Not necessarily, but there are bugs out there now that are much more "gamebreaking" than a bug that is indistinguishable from what the first four years of playing the game was like. Fixing it is good, but things like the Hess and Katie Hannon TF bugs actually do break certain aspects of gameplay, and are thus far higher priority.

    Iiinteresting. Tell us more.

Oh, and it's great to know that there was both a problem and that it has a straightforward fix. It's also reassuring to know it wasn't related to the accuracy nerf that happens in every new issue.

    And i'm not at work.

i mean, if we're going to reference historical figures for things that aren't even related to them...

Well, the python script compiled all the animation and fx scripts for each model and power. Presumably so that they could be used as the foundation for designing customizable animations and DX for each power that the scripts were pulled from.

It gave BAB a library to work with for designing the new setup, but each script was still used on the same model that originally used it. That's not nearly the same as adapting the animations to different skeletons. That requires altering each animation until it looks right, since animations made for one skeleton can look odd or just plain terrible when used on another.

Python script creates library with each book (script) still in its original language, python script does not translate library books into different languages (skeletons). At least that's how i understand it.
  6. A possibly related issue is that i was running missions with a level-pacted alt, the pact partner and a friend. Whenever the level-pacted pair leveled we got the inspirations, but no light show.

I then /bug it with a /loc coordinates, which everyone should do if they find a map hole.
A landscape of buildings jutting at odd angles like giant crystals. Strange how that's so different from the regular Boomtown.

Are you going by load rating at login or by doing a /search and comparing the results to pre-i16? Allegedly Freedom received a hardware upgrade to increase its capacity, which would also explain why it consistently reads a lower load than Virtue now.

September is usually a slower time for MMO's anyway, due to things like students and teachers returning to school, etcetera. Other games launching recently will hit numbers a bit as people flock to the new shiny. i've been following some of those other games a bit, and i expect we'll be seeing returns well before Going Rogue even becomes a significant factor.

Solo on Serge's level 20+ Costume slot mission. (Steel Canyon tailor.)
Difficulty setting is the base +0 level, no increased team size, no bosses, no AV's.
Ambush was 3 Ancestor Spirits, 3 (Yellow?) Ink Men, 3-4 "ninja in light colors" with caltrops and the like.
Convenient since the objective was to hunt Tsoo of course, but 3 flying SS/stun lt. and 3 mezzers might have been a bit tough for a squishy, so i'm wondering if this is intended ambush behavior. (The 3-4 Enforcers/whatevers were just squishy absorbers of splash damage.)

i'd have to dig through the patch notes, but i'm pretty sure they eliminated the limit on the auction house storage a few issues ago.

Pre-clan rules I relied on Archers and Catapults. Again, I have something of a long range playstyle. Give me a couple of Centurions or Enforcers as watchdogs and things were good.

    The Derail continues.
Pretty sure the original Marauder had an AC5, not an AC10. It was one of my favorite mechs back when i played pnp Battletech with a group of friends.

i always used modified Marauders. Usually dropped the PPC's to lg. lasers and the replaced the AC5 with a PPC. Beefed up armor and heat sinks a bit with the savings after adding some jump capability.

We were playing a Battletech RPG campaign and i helped the GM design a few enemy mechs.

One was a Battletech version of the Monster from Macross:

100 tons of barely mobile armor and weapons. (2/3/2 movement.) Having it pop up in an urban battle (literally, it was camouflaged in a gutted building) was a bit of a shock to the players.

We were a typical mercenary group who used salvage clauses in the contracts pretty creatively. Especially with one of the players being very proficient at Death From Above attacks with his medium mech. We salvaged quite a few "decapitated" heavies.

I wasn't really sure where else to post this, so I chose this forum. I just started playing CoX a few days ago. My girlfriend told me she wanted to play some type of MMO, and after some research, we settled on this one. (I also play EVE Online, but that isn't for everyone, and I don't want to go back to WoW) We both made villain characters and are having a blast. Wanted to introduce myself to the community.

I'm hoping this game will have enough varied content to keep us occupied for a while, since I know we are coming in 5 years late! So hello to all of you!
Welcome to the game. Always nice to see a new face. There's a lot of fun stuff to do blue (hero) and red (villain) side. i'd suggest reading some of the guides in the various forums and asking questions about anything you want to know. Most of the forumites are friendly and willing to help anyone who asks nicely.

The Paragon Wiki and Titan Network are also great resources.

Actually, though this is some time in the past, analysis done by Arcanaville and others showed that Brutes and (especially) Tankers would never get regen because it would be weaker for them than other sets, not even close to overpowered. This is especially true against alpha strikes, which is something Brutes and Tankers face often. (MoG is now pretty good for alphas, but still not always ideal.)

i suppose a reworked version of regen would be doable. Add some def and res toggles to help with alpha strikes and a reworked regen toggle that gets stronger with more enemies around you. Maybe add a theme like superior psi res and def to distinguish it from regen. Call it something like... "Willpower."

i think we'll get Succubi as Mastermind pets about the same time the other sets get female models.

i'm hoping for all original models for Demon Summoning. Which would be in keeping with all the other Mastermind pets, so i'm expecting we'll get them. Maybe some sort of demonic/monstrous centaur for the third tier pet.
(Quadrupedal skeletons would be a nice addition to the game anyway.)
  20. Hey now, they fixed pathing for bases. Though by fixed i mean "removed".
    ...
Still, the Devs did add stacking of base objects and the like.
    ...
Even if the Cathedral never gets remade it would be fun to eventually bring back base raids.

Yeah, i guess bases could still use some attention.

    [chain]?

i first saw Chain: at the bottom of character info windows after Dual Blades were added. My guess was always that for Dual Blades users it would list the various combos. i haven't played Dual Blades, so this is just a guess.
  22. Virtue also has an active villain community. The rest of Aggelakis' advice applies there as well.

They're also fighting in Founders' and Boomtown. Striga is still uncontested Council territory.

So the 5th Column is back in Steel Canyon, Boomtown, Independence Port and Founders' Falls. They've also been showing up in Sharkshead, but were already out of the game when it was introduced, so it's not a return. Still haven't seen any in the Rikti War Zone or Striga.
  24. i usually help new players learn about the game whenever they ask. i haven't been playing many lowbies lately, so it hasn't been that often the last couple of weeks.
i do always keep in mind that new player is not the same as idiot.
