Quote:The latest drivers are only needed if you use some other software with a more serious issue that a driver version past 11.4 fixes. Otherwise 11.4 is the best version for a CoH player at this time.Do you know when they released the latest driver? Because maybe they will release a new version soon.
(The 6950 is also the nicest card i've ever owned, but it barely fit into my case. As in a couple millimetre gap between the end of the card and my drive bay.) -

Quote:Pretty much this. i ended up rolling the drivers back to 11.4 for my new 6950.ATI drivers v11.5-->11.8 have been causing a lot of trouble with the game. See the recent thread.

Quote:Thus confirming my lack of credentials.Paranoid personality disorder is a psychiatric diagnosis characterized by paranoia and a pervasive, long-standing suspiciousness and generalized mistrust of others. Those with the condition are hypersensitive, are easily slighted, and habitually relate to the world by vigilant scanning of the environment for clues or suggestions to validate their prejudicial ideas or biases.
You make a compelling case for a paranoid diagnosis.
However the page does validate my reference to anti-psychotic medications even if it was more a less a bit of flippant humor:
Quote:Treatment
Because of reduced levels of trust, there can be challenges in treating paranoid personality disorder. However, psychotherapy, antidepressants, antipsychotics and anti-anxiety medications can play a role when an individual is receptive to intervention. -
Quote:Well, the Devs don't actually do that. That's the domain of the GMs and other support staff. i would try petitioning it on the alt that sent the lost inf giving as much info about the situation as possible. It's possible a GM could verify and refund the inf.Ok, so I was moving influence around on toons, and I forgot that there is a 2 billion limit on a character. My toon was up to 1.7 billion, and I tried to move 525 million. Well, I hit claim...and everything seemed fine, so I DELETED THE EMAIL! Then...and only then did a message pop up telling me that I would have too much influence and it could not be claimed. The toon is back to 1.7Bn and the toon it came from doesn't have the missing 525 mil, and the message is not in my email. Tell me I didn't just lose 525 million.
Please.
Think the devs would be sympathetic?
Edit: Ah, cool. Glad it worked out for you. -
i thought the difference between neurosis and psychosis was whether it kept you from being to function in society.
He was also rather obviously delusional and very irrational. i didn't read all of his posts, but my impression from the ones i read was usually that he would develop a bizarrely flawed premise and then insist despite all evidence to the contrary that it must be right.
So really more delusional than psychotic or paranoid in my opinion, but then i'm not a psychologist. -

Quote:Thanks to you i made a new Stalker named "small cardboard box".They can flap their flaps at you menacingly. And if you get too close this could result in a nasty papercut.
As mentioned above they can spin in place. and with those reinforced corners can bruise your shins.
never underestimate the power of the corrugated cardboard box. -

It's luck unless you're Rx10. If you are Rx10 then it's proof that the $archetype you're playing has a superior chance for drops compared to all other ATs. Of course if you're Rx10 then the same thing is true of the mission type, time of the day, phase of the moon, and how long since you last took your anti-psychotics when it comes to the odds of getting better rewards.
But for you, since you're not Rx10, it's just luck. -
Cones are affected in that the length of the cone is affected, and the range that ranged attacks can be used at are affected. The spread/degrees of cones are not affected, and the AoE radius of attacks that have a spherical AoE are not affected. So, while range enhancements will allow an attack like Fireball to be centered on a target farther away from the caster the size of the affected area is constant.

Oddly enough i seem to get the most tip drops on tip missions.
While it's technically true that random is random, unless the system is really bizarre the actual probability of any given rank of enemy dropping a tip should be a fixed value. So the question is not meaningless, but since there is no streakbreaker for anything but attack rolls you could theoretically go any length of time without a drop despite the odds. The best bet is to join a tip mission team. That way you can earn alignment points regardless of your own luck in getting tips. -

Quote:So you reversed the normal (mandatory even) story dynamic mandated by Lucas?I once wrote a short story with this as an idea about a Jedi and Sith battling near an ancient temple somehow getting warped to modern day earth. Both their lightsabers were broken so they had to learn to fight with alternative weapons. The Sith gathered a bunch of punks to do his bidding while the Jedi found a Force sensitive female who he made his padawan while she learned him stuff about living as a human being.
I somehow still like that idea, even if it sounds cheesy.
i must admit the Sith must be a pretty impressively badass species/civilization leftover to require that only two ever exist.
Okay, i'm lying. i always thought that was the dumbest thing the post-Sith species wannabe Sith like the Emperor and his predecessors could have decided to do. Or has that been changed? i don't pay that much attention to the ever shifting details of Star Wars canon. -
Apparently i've not been fighting the same AVs as you. Which, considering the sort of attacks they use, i'm rather grateful for.

i'm pretty sure i've confused cardboard boxes in mayhem missions. Of course seeing a cardboard box confused was pretty much a mutual experience. Confused cardboard boxes really can't do anything except glare at each other, what with being immobile and not having any attacks.

Just finished Surface Detail by Iain M. Banks. Been on a bit of a Banks binge the last couple of months. i've bought and read six of his novels in addition to my regular acquisitions.
Just started reading the Exalted Second Edition book today after finishing Surface Detail. -
Quote:Oh, and the thought just occurred to me that NCsoft must really be toying with you because the servers have been up far more than they've been down for me. Seriously, it's been far, far less than one hour out of forty-eight that i've seen the servers down. If you've been seeing the servers down more than up the last two weeks i suspect someone's been blocking your access.Gee what a surprise.. The servers have been down more in the last two weeks than they have been up. Way to impress those of us youre trying to bring back to the game.
There is also the slight possibility that you're using over the top exaggerated hyperbole to make yourself look like a massive twit with no sense of perspective, but who would deliberately try to make themselves look like that? No one, that's who. (OTOH, that could be why someone would be blocking your access to the servers most of the time if they're players or GMs who don't like you.)
Obviously it's a conspiracy. (No, not a Nemesis plot; it's someone else for a change.) -

Quote:Wait, if they were the old ruling class who is the ruling class now? Because i'd wager that 95% or more of the "ruling class" look the same now as back then.If the old ruling class in America were WASPs, shouldn't the equivalent in CoH be VIPERs? (Or would that offend the Children of Enos?)
i'm going to overlook Warden's post except for giving a chuckle and a snort at how he must be making ming feel. Oh, and maybe the usual facepalm.
It's true that everyone votes for dictators. To make it easier the candidates are usually "Current Dictator" and "Yes I Would Like The Secret Police To Come And Execute Me". Sometimes they add a real second candidate, but the results of those elections tend to get thrown out for being flawed. -
Didn't even know about the quake until i was leaving work. i work in Connecticut, so it wasn't very close to the epicenter. With assorted power tools going and a compressor that vibrates the building slightly by itself no one in the shop noticed the quake at all.
