Quote:"No fade or pulse" setting does exactly that. Your character model no longer fades out when the power is turned on. All my DA users set it to that now.Cloak of Fear is 5% ToHit debuff, which is very nice. It is also a taunt aura with decent 13.6 s time which is good for a tank. As far as I understand the ToHit debuff is auto-hit and only the fear component needs a hit roll, correct? If this is the case, this aura is worth it just for the debuff and taunt with the fear being the gravy.
The reason I take this is that I refuse to take Cloak of Darkness unless I somehow can disable its horrific graphic effect. I mean looking like that for a minute in a tier 9 god mode could work, but all the time ?! I happily give up 7% defense and immobilization protection just not to look like that. Does the "no pulse no something" option in the power coloring disable the cloud of $#!t effect? It is hard to tell from the short animation in character creator. -
Quote:This is a nice idea, but so far there's only a few suggestions for making the power useful as it currently is, which was the original challenge.I'd be pleased if they kept the same damage, recharge and chance to stun but changed it to a 7 ft cone with the same arc as Shadow Maul/Sands of mu. It would be nice for stalkers and other low AoE sets to have a modicum of aoe.
...
Other than the already stated slotting for set bonuses i got nothin'. -
The original post is showing high toxicity levels on the thread scanner. Perhaps remediation is needed?

They're not windowless and they're quite large. Maybe ventilation for the Atlantic Ocean Highway Tunnel? (aka Ocean Tunnel aka Onannel...)

Quote:The inside does have the same location; it has to since you can look in and out. The AE building is the same way. There's a building in Atlas Park with a rooftop park under a dome that you can get into by clicking on the stairway door on the building's west side.
The building is along the south wall, about half way between the sewer entrance and the southeast corner. Location is -963.0 12.9 749.1
Is it for a mission?
I wish there were a lot more places like this, where we can go into the buildings, aside from missions.
edit: Changed location because I realized that the "inside" probably didn't really have the same location as the building. -

i have two alts that use Hasten and level 50s of almost every AT, but i don't currently have any Energy Aura alts above level 20, so maybe it is necessary because... wait, no, Stone Armor has -recharge, Energy Aura gets +recharge powers...
Uh, barring refusal to play at any setting below +4/x8 i'm not sure why skipping Hasten wouldn't be okay with any powerset. -
Quote:And we're glad to have you back.I don't think it's all that far off that mark. Prior to coming back as part of the wave of returning players for CoH: Freedom, I was gone about one year (I left just before the Incarnate system came online). In the meantime, I had shifted my focus to that other, more popular MMO. The player base there is horrendous. Try to get help in the main chat channels and you're just asking for a hard time. Everything from being called "noob" to out and out questioning of your sexuality. It's an MMO for that special 12-year-old in all of us. Coming back here was a homecoming, a refreshing reminder that what I left was the most friendly MMO on the planet. AND I play mainly on the Freedom server. Sure, you still manage to get one 12-year-old guttermouth once in a while, but he's usually shouted down by more mature players.
Now I remember what made me love this game from Day One.
And I'm glad to be back.
*does silly dance for no reason*
Oops, i blame all the toxins. -
Quote:Well, i've found that after filling all 5 fame circles no new tip missions will drop, including the morality mission. At least since Freedom launched that's how it's been working for me.So a friend and I were running Hero tips missions last night and we both hit 10/10 after completing five for the night. We spent another 45 mins or so doing ordinary missions trying to get the morality mission tip to drop, but it never did for either of us. We must have taken out hundreds of enemies during those 45 mins.
Why didn't the morality mission drop? I know that tips mission drops are random like any other mob drop, but this seemed to defy statistical probability. It seems far more likely that something else was gating the morality mission drop. What would that be? -

Quote:The Devs have stated several times that not all new powersets will have to be purchased. Make of that what you will.I've been thinking the same thing actually. I don't mind paying for costume sets and such, but are VIPs really going to have to pay for every new powerset that comes out? Is Time going to be the last freebie?
Unfortunately, my altitis is such that I will gobble them up gladdly...ooooo, new shiney power, must have... -
Quote:The ThinkTank and contents are static. The aura eye glows move with the head animations that would be happening if the head/tank wasn't locked in place. (The "head bones/nodes" for the character model are present and still moving, but the ThinkTank is rigidly attached to the torso, not attached to the head nodes, so the only thing following the head bone animations are the auras.) As long as you don't have eyes in the tank the eye glows look pretty nice anyway.Tried that; at least for Glow, the eye glow is not only positioned outside the jar, but it's not even aligned with the eyes in the jar.
i don't think the fish boots and gloves textures are a bug as such. They just don't match anything else in the character creator. Sure, the effect is pretty ugly and meshes well with nothing, but that doesn't mean they're bugged; just that they're ugly costume pieces (texture-wise) that go well with nothing else. -
Quite true. Now anyone can set spawn sizes and relative levels to whatever they want for free. (Within limits of course. For example, only up to a team size of eight.)
-
Barring major (but fairly rare) SNAFUs you should get your stuff once a month. The details are in flux, but that's pretty much the best rule of thumb to use.

