That question wasn't very tasty. Why did you tell us to eat it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lmao!
This problem annoys me, just thought I'd share that . .
>_>
[/ QUOTE ]i've never tried eating questions, so i had no idea it was such a problem. How often does it bother you? -
[ QUOTE ]
I still try to dodge too! lol
You CAN use corners to your benefit. Something I have found so few people doing.
[/ QUOTE ]
i'm constantly queuing up attacks and debuff toggles as i leap behind corners or cover. Makes it so much easier to lure mobs to their doom. -

Usually when I hold a cc I ask that there be no powers OR weapons... this includes shields, swords or guns. Many people get really upset with me but when I host cc it's all about the costume not the accessories. Your costume should tell all that there is to know about you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I'd think that a well designed costume would have those elements (weapon, shield, whatever) as part of their total package. After all, if you're a gun- or sword-wielder, that style should be reflected in your outfit..... but it's also based *around* said weapon. So the weapon should be carefully chosen and colored to support the rest of the costume.
Conversely, *badly* chosen accessories (weapon, shield, clashing and overlapping auras/powers) are a sign of *bad* costume design. If someone thinks lighting off have a dozen toggle auras looks good.... they deserve to lose.
/shrug
(Obligatory real-comics example: I can't see presenting Captain America's costume without the shield. The shield is a big part of his image.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. Items like weapons and shields are just as much a part of a costume as Upper Body>Chest Detail, Head>Detail 1 or auras.
How about holding a "Classic Hamidon Raid" costume contest? No capes, auras, wings or extra details allowed. -
If you type [reveal] into chat in game it generates clickable info link. (Didn't see that mentioned here or in the other thread, but i'm getting a bit sleepy, so this may be redundant.)

This right here.

Actually, the premise of the OP is rather silly even if you ignore the silly numbers. Obviously Articulated Lorry1337 is just having a bit of fun with us. Using false dichotomy to start yet another thread about the Mission Architect is even more pointless than the threads that preceded it.
That sort of faulty argument is so easy even i can do it.
47% of people hate chainsaws because they're used for cutting up corpses.
79% of people love chainsaws because they're used for cutting up corpses.
11% of people dislike the word "moist".
(Yes, 26% of people both love and hate chainsaws, and possibly dislike the word "moist".)
See? i conveniently ignored the fact that chainsaws have other uses besides corpses, and that use may not even be relevant to how many feel about chainsaws. It's just a messy argument all around.

Tanker Tuesday is still going strong, Bert. You should attend the next one and/or join the tour. -
[ QUOTE ]
Dirty_Tanker .you are a good person
im a new player and in mercy island ,its fun there ,people always asking for teams and no one yet asked for AE ,im guessing its only in the good side .
btw i was in atlas park yasterday[i robbed a bank there with 7 more guys]it was quite empty .
[/ QUOTE ]
*Bwahahaha* Sweet. Actually missions like bank mayhems are instanced maps created on the mission server when the first player enters. The only players on the map are you and your team. If you had been in the actual Atlas Park you probably would've been fighting dozens of level 30+ heroes. Which would've been nearly guaranteed failure and frustration for level 5-10 villains.
Redside most AE activity is usually in Cap au Diable. Mercy Island is a rather out of the way zone with little to draw players, even if all characters start there, whereas CaD is a fairly central hub. Atlas Park, on the other hand, is a fairly central hub for blueside and characters start there. -

Well to become the games most reviled player he would need to know and have teamed with most of the people that play the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, not at all. It was never claimed he was reviled by most of the players, just that he was the most reviled. If this game was all happy sunshine and kittens, you might only need 3 people to hate you to be the most reviled.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but at the time he was operating there were at least a couple players who were reviled by a large portion of their server for bad PvE behavior, which meant they were far more widely despised.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure Stryke Force (or Stryker, or whatever the original player was called) was hated by more people for longer then Twixt. If only because he affected a much larger community: PvE Players.
[/ QUOTE ]i think that's what i just said without actually specifying names. There have been people like that on several servers at various times. -

I know that, but RttC's main purpose is Defensive so let's say it is a special case power and bend the rules to take into account RttC's main function which is the main tanking power of Willpower. It doesn't damage Mobs, just mildly debuffs To-Hit, similar to Invincibility, but in reverse and no where near as good as the Defense that Invincibility can generate.
The new rules may not have been targetted to Nerf Willpower and RttC, but that is what the new rules have done. The powerset is just about useless without the main regens from Willpower. And hey, a Nerf is a Nerf is a Nerf, even if it comes in the guise of a politically correct Nerf.
[/ QUOTE ]
No it's not a special case. IT AFFECTS THE ENEMY. Like Chilling Embrace, Invincibility, AAO, and other non-damaging auras. So in PvP it is detoggled by mez like any aura that affects enemies.
Invincibility is also a key power in Invulnerability, as AAO in Shields, what in the hell makes you think Willpower deserves special treatment?
[/ QUOTE ]Because it affects his character. -

Syfy is actually Polish slang for Syphilis.
Sci-fi should have used protection.

IIRC it's primarily slang for filthy/unclean/gross, with syphilis being the much more uncommon meaning.

They already have Moonlight, which is sort of like Forever Knight meets... Twilight? (Nah, not sappy enough.) -
There's been many excellent suggestions made in this thread and even less snark than expected. The OP has been very good about not overreacting to some of the needling and already has learned a lot. Excellent.
i do have have one question to ask: Instead of knowing why you suck lol, i'd rather know how someone can suck lol. How do you suck a lol?

Okay not only am I convinced this Optical Illusion guy is Twixt on an alt account but does anybody understand just what the heck he's talking about with this response?
[/ QUOTE ]
I doubt rational sense is important to Dr. Myers at this point.
My money is on him using his OPTICAL_ILLUSION alter ego to simply poke the player base in an effort to get us to insult him. Then he will use those insults in either another non-peer-reviewed paper or as a chapter in his vanity press book. I predict that he will be quoting the worst responses he can find here, of course, while not even mentioning all the rational, well-reasoned, well argued responses. Not to mention totally failing to quote himself and the things he said that garnered the insults.
[/ QUOTE ]
It would be consistent with the paper. Deciding on a conclusion in advance and then selecting only the evidence that supports the conclusion is almost the exact opposite of science. It seems clear that Dr. Myers either does not have a degree in a science, or he has rejected/forgotten the most basic principles of all sciences.
[ QUOTE ]
I have read this thread (and now my head hurts)
The first thing that popped into my head, in regards to what Mr. Myers was thinking when he wrote his "paper", was: "I reject your reality, and substitute my own."
[/ QUOTE ] Curse you! i wish i'd thought of that phrase first. It's a beautifully concise summary of what i've seen of the doctor's writings.
(The curse is not meant literally, i am not actually wishing some sort of mystical harm upon you. It's merely a humorously hyperbolic response. Not being Dr. Myers i'm pretty certain you already realize this.)
