Quote:i like his art as well, actually like it quite a lot, but i still feel capable of critiquing it.I love David Nakayama art too much to say something bad.
Maybe Sister Psyche should not be that surprised and she should wear the shoulder rings, but I love this comic loading screens, I cant wait to see new ones added to TFs and Trials.
While the skin tone on BAB makes sense in light of some of the explanations given the overall effect of that combined with the angle and style of his depiction in the image makes him look quite Hispanic or Asiatic.
i still think Sister Psyche's expression is inflaterrific. *shrug* -
Quote:So one day job location in Nova and Neutropolis, and two in Imperial City. Employment in Praetoria is hard to come by.Praetoria is very limited in day jobs.

Quote:It also implied that they wore armored boots while wearing armor nowhere else. Here i was guessing it was so that their ruffles, lace, and bows wouldn't get rumpled by the armor. "Ah, the sacrifices and risks we endure for fashion."I think Vanden was making some kind of attempt at humor, as though men who hid their flesh behind protective metal were pansies while the crazy Scots and Germans that ran at their enemies buck naked while their skin is painted green or black respectively were "real men."

Quote:If it takes many times longer then it's not viable. Why is it not viable? You still get the same stuff, it just takes longer.
If you can unlock the powers in a couple days play by doing trials, but it takes months of play time to unlock the powers without doing the trials (assuming comparable amounts of play time per day) then the latter path is not particularly viable from a psychological standpoint.
The difficult part is nailing down what multiple of increased time is considered viable. -
Quote:i'm also having a problem seeing the connection between raids and a strong social environment considering what the community is like in every other game i know of with a heavily raiding-based end game. To be fair, the 900 kilo gorilla of the lot had a pre-established community from its previous games, so it's hardly fair to say that a raiding emphasis in the end game is what makes its community what it is.Can you explain it to me? I really do not understand why the devs want to get players to play in large scale team events.
Does raiding promote community better than running task forces or standard mission arcs? They keep saying we have the best community in MMO space, but that community was built in a nearly raidless game, so I am having trouble seeing the connection between raids and a strong social environment.
Raiding may not necessarily be detrimental to having a strong community, but i certainly don't know of any examples where adding a raiding-focused endgame strengthened the community. -
That just means they're staying true to Starscream's traditional role of being a self-aggrandizing incompetent. Although to be fair in the original cartoon series every single character was generally deeply stupid. Sure, they might've had ambitious, and in some cases noble, goals, but every single character in the original cartoon repeatedly demonstrated the logical and tactical thinking skills of a concussed stoat with fetal alcohol syndrome.

Not really the same thing at all. Issue 20.5 is a free content update that you get simply for being subscribed to the game. The Devs could've not released it at all and you would've paid just as much. In any event the additions in 20.5 will still be just as relevant and playable when issue 21 is released. SWG on the other hand released a paid expansion just before they made changes to the game systems that invalidated and removed the majority of the paid expansion's content. (IIRC. It's been several years since NGE and i never played SWG, just had friends who did at the time.)

Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that, but it also means that virtually every knight and nobleman in medieval times who even merely trained for combat was gay.

Quote:i like this idea. i can't guarantee presence every single Saturday, but in theory the time should be good most Saturdays for me.Yeah can we get a list of who is coming and on what AT's?
I can come either as a ice/psi blaster or elec/rad troller both level 4.
AT? Hmmmm, good question. -

Quote:Sneaky, sneaky Mod. Here i thought Pacur had suddenly learned to use multi-quoting.Hi Everyone,
As you may notice, this thread has become a bit shorter. This is not because anything has been deleted, but rather because I've been merging a lot of posts that were written by the same poster back-to-back. In the interest of improving readability, please try to reply to multiple posts in the same response, instead of spreading it out over multiple posts.
Thank you all for your passion and your contributions to the community!
Sincerely,

IIRC they were actually small blue-white balls of light. Not all that different in appearance from the wisps in Croatoa and the vet buff pets.