Quote:They work quite nicely with my Traps/Dark. Especially since she's a flying (well, hovering), teleporting technomancer. The drones just add to the cloud of whirling devices of doom that usually surround her.I wasn't really sure what I was after, small, or obnoxious, or some middle ground. It was more a style thing. I did know that the Praetorian-style clockwork, Warworks, and Vanguard neither one was quite what I wanted.
I think the drones will work out nicely for me. -

Incidentally, here's a way to get eye auras with the brain jar:
1) Get your jar set up just the way you like it.
2) Switch to another head. Medieval helmets is nearby.
3) Set up the eye aura effect you want.
4) Switch your head back to the jar.
Note: If you open the aura tab again while using the jar it will change the aura to a setting without eye effects. Repeat steps 2 through 4 if needed. Also step 1 is really optional since you can edit the jar and other pieces as much as you want after setting up the aura as long as you don't open the aura tab while being all jarheaded. -
Quote:What Tyger said. His writing reads more like someone struggling to make it through primary schooling (junior high level, maybe) than anyone who is ESL or a computer tech for 20 years. Especially with the tendency to flip out and throw around childish slurs. No, the difference between "non-native speaker" errors and "just plain lazy/ignorant" errors are pretty obvious. Could be a combination of the two, but the presence of the latter is plain as day. As far as "technical knowledge" goes, not really. Sounds to me more like he copied over details from a spec sheet and regurgitated some pretty easy to find info. He left out some basic info like, say, the type of video card and driver versions, instead only specifying the amount of memory it had.
ESL writers tend to make grammar or word choice mistakes, but generally their spelling and punctuation are superior to many native users of English.
Actual computer techs (the competent ones at any rate) have a few attributes that the OP doesn't exhibit: A) They ask if the issue they're having is a known issue and if there's a solution, B) They supply detailed, useful info like the exact hardware, software and driver specs, and C) They know to look for and post in a forum intended to address game issues.
Mature adults ask for help first, THEN make a stink if needed. i'm left with the distinct impression the OP was a computer tech years before he was born, which is an impressive feat in the real world. In the game world you can just use time machines, handwavium, or say a wizard did it. -
Quote:Except that it's not doing it consistently, which the old code did, so i doubt it's that. They must be using old code for the framework of the signature arcs, then. (shrug)
After thinking about it a bit i decided i don't know enough about how it works to really make a good guess as to why. -
i'm just disappointed that even after years of lobbying by many players it certainly seems like Carp Armor and Carp Melee are dead in the water, as in CoH will probably go belly-up before those sets are slapped into our hands, and that just stinks.

Quote:Well 4th Edition was rather MMO-like, so maybe in attempt to further broaden the appeal 5th Edition will be more console or Angry Birds/tower defense inspired. 6th Edition will be a variation on Super PSTW.http://www.examiner.com/rpg-in-natio...on-5th-edition
I was skeptical until I saw it was corroborated by Margaret Weis on the official Dragonlance forums. -
Quote:To properly make a Hamster model they would also have to be largely solitary, somewhat dim, vicious, psychotic critters that frequently kill and cannibalize each other if in the same area too long. Maybe as a click power similar to Secondary Mutation usable by hamsters that has a chance to cause another nearby hamster character to undergo Self Destruction while granting Vengeance on the user? The wolf model in the new Haloween content shows us two things:
a) The devs have a working quadruped skeleton and are starting to look at how they can use it and
b) They have placed it viewable in the new event at least partially in order to gauge how players are going to react to it.
Now, the obvious ultimate destination for the fulfillment of this technology is to have quadrupeds be a valid player model. Saying that's going to happen is like saying 'As soon as we get us some rocket fuel, we're on the moon, Baby!'. The idea of recreating literally every power animation in the game to work with a quadruped model rather than a biped model is staggering. I suspect that it would ultimately be MORE work than what's been done on Power Customization.
However, not too long ago, Power Customization was 'not able to happen, sorry'.
So, if the stars align, the staff is willing, the pocket books are open to the right page, etc... and so forth... and the developers are able to let us make quadruped characters, these are my requests for functionality:
1. The very first thing I'd create if the possibility exists is a hamster. Therefore, such a model would need to be allowed to scale much, MUCH smaller that what we've seen anywhere else in the game. Currently, I'm making do with the Panda shoulder pet for displaying this character in his rodent form, but I could go even a bit larger than that. I'd be willing to go so large as 'Basketball' size.
2. In order to make a rodent quadruped from a generic quadruped, The legs must be shortened dramatically. In terms of character modelling and animation, this means that the same skeleton necessary to model a wolf would also need to be able to model a dachshund.
3. Rodents as basically big balls of fat and internals on top of those tiny legs. The skeleton would need many, many animation bones, including a rounding bone that works similar to the way the 'Physique' slider works on biped models.
4. Unlike many rodents, Hamsters are born with short, stubby tails. A selection of tails would need to be made available.
5. The texture I need is orange and white spots.
Yes, I know I'm being as presumptuous as all get out, but look where we are with power customizations!
Thank you in advance for your hard work in enabling my character to assume his rodentine form. -
