i honestly hope the OP does post here again to clarify what he meant, because i really am interested in what constitutes realistic in a setting that routinely has extradimensional invasions and zombie attacks while fighting off gangs that fly around and shoot various sorts of blasts at you.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not nearly as hard to achieve as all that, you know, and not nearly as much an oxymoron.
But, hey, if I dare actually go into a coherent discussion of realism as relevant to the setting, someone's bound to bludgeon me over not having a sense of humour.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right, but i want clarification as to what the OP meant since there are several ways realistic can be interpreted the context of this game.... -
[ QUOTE ]
This'll probably piss you off more then; I really want pole-arms. It's the last thing I need to make every character that I've ever wanted. Make it so I can use a spear, staff, and scythe with the same set, of course. Then I'd be set.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. i've always liked staff fighting styles. Presumably it would be heavy on KB/KD/KU, use somewhat longer ranges on attacks than other melee sets and have multiple AoE's. -

These days, "damn" isn't really considered a "cuss" anymore. It's considered "rude" at worst, and even then, not by all that large a portion of the populace. Remember, "Hell" used to be highly offensive outside of direct religious references.
[/ QUOTE ]
I sure got the soap treatment for it alot
[/ QUOTE ]
Damn that's harsh.
Also, "alot" isn't a word. (Yet.) Either you forgot the space between "a" and "lot", or you misspelled "allot", which wouldn't make any sense if used there anyway. (Considering how common it's becoming i suspect that "alot" will become the "ain't" of the 21st century, but i won't let it happen without a fight! Or at least a quibble or two.)
-
It could just be coincidence, but after the emergency patch the other day i've been experiencing less rubberbanding than in the week or so prior to i15 going live.
It was almost unplayably bad in the interval between i15 going live and the patch.
i approve of this maintenance despite it being one of the few Fridays i have off. -

I'm guessing he would mean more realistic in the sense of X-Men, Watchmen, etc... Groups where the heroes aren't all perfect, shiny, happy, friendly and instead have drama, problems, bothersome ticks and shades of grey...
Just a guess.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, what?
"Groups where the heroes aren't all perfect, shiny, happy, friendly and instead have drama, problems, bothersome ticks and shades of grey"?
This was posted in the Virtue forums, right?

So, in general, the Praetorian Name of a character is a reflection of their current name, but with a more...aggressive, sinister twist.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is why i wouldn't make the Praetorian version of Hypermech Boomkitty be Hypomeat Whisperdog. Praetorian versions generally don't have reversed meaning names or contrasting powers compared to their Primal versions. Still, this is a funny thread.
This thread would be more aptly titled "Getting in Touch with the Bizarro You." -

Why do people keep bringing up how hard it would be to tweak the AI?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because some of us thought you meant smarter AI, not simply raising perception ranges, i'd imagine. It's quite true that the Devs could easily raise perception ranges. That already occurs in Safeguard missions. Not likely to happen, and not at all what i consider "better AI", but it could be done.
There was a period of several years where the Dev team was very small, and it's altogether likely the person who originally coded the AI left years ago. Over the last year or so they've added a lot of new staff, many of them programmers, and been sorting through the code to find out how things actually work, as opposed to how the notes say they work. As already stated, some mobs have had their AI tweaked fairly recently to be more aggressive and cycle attacks more effectively. -
Some say we have one of the best MMO Dev teams on the planet. (Devs in orbit or beyond are disqualified.) Having read through some other games' forums, Dev interviews and news articles i think there may be some truth to this.

Assault Rifle/Mental Manipulation Blaster. There ya go!!
[/ QUOTE ]Eh? i have one at 32. Hasn't been all that challenging yet, and i deliberately play the character like a raving lunatic. -
What's an "artic"? The only mention in the dictionary is that it's occasionally slang for articulated lorry. (Or possibly a misspelling of "arctic", but that's far less amusing.)
Moving on...
Want more challenging AI? You're in (some) luck! A number of groups have become more challenging recently, apparently due to tweaks in the AI code. Malta are more aggressive and dangerous than before, and as of i15 the Cimerorans have started prepping and using powers even before players get into perception range.
i'm rather hoping that Going Rogue features an extensive revamp of the AI code. Arcanaville's post some time back regarding the game's AI system made it (sort of) clear why it's such a pain to tweak and upgrade mob AI with the current implementation.

