i now invoke Rule Thirty Four upon Plug_Nickel's avatar.
Get to it, people!
/e evillaugh -
72 years ago, when i first laid the foundations of the code to make these forums for this game possible, i must admit i had failed to consider that it would make your avatar possible as well, or i would have taken steps to prevent it. This should be completely obvious in the very implementation of the internet i caused to be created for this very purpose. Yet you did it anyway.
The endless columns of Shatner are not amused. -

You mean like 33.3% acc and 33.3% dam for the HO versus a level 50 IO which has 26.5% acc and 26.5% dam ?
[/ QUOTE ]
Improper comparison.
Compare them to purples the other non-merit purchasable PvE loot. It's not pretty.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm, purples have a considerably less than 1 in 1000 chance of dropping when fighting level 47+ enemies. i know people who play 50's regularly and have not gotten more than one or two purples recipes in months.
You can get a guaranteed HO drop through the Statesman Task Force, Lord Recluse Strike Force and Hamidon raid. All of which can be completed in less than two hours with a competent group.
HO's are much easier to acquire than purples. -
Much of it looks great. Thanks for the vids and happy birthday!

If Neil Gaiman ever wrote a story for COH you know we'd all play it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Somehow I think the Penny Arcade people could get even more.
[/ QUOTE ]
I absolutely agree
[/ QUOTE ]
They'd probably write a story with a parody/homage of Neil Gaiman in it. -

I don't think we get those arm pouches...
[/ QUOTE ]
You have to unlock them through the Liefeld Task Force.
[/ QUOTE ]
+1 Comic Geek Cred to you!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Just as long as you don't use his name three times and bring the Liefeld curse of grotesque, inexplicable and bizarre anatomy upon the game. -

Have you tried purging your codecs and reinstalling the latest ones? Over here, I use the CCCP, and it hasn't failed me yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably a good idea, though i don't actually know how to purge and reinstall codecs.
What's the best method?
Wasn't CCCP the cyrillic initials for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics? -
Questioning it?
Not really.
This is the first MMO i played, although i had numerous friends who played others, but for the past five years i haven't really been questioning it so much as mostly ignoring it.
If not for occasionally teaming with players who are obsessed with fulfilling the trinity it would probably be almost totally ignored. Most of the people i team with regularly don't really care what AT's are brought to the team as long as there's some buff/debuff capability and most of the players are competent. The rare exceptions are for things like "Master of" runs. -
Urgh. i hate windows media formats.
For some reason Winamp and even Windows Media Player won't play them on my system, it just gives me an error message. -
i still find the decision to cram an AE building into nearly every single zone a bit odd.
i think the Devs were inspired by the way Starbucks and McDonalds are nearly every other block in some cities.
(Though a lot of Starbucks are now closing since the economy tanked.)
i personally think eliminating most of the AE buildings would be a good idea. Probably not going to happen though.
It's also rather funny that the WW and AE buildings are not in any of the instanced city zone mission maps. For some reason that really amuses me. Nostalgia? -
i'm sure it's been suggested before, but since i'm not seeing a thread related to it here....
How about making combat aura versions of most of the standard auras?
A number of the auras look good when in combat, but are annoying to look through and make less sense when traveling or idle, like vaporous aura on an ice blast user who only generates intense cold when fighting. -

really?
I enjoy Striga, Then again I never get to play it that much, I always forget and realized I out lvl'd the zone.

[/ QUOTE ]This has happened more times that i care to remember.
i was on a Maniac Slammers team the other day for a while. The team was mostly in the 30's, so things went fairly well, though we did have few near teamwipes. Still, it didn't take long for it to get boring. i can only join that sort of mission very occasionally.
It gets boring quickly. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hay i like people like that. There easier to control.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah. Good luck with that. -

what is the new deal these days? i dunno if i should roll a Rad/Rad Def, A Controller of some type or a DDD...any suggestions?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, roll what you ENJOY playing.
[/ QUOTE ]
i have four types of Dark Miasma Defenders past the mid-30's: Dark/Dark, Dark/Rad, Dark/Archery and Dark/Ice. i enjoy Dark Miasma's combination of debuffs to damage, tohit, resistance and regen with strong AoE control and a pet that's a debuffer of tohit, damage and regen itself. All of which makes Darks effective solo or teamed. You could say i took the above advice.
Then again i also like rad for similar reasons, but currently only have one high level rad Defender. -

Bane's Poisonous Ray is only ranged with no delivery tag
[/ QUOTE ]
Poisonous Ray does Toxic damage. It's clearly indicated in the power description. See here also.
[/ QUOTE ]
But that doesn't mean it's typed as toxic.
[/ QUOTE ]
The fact that toxic damage was added after launch and thus after the defense types were implemented has something to do with that. Adding additional defense types was not possible (or at least not worth the time required to rework the defense system) at the time toxic damage was added.
Before toxic damage was added Vahzilok puke damage was untyped, which meant nothing could resist it. The Devs at the time added in toxic damage so that it could be resisted. That's why typed defense based sets usually have toxic resistance in one of the powers even if everything else is defense.
Currently the game system only supports adding new types of damage for purposes of resisting the damage, not for defense. An oversight in the original design that has existed to this day.
Maybe Going Rogue will finally add the ability to add more defense types. That would be pretty cool. -

