ten runs is MEANINGLESS to judge randomness.
KNOWING.
So there. -
i'd go with this one, but probably do it in reverse order.

i used to have a zombiefied looking Corruptor named "meat gone bad" on Freedom that i deleted to make space for a more serious alt. So that name is available.
-
It started off fairly promising, and i thought it was going pretty well all things considered until people started bailing after one partial wipe.
i'll try to make the next one. i'll probably bring a more buff/debuff focused alt. Probably a Rad or Dark. -
