Good thing a Volcanic Island chain run by a maniac with a spider fetish is more easily plausible

[ QUOTE ]
Well another thing, not that this is really considered in the rating, but you do need to buy this pack in order to use it. So if you don't like that you can skip the "cross dressing" and "trans-gender" by just not buying the pack.
[/ QUOTE ]
The objection is to the idea of anyone in the game being able to do it. Not buying the pack won't stop other people from inflicting their vile, ambiguously-gendered ebil on Gender_Freaked_Out's poor, defenseless, sheltered children. -
Just going to point out that there have been a few superheroes who have actually been a team of mixed genders who took turns using the identity/suit/powers. Each costume slot is a different member of the team taking a turn as the hero. No, making two to five different characters with the exact same powersets and levels is not an effective way to represent a "team hero" who has a different member of the team step into the suit when one of the other members is incapacitated, especially on a SF/TF.
Also, there's Cloud: "Cloud is a sentient nebula, an immense cloud of gas, with the ability to assume human form. Cloud's initial human form was at first modeled after human female Carol Faber. After falling in love with Moondragon, Cloud also developed a male form modeled after Danny Milligan. Cloud first appeared in Defenders #123-124 (September-October 1983), and was created by J. M. DeMatteis and Don Perlin. She appeared as a regular member of the Defenders from that point on, in issues #127-152 (January 1984-February 1986) of the title. The character subsequently appeared in Solo Avengers #20 (July 1989), and Star Masters #1 (December 1995). Cloud received an entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition #3."
Anyway...
Gear_Freak's posts are a little hard to read, being blocks of poorly spelled and punctuated text, but i don't recall any actual response to the many examples given of prime time broadcast television shows, G and PG rated movies, and children's cartoon's where the main characters pretend to be the opposite gender.
In one way this thread is utterly pointless. Gear_Freak knows the "real truth" (and how wrong, vile, perverse, and utterly ordinary it is) about being able to make different slots be different genders, and nothing you say, no amount of real-world examples, no amount of alternate explanations, nothing at all, will change their opinion. They know the real truth, have known it since grammer skool, and the rest of the freaking world is just wrong if it doesn't agree with their particular view on the matter. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
[i]Edit: Nevermind about the paragraph regarding Gear_Freak's lack of effective response to the cartoon, TV and movie cross dressing. (i should have specified "effective" in the original paragraph. *sigh*) The last paragraph before my edit stands, though. We're all wasting our time here, except for the slight chance that someone less rigid and narrow minded reading this thread might benefit from some of the insights, explanations and examples offered. -

My reactions went basically along these lines:
Heh, cute, another 'zomg, doom!' humor thread.
Wait, is he serious?
Oh good lord, I think he's actually serious.

Concise, accurate, me too. -
Well, i recently leveled my Dark/Ice to 27 and i'm already thinking about setting up my secondary build for Hamidon raids. The emphasis will be on single target attacks, holds, leadership, healing, debuffs, teleportation and hover.
i'll have to set up my standard build in Mids' at some point, but i'll probably wait until i decide to respec into the build i've been mulling in my head. (i usually plan out builds while playing the character for a few dozen levels and then put it into Mids' to check details.) All the builds i design are leveling builds, that is they're designed as if i was playing the build from level 1 up. It makes for better exemping effectiveness when doing things like Ouroboros, early task forces and helping with low level content. -

I don't think they were really replying to you with those comments, but more people like Not Rhino, who likened people reporting petitionable characters to blackmail and extortion.
I honestly have no problem with people who don't want to petition other people. That's fine. So you're good. The people I do have a problem with are the ones who call people tattletales and the like because the person informed a GM that they were breaking a rule.

A rat is a rat.

Up until now, the only time I've heard the term "rat" used to describe someone who reports bad behavior is over-the-top criminal stereotypes in movies. So my advice to you is... leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

*snerk*
Interesting thread. i occasionally petition very blatant ripoffs. i find it amusing that some of the "stop snitchin" posters have made assertions to the effect of "sure, NCsoft might have been sued in the past by Marvel, but it could never happen again."
Wrong. If anything, this sort of behavior from companies like Marvel has become more common in the last five years.
Try again. -

Okay, just calm down, and we can help you get this figured out.
You bought a U.S. serial code, right?
____________________________________
Or did you specifically buy an E.U. one?
The only way to get onto the E.U. servers is to have specifically bought an E.U. serial code. Otherwise, you bought a U.S. one.
____________________________________
Or did you buy a game card, but not an actual box code?
You cannot use just a game card to upgrade from a trial to a full account. You need to buy the account first.

