If you're don't like hovering i would suggest taking Hurdle instead of Swift and fitting in Combat Jumping if you can fit it in. Together they grant excellent mobility in anywhere but the tightest tunnels, and the protection from immobilization and air control in Combat Jumping allows you to easily retreat from battle when you need to fall back and regroup or to reach allies that need your help. The only downside is moving in hops.

i have a few melee types who use Hurdle and Combat Jumping as their only travel powers, and one who went Teleport for cross-zone travel and CJ+Hurdle for combat movement.

No, the Corruptor inherent doesn't even come close to doubling their damage.

Which just goes to show one man's meat is another man's poison.
i actually thought the ending firefight was a little too "Hollywood" and slightly less engaging, but it was pretty damn cool firefight anyway.

i saw this movie last night and it is well worth seeing in the theater. i agree with Sidney's review, though depending on how it's handled a sequel could be good or terribly, terribly awful. Overall i thought it was handled much better than most science fiction movies that build to an action climax. Even the characters that could be considered evil or bad were so in a more realistic, human manner.

One thing the movie reminded me of was how much many of Peter Jackson's films have shared with Cronenburg's in terms of elements of squick, nausea fuel and alienation/transformation of the body and/or mind. Especially if you look at the earlier films of both directors.

    Good movie, would watch again.

So you're saying that a thread titled "A Game To Pass The Time" is actually more appropriate in the Forum Games section? Heresy!

But the Tanker CAN transform into a Blaster at a trainer once every half an hour or so.
But does that mean that only certain AT's and power combinations would be allowed to dual-AT?
    Fire/Fire Blaster to Fire/Fire Tanker
    Stone/Stone Tanker to Earth/Nothing Controller
Spines/Dark Armor Scrapper to Nothing/Nothing Defender
    And so on.

From what i've seen using them they do not have Phantom Army's high taunt values, so definitely no more than any other pet. If you don't attack an enemy being smacked by Creepers, then there's a fairly good chance they won't attack you immediately.

That's why any time somebody asks in game how to get a costume piece, how to earn auras, a cape, etcetera i try to make the time to explain it to them. Informed players are happier players.

There are no straights either by that standard. Well, maybe Manticore and Sister Psycho, but then they might be bi, poly or just plain freaky, since all we know for sure is that they got married.

What Jack did is make CO more Customizable obviously. Of course, things like power color changing and different travel powers where his ideas to begin with. I also find it funny that the sidekick system coming to i16 is pretty much the same as it is in CO. Strickingly coincedental timing aside....I do hope both just get better than that other MMO's out.

And no I didn't play the PNP Heroes game, I was too busy having sex. But I'm sure I would have loved it.
As was already pointed out, some of us managed to do both. (Edit: Generally not at the same time, though there was this one girl...)

Now i'm not really sure why you're responding to my reply to Biff's post about how CoX is a ripoff of Champions' setting. Unless, of course, Biff is your second tr...awling account. Even so, my post was about Biff's post regarding the setting...

"...the names of certain groups/people were change to, ya know, avoid being sued or something" is not a reference in any way to power customization or the teaming/xp/power system. It's a reference to the setting and characters, and all of the major organizations and characters in CoX were created long before Champions Online was a twinkle in Cryptic's eye, so it would have to refer to the PnP game setting. Reading comprehension is useful.
In fact, the CoX setting bears much less direct resemblance to the Champions setting than much of the Champions setting does to the Marvel and DC universes. Attempting to argue from ignorance by responding to things that were not said or even relevant to the post you replied to is sort of dumb. Carry on. (i'm just saying that because i know you will anyway; i actually rather wish you wouldn't.)

Ummm, have you played Champions (the pnp version)? For most of its history the pnp game had no especially original characters. (Foxbat aside.) Almost all of the sample characters and settings provided were basically recolored versions of iconic Marvel or DC characters/organizations/settings. (Mechanon, especially the earlier versions, was such a direct clone of Marvel's Ultron it was amusing.)

Now Hero Games did eventually create a fairly distinct cast of characters and organizations, but the City of X characters and groups resemble the Champions settings and characters less than most other superhero settings.

Of course this is based on my owning most of the Champions material from the first box set to a variety of post Hero System Fifth Edition supplements. (Including the Fifth Edition release of the Champions setting.) You may have material for Champions that was never published outside of the Hero Games studios, but otherwise i don't see where you got that.

So far the features as announced will be significant QoL improvements for my CoX gameplay.
Pets zoning with owners will be a nice addition as well.
Energize for Electric Armor: also good.
Earth Assault: great for my upcoming Fire/Earth Dom, Magma Chamber.

So far everything announced for i16 that i've seen has been about expanded or upgraded mechanics and features. i'm hoping for some more storyline progression/content as well. *crosses fingers*

Wait, i thought the suggestion was to make Containment damage unaffected by buffs/debuffs? i see nothing wrong with the Controller bonus damage being limited in that manner. After all, they still can buff their regular damage. If it's possible to set containment damage up to ignore buffs/debuffs and still use enhanced values it's hardly that significant of a nerf, but it will reduce the more extreme effects of powers like Fulcrum Shift on performance.

i think we get it already. You're the sort of boring, pointless waste of complex proteins who derives some sort of dull, bland simulacrum of satisfaction by hanging out places that bore you and repeatedly saying that you find it boring. Yes yes, we get that you care so little that you keep reading and posting in a thread you don't care about to tell everyone how much you don't care.

  24. All in all i'm quite happy with the features Positron announced in this thread. Even without adding the ability to use higher level powers while exemplared/malefactored it will be a huge boon to teaming.

i'm actually rather indifferent about the 20% xp boost for those under 20. While i already tend to level faster than i necessarily want to, i can always turn off xp for a while if i want to avoid outleveling specific content, and already have done so on several alts.

i do not think datamining means what you think it means.

Data mining is generally done on the live servers since it's one way of analyzing activity and performance in the game on a large scale. While data mining can be used to find statistical outliers, it's not likely that anyone who discovered an exploit on test would repeatedly use it without sending a report. If they were intending to exploit it on live they would use it just enough to confirm that the exploits works and then stop using it, which would be hard to detect using data mining.

In any event, data mining cannot detect exploits until they are discovered and used by players. i'm sure data mining has allowed some exploits to be found, but until the Devs have the capability to data mine the future it won't reveal most exploits until after the players find them.
