<Insert my sob story about being gone this weekend and getting called away last night and missing my respecs on characters before the patch. Also insert statements of aggravation.>
Why can't granted free respecs stack?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if you still had the free respec from before, why would you need the free one now?
[/ QUOTE ]No logic allowed! Begone!
(Other than that i agree.) -

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve by saying that, but I'm pretty confident you didn't succeed in achieving it.
[/ QUOTE ]i thought he was trying to make sure that many who are reading this thread would give his posts little credibility in future discussions. i'd even say it's a success. -
i think i'll see if Crush Maim Frolic is taken and grab it for my own use. It's a name that just screams srs bzns.

Ok I didn't read the updates correctly. I was thinking that was under the General heading, missed the only DOM's Heading. I was thinking they Nerfed the HELL out of my Blaster. Sorry all for the Ruckus. . .exits stage left!

Well that happens, we just wanted to clarify the question and have fun at the same time.Glad your blaster is fine.

Agreed. At last the mystery has been dispelled to reveal... something very ordinary and human. A misunderstanding that has been set right.
[i]Personally i was hoping it was a shoggoth behind the curtain, but not every mystery is like a trip to grandma's old bungalow in Innsmouth. -

Didn't use any freespecs. New issues have been coming at us faster than I have need to respec any of my characters. I think that's a good thing, actually.
[/ QUOTE ]
i used one or two, but only because i would have anyway. Once i've got a fairly solid build with some sets going i rarely bother to respec unless i really want to try a totally new build. Though the addition of dual builds has made even that less required. My first 50 still has at least 5 respecs available if i want to use them. -

Instead it is more likely he/she/it heard in game that it had been nerfed and rushed to the boards to post. And didn't even bother to research the topic first.

Him and an army like him with every issue release. <sigh>
So, I hear they nerfed regen and accuracy this issue.....
[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, but they do that every single issue. -
Ghost_Ripper, i don't recall Munitions Mastery, Mental Manipulation or MasterMinds being nerfed at all in the recent past, much less in i15, so what the hell are you talking about?

I think one of the biggest differences between this game's end-game "goals" and that of other games out there would be the fact that you don't VISUALLY see the advancement of your character past hitting 50.
In games like WoW (using it for an example only), you can SEE who's taken the time to trick out a particular character. Upgraded armor is nice and flashy, and people recognize how much time you've invested based purely on your "look".
Now, in CoH, it's slightly different. The character creator is absolutely amazing, and allows a wide range of options. Yes, there are ways for a higher-level character to distinguish themselves, such as capes, auras, titles/badges, and unlockable weapons and armors. But your character could also look the same from level 1 all the way through to 50 and beyond.
Under the hood, however, is a different story. A character using standard enhancements may be somewhat effective, but that same character with a tricked-out IO setup could very well be a scary sight to behold. Only at THAT point will observant players say to themselves, "Holy crow, look at that kid!" and view your info. THEN, when they see the list of set bonuses a mile long, will they fully recognize how much time you've spent on your character.
So, to answer your question, items (in this case Enhancements) are not for vanity at all, as a player cannot look at, say, your helm or pauldrons and see "Oh, Tier 4, nice." However, I feel they do MORE for for vanity, as they enable you to push your character that much further. A Scrapper with standard enhancements might do okay in a team environment, but a tricked-out Scrapper with purples out the wazoo will be off destroying entire spawns by himself while the team just stands in awe. That's the true beauty of the "end-game" enhancements.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course in City of [x] if you're a member of the same faction you can view a list of the character's set bonuses, which can give you an idea of how much has been invested in "equipping" the character. On some characters 3/4 or more of the info window is a solid block of set bonuses.
...If i ever play WoW i hope i can use "the Colorblind" in my character's name in anticipation of using high end gear. -

And if you think there isnt a balance in wow, consider how overpowered you can make a CoH group with the right tank/controller, you can basically make the group invincible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, what? Controller i can see, since they bring debuffs and buffs, but tank...?
Oh, right, invincible group not unstoppable juggernaut of destruction group.
For an unstoppable juggernaut of destruction you mostly want a solid core of AT's like Defenders, Controllers, Corruptors, VEATs and Masterminds; then add other AT's to taste.
Invincible is a bit simpler. Tanker, Controller or Defender and whatever else you want.
With practiced players almost any team mix can be nigh-invincible, but the above mix is best for less coordinated teams. -