Candlejack is probably one of the most ridiculous and racist memes on the internet.
[/ QUOTE ]
...I thought it was from an episode of Freakazoid...

Hmmm, i hear lots of ppl say Emps sux, but teams that do not have an emp with them die alot and waste alot of time
[/ QUOTE ]
Utterly false and irrelevant to the discussion of Gravity Control.
While i do agree that Gravity could use some adjustment, and personally consider Dimension Shift a mostly useless power that is most likely the reason that Gravity has so little useful AoE, so far there's been nothing that suggests that the Devs feel the same way or have any plans to look at the set.
There have been some really interesting suggestions and analysis in this thread so far. Unfortunately i think that Gravity performs well enough that it's very low on the list of sets to be looked at by Castle.
P.S.- Empathy is a great set with some awesome buffs, but it is hardly required for success, survival or speed. In fact no single set is required for any content. -

Spelling bee champ here. I can spell all kinds of silly arcane exotic words - not really a useful skill, but fun at parties (not).
Oh, and I'm going a tasteful muted heathery tweed myself.

Don't you mean archaic?
And I think someone else said it, but I'll be going plaid.
[/ QUOTE ]
In this case i would say arcane is more accurate than archaic. -

None have actually shown up in-game so far; they're just listed on the market. The Winter's Gift universal travel IO set also showed up on the Market long before the Winter Event launched last year. It's probably just an Oops.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, that would be my guess as well.
Now i'm wondering if this will end up tying into the hypothetical universal enhancement slots.
Probably not, but speculating is fun. -
Today i noticed seven new pieces of invention salvage showing up in the market list:
Android Armor Plate
Android Blaster
Android Circuitry
Brain Lichen
Primordial Moss
Progenitor Lichen
Undamage Android Brain
Interesting... -
Wait, new inherent?
You mean we have an old one?

Negligence actually is sometimes useful, on teams, in certain situations. Sadly i tend to build my Defenders with the assumption that teammates will not be badly injured for more than a brief time and also with soloing in mind, so endurance is not usually a major issue even in tough fights. This of course frequently makes Vigilance not very useful overall. Then again my Defenders are pretty darn good anyway. -

You play a lot of defenders according to your sig, I'm a little surprised you haven't recognized the value in shields.
[/ QUOTE ]
Shields are nice. The be-all end-all of everything.... not so much. I appreciate ones that keep everyone from being stunned/mezzed ad infinitum during Ship Raids; most of the rest, I find nice but pretty forgettable.
Unless its a really horrible shield like the ice ones, which I want off me ASAP. Shields have their uses; i do not fall down and worship at the mere idea of 'em though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, right on! They're almost (not totally, but almost) as worthless as using Darkest Night, amirite?
[/ QUOTE ]
As worthless as using RI and EF on a mob in the center of an immob'd spawn, I'd say.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. That is to say nearly the exact opposite of worthless.
i've always played that if someone doesn't want a buff i'll do my best to skip them. After all, my bubbler has vengeance and rarely gets to use it.
(B_I has posted before about how they won't use Darkest Night because it's not a very useful power that draws aggro. B_I stood firm on that even after learning it was an AoE debuff. i'd guess that B_I finds it difficult to value anything that doesn't generate visible numbers on screen. *shrug*) -

Some of my other results are contradictory. For example: "Unresponsive to praise or criticism" and "Requires excessive praise and admiration."

Not contradictory at all. Being unresponsive to praise means you need a lot more of it to have an effect. -
In some ways i think that Going Rogue will effectively be CoX2. By the time GR comes out i expect there will have been significant upgrades to the game's appearance and features. Next issue will be adding power color customization, something that has been asked for since launch, and we already have the mission architect. There are a bunch of other upgrades and additions that i suspect may be coming by the release of GR, but i won't speculate on which will make it until i see more announcements.