Well, no, they didn't say they're a girl. Although in many parts of what's referred to as the developed world it's possible to marry someone of the same gender. It's even allowed in some of the more religiously conservative countries. Even the US allows it in several states.
They could also be a male that enjoys looking feminine. The majority of people with transvestite preferences are heterosexuals who enjoy dressing or looking like the opposite sex. Sort of like how not all women who expose more than their eyes and hands in public are prostitutes. Some might be, but the majority are not.
i like the Polar Lights and Robotic Drones for offering more variety in sizes and shapes of pets. i'm more likely to use Storm Elementals myself, but i like having the options. -
Quote:i'd rather remove all the hunt greys missions, but then i wasn't completely (or at all) serious when i suggested turning the TF into nothing but hunt missions. Even the hunts that aren't pure grey still have you fighting enemies that will mostly con green or blue unless you go out of your way to try to find the max level spawning areas.Note, I didn't mention either of the level 30+ hunts in the Numina TF. There is absolutely no challenge to the first 14 hunt missions in the Numina TF.
If you want to spend 20-30 minutes (more if an Invasion/Banner Event happens in the hunt zone(s)) hunting greys, feel free to do it on your own time. -
Ben Kuchera's review on Ars Technica wasn't exactly positive.
Yet, somehow, it actually has me thinking of going to see it in a theatre despite having given the theatrical release of Transformers 2: Truck Nuts a miss.
i tend to agree with Bad Monkey!'s comment:Quote:At least as far as Bay goes.Michael Bay is just trolling the entire movie going world at this point, proving that he could put absolutely anything up on the screen, up to and maybe even one day including a robot Rick Astley repeatedly kicking a robot Benjamin Franklin in the stainless steel junk while singing "Never Gonna Give You Up", and it would still break 100 million in the first week.
Might go see it this weekend.

Quote:Or remove all those door missions padding out the non-hunt parts of the TF. Just keep the final door mission or have Jurrassikk spawn as the final ambush a la Babbage and Kronos Titan. So, only 1 of the 16 hunts goes?
How about removing the following additional pointless hunts too:
2.5.1 Defeat villains in Perez Park
2.5.2 Defeat 10 Clockwork in Atlas Park
2.5.3 Defeat 10 Outcasts in Steel Canyon
2.5.5 Defeat 10 Skulls in Kings Row
2.5.6 Defeat 10 Trolls in Skyway
2.5.7 Defeat 20 Vahzilok in Faultline
2.5.8 Defeat 20 Crey in Brickstown
2.5.9 Defeat 20 Freakshow in Crey's Folly
2.5.10 Defeat 20 Sky Raiders in Terra Volta
2.5.11 Defeat 10 Family and 10 Tsoo in Independence Port
2.5.12 Defeat 20 Council in 'Boomtown'
2.5.13 Defeat 30 Warriors in Talos Island
2.5.14 Defeat 30 Banished Pantheon in Dark Astoria -
No need to wait for nightfall the last couple of years or so. During the day Vahzilok can be found in the underground parking garage and assorted crevices of Faultline. They're not that rare if you look below the surface.

Quote:For a change i quite agree with J_B. Expression and dubious ethnicity aside it's an excellent picture. Just make Shalice more competent and heroic looking and BAB look more like, well, like BAB.I hope more posts come up about how bad the artwork is... I wanna see David cry.
I mean, damn... you guys are brutal and beyond critical. I'm not gonna say I enjoy the facial expressions or ethnicity issue BaBs is having, but I enjoy the composition and pretty colors. -
Quote:The new costume pieces can be claimed by any and all alts that have reached level 50.Would it have been so awful for them to be activated for all your toons if you bought one of the new auras or costume pieces?
I love new costume pieces, and that's why I own every single booster pack, but I find it pretty offensive that I have to use points just to get a pair of pants or a toon that glows the way I like.
They could have at least posted pictures or video of what this stuff looks like. We're buying blind here.
/rant
i don't recall for sure, but you might have to have run the level 30+ aura mission to use the new auras. In any even they are also usable by all alts on your account. -
Quote:As a Class Three Point Oh One Intellect i heartily endorse this... ooh! Shiny!Did the application specifically state that a Class Three Intellect was a step up?
Observe:
McDonalds has installed all new Class Three Intellect point of sales terminals that have pictures of the food instead of numbers and spits out change automatically, making educational background not a factor. -

i remember reading a bunch of episodes of the manga last year and it was getting pretty interesting. i'll probably give this a look at some point. Maybe after i finish watching the Wakfu episodes i currently have queued.