Mage: The Ascension FTW! Catgirls FTL!
[/ QUOTE ]
Wut.
No, seriously, that's far more random than the vast majority of my posts.
i can't believe this thread is still going.
How about "derailing" it into a discussion of what AT's and powersets best fit into the catgirl concept? At least then it'll be appropriate for the Archetypes & Powers forum. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yep, that was pointed out. Sorry 'bout that. You'll recover, I trust?

I can understand some buffs and not wanting them due to some graphics issue/motion issues.
But if someone told me to not us a blast like Explosive Arrow I would tell them to piss off and find another team. That is just redonkuless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well Hobo, I could see his point. The attack's KB proc had gone off just before he said it, so I figured he was worried about knocking enemies into unagroed groups.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless the enemy had an AoE toggle debuff or a scrapper on him your teammate didn't really have much to worry about. Mobs can only aggro other members of their spawn without outside help. (Like a scrapper or Enervating Field.) -

I win. My account doesn't have a Fire/Kin.

i don't have one either. Since i'm not in the competition i win nothing.
Mmmm, sweet, tasty nothing. How i love your fluffy absence. -

I play on Virtue, IT IS the Best Server... but CC suck.

i've randomly participated in and won costume contests. (On Virtue.)
On a couple occasions i've helped judge contests being held by an SG. The discussion was always about how well the entrants met the criteria, and we disqualified other SG members or their alts on principle. (Admittedly not on Virtue.) -
Excellent review. i particularly liked your version of the absent dialogue.
i also "LOL'ed" several times.
i second the use of negative numbers in your rating system.
That is all.

Incidentally, the answer to the OP is 'yes, to varying degrees.'

6) The Atlas Statue is a structural impossibility which leads one to think that it was created and maintained by someone with stone shaping powers. This being the case; what happens when that person dies?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's a steel (or impervium) framework with a stone skin. The earliest version only used the stone covering on the continents of the globe, the rest of the globe's framework was exposed.
(Yeah, i had to answer one question semi-seriously. Awesome list of quasi-imponderables though.) -

I'm glad we still live in a society that believes people are innocent until proven guilty.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the basis of the legal system, not society as a whole.
There have been people who were very obviously guilty of crimes who got off scot free because of wealth or influence and those who have been wrongly convicted.
i don't know that MJ was guilty of anything he was accused of (other than creepy, more than slightly suspicious tastes), but i'm not in court, so that standard does not apply. In any event, we may never know.
At least some who have gotten away with heinous crimes in the past have had confessions or diaries detailing them released after their deaths; which is one of the ways we know that some people are not convicted in court of crimes they did in fact commit. -

Yeah, the paragonwiki is a good site. The forums' own guides section has some good stuff as well.
Just tossing it out, here are a couple of my favorite macros:
/macro find "targetcustomnext scrounger"
/macro info "info"
You can edit macros by right-clicking them.
i use the find macro by changing scrounger to the name of whatever i'm trying to locate, but even just a partial name works. (Looking for Archon Hippolyta? Putting in archon will target anything with archon in its name.) If more than one target in your field of view has whatever is after targetcustomnext in its name it will cycle to the next one every time you click the macro's button.
This command only works on individual target names, not faction names or anything below the first line, and the target has to be in your line of sight. (i used scrounger in the example macro because just about every sizable group of Lost has at least one with scrounger in the name.)
info makes the info window pop up for whatever you have targeted. If you have nothing targeted it shows your character's info. -

Given the very large number of Doc Q's I have seen formed since the merits were upped on that one, I would have to disagree.

The two "L" llama, he's a beast.

Alternatively, of course, you could stay on the forums and slag off everyone who ever dared so much as think about setting foot in those ugly glass buildings, because everybody knows that their very existence taints the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
i go in those ugly glass buildings sometimes. Generally in one of the zones not loaded with farm teams. (So anywhere not CaD, Mercy or AP.) i've played some really entertaining arcs. Of course the fact that i use it at all is proof positive i'm a terrible person with no taste. But at least i'm enjoying myself.
Slag me, i am tainted!