I was thinking when a hero or villain draws out his/her sword or gun where does it come from??? I was wondering why dont they have a holster or something to put there weapons into and so its visible. there can be different holster costume parts and ect. if you don't like the holster idea please think about making weapons visible on either the characters back or waist (should have choice based on player).
Think about this!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Hammer space.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this "hammer space" is the biggest cop-out ever... not showing ur weopon is retarded lol.
First post after redname...nd if its so hard to get a weapon holster or whatever y not just make a sheath or a quiver as a costume piece for the waist?
[/ QUOTE ]I think your abuse of the English language is "the biggest cop-out ever".
[/ QUOTE ]
The irony is thick with that one.
Now as for the mention of Infernal in an earlier post: Most signature characters aren't useful to point to as examples of how to do something. They aren't constructed from a collection of costume pieces like player characters. They are separate models that don't use the same system of attachment points and the like that player characters use. -

I might be able to put something together. I only did the two for Kheldians because someone suggested it, and there was already animation/VFX there for shape-changing. VEATs don't have any sort of shape-changing powers to pull directly from.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm... Arachnos Sigil perhaps?
[/ QUOTE ]
The bip bip bip pressing buttons on your arm emote followed by the Arachnos Sigil going zoosh in a similar way to the Patron sigils when you activate a Patron armour power?
[/ QUOTE ]
i'd go with the bip bip bip buttons, but then i'd have a vertical Arachnos symbol the height of the character appear and rotate around the vertical axis with the costume changing in a flash as the rotation finished. *shrug* -

What difficulty level are you facing them on? And what kind of meleer?
[/ QUOTE ]Unyielding and below depending on level, and almost all powersets at one point or another. Spectral Daemon Lords can be slow and challenging, but there are various methods of handling them. i tend to use my superior mobility and the fact that their aura doesn't always take effect instantly to use hit and run tactics. i suppose if they were in every single spawn i would also start avoiding CoT missions, but i've never had that occur. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's thanks to the negative stereotype spread by so very very many members of the PvP community who have -left- thanks to the i13PvP alterations. But the stigma remains.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually i'm of the opinion that the majority of PvP fans are relatively well behaved, and it was just a small but noisy group that gave the larger community a bad name, which is something that happens to many communities.
Kudos to the PvPEC members who have stepped forward to disavow support for an annoying fool's behavior. -
[ QUOTE ]
There are definitely enemies that I do not think can be soloed with every playerset combination.
Since I play a lot of melee toons, I simply avoid COT from the time the Spectral Lords appear up until the time they disappear for good (around 40 or so). It's a pity because there are some great stories that I like about the COT, but the stories aren't worth the aggravation of dealing with the Spectrals.
[/ QUOTE ] Interestingly about half of my alts are melee and i generally seek out CoT from about level 5 onwards. The only time i find the Spectral Daemon Lords especially difficult is when i'm on teams and fight several at once. i guess it's a case of YMMV. -
[ QUOTE ]
There's a large difficulty spike near the end. It's definitely impossible to solo past level 55.
[/ QUOTE ]i tried it and accidentally beat the internets. Remember when most of Europe was inaccessible for a few hours? Sorry about that. -
Good luck and come back soon. i have a few friends i occasionally team with who have kids running about, and they're constantly having to go AFK for brief, and sometimes longer, periods, so i know how that is. There are a lot of understanding people here on the forums and in game, so when you come back i'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to team with you regardless.

[ QUOTE ]
I laugh now whenever people claim all content is soloable on all archetypes. My Invuln/SuperStr TANKER could barely take on Frostfire alone, and my Dark/Dark Corrupter needed to team to kill Spinnerette who would heal herself way too frequently. Clearly, not all content in this game is soloable on all archetypes.
[/ QUOTE ]
i for one have never claimed that all content is soloable by all powerset combinations. (i would tend to say that virtually all content is soloable by all AT's, depending on the sets used.) However, i think the vast majority of it is soloable by all. Oddly enough i find that Dark/Dark is one of the best combos for soloing almost anything below AV/GM level. (Though my Dark/Dark is a Defender, which doesn't have the same modifiers and inherent as a Corruptor.)
Hell, i've soloed Frostfire with every hero AT, including assorted Tankers and a FF/EB Defender. For me solo includes using inspirations even though i nearly never buy any; generally i only use what i find while playing.