Um...didn't I?
Actual link is http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Stealth
[/ QUOTE ]
The link in your original post is http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Stealth at the moment i am posting this, which is the non-maintained wiki and yet the quoted link is the active wiki. How odd.
Stealth edit or some odd anomaly of the boards?
[i]Edit: Ah, Fleeting Whisper is being silly. Yeah, Terman8r, your original post currently links the inactive wiki. -

By naming S.G.'s in your post you are also pointing fingers, insinuating they are the ones deserving of bad publicity.
Which is something you don't appreciate right?
[/ QUOTE ]
i didn't get that impression at all. Just that some jackhole who didn't like another SG with Templars in the name got on the Stoned Templars vent to be an [censored] because they were an idiot. i didn't read it at all as blaming the other SG for the event. i thought she just wanted to make it clear that if you're mad at some other Templar named group to not vent it on Stoned Templars vent.
But that's me, and i don't necessarily read nuance well.

Great job on the schooling process so far guys.
Now just let more Pingus get ahold of StarChild and we will have them appropriately schooled... and damn Bronx for being on [censored] vacation while the schooling is happening.
[/ QUOTE ]
i second introducing StarChild to the Pingus. Irreverence and audacity (or say rude debt-magnets, whatever) make them entertaining to team with.
New patch has broken normal AV's by making them overpowered? (Like that time the Devs thought jacking AV regen through the roof was a good idea.)
The Pingu answer is to run a few TF's on Invincible to see if their AV's are affected as well. (They weren't, but it was fun anyway.) -
[ QUOTE ]
sigh...so is this item 4,082 that is broken?

Apparently only for you. That said, i hope CS clears this up quickly for you. Best of luck. -

Mistakes happen, you recieved an apology.
I don't think this post is at all called for. Deal with it,don't call out other S.G's with similar names.
((cranky and felt like venting))
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL were you the one that got drunk and went on their vent?
[/ QUOTE ]
It does sort of seem like it. Odd. i'd say more likely she's being defensive on a friend's behalf, but stranger things have happened. -
[ QUOTE ]
If Kat wants to stick to her origional idea there is no problem with that, i was just making a proposal to allow her to choose her own AV.
She is stuck with Chimera because that is the easiest one to find.
Schismatrix posted at the same time i did and did not see my above post. I answered his questions about timing the event and cheating.
[/ QUOTE ]
And how do you keep a player from having a group of friends with an AV-killer team from running the same AE mission number when the contestant gets it and then giving the contestant the code when they complete it?
Besides, as was already pointed out, the temporary power nukes and pets tend to trivialize most AV's regardless of what the player is actually using. i've been to 15 minutes in the jello Hami raids that used nukes and pets to burn straight through Hamidon and his mito spawns. Half the raid time was just clearing the first set of mitos so there was room to set up undisturbed, then a few minutes and Bam! Hami's down.
Actually having an observer in each mission the only way to keep it mostly honest. -
Awesome.
Now i just have to figure out which alt to try. -

Clouded, I believe it is a reference to powers that have been adjusted to an "Oh dear sweet little baby Jesus my eyes!"
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no need or point in making off-color remarks about off-color customization. Off color customization, remarkably, has not been discussed despite being [DELETED], which is not to say that it is exploitable.
Clouded, I don't think that its your post-lunch condition that makes this conversation hard to deal with, let alone to follow. Off-color customization is much harder to define that color customization, which is readily apparent. Just in case though, try it "Post-breakfast" instead, Raisen Bran being almost a metaphor for what I'm talking about. The farmers out there know what I'm talking about, which means [DELETED]. Not sure where the devs stand on this, though, atm.
[/ QUOTE ]
And i still don't know what the hell you're talking about. Your explanation/clarification (i think that's what it's supposed to be) makes no more sense to me than your original statement did to those you're responding to in this post. Maybe if i looked at it through a timecube it would?

Respec had a similar reputation, only in the case of respec it actually was quite difficult in its original incarnation. Respec also had an amazing set of urban legends surrounding its mechanics that would fill an entire episode of Mythbusters.
[/ QUOTE ]
Many of them persist to this day actually.
The most common and even near universal is that clicking glowies in the door mission before the reactor mission causes larger spawns and/or more frequent spawns and/or higher level spawns in the reactor core room.
Every time i join a respec team one or more teammates say this. At least now it's not uncommon that other teammates will say they're wrong. i tend to click a couple glowies every other trial or so just for the hell of it. Haven't noticed a difference in the reactor core mission yet.
