Almost as cool as having Possessed Scientists (better yet, add Possessed Bureaucrats) randomly spawn in City Hall. Which actually makes a hell of a lot more sense than a modern city having moat monsters in the middle of heavily urbanized neighborhood. i mean, really, you can't go for a cup of coffee without Azuria calling you up to ask for help retrieving an artifact that was stolen from the MAGI vaults... again.

SRSLY
My DM/Elec/Mu Brute has recently been farming Rikti. To be fair, the Rikti started it, sort of kinda. My brute always had a loathing for the Rikti as part of the concept, and there's something addictive about watching Rikti Drones popping like popcorn, so when i had the option of setting it to spawn for 6... (Yeah, only 6, i'm not greedy.) Then when i was doing Dark Watcher's final mission i got a purple and two other recipes that my newly designed build needed. Positive reinforcement FTW.
So, yeah, now i will usually head to RWZ and farm Rikti for a bit when i play my brute, but it's all the Rikti's fault. -
Part of the problem is that shields are incompatible with several powersets for multiple reasons. For example, they cannot be used with two-handed/dual weapons due to how attachment points on the character models work. i'm not sure which would be more fun: locking out a character's primary/secondary when they use a shield, or locking out the shield set.
Personally i would be greatly amused by the former. -

Generally each Malta spawn should have 1 Sapper at most. i rarely see more than 1 Sapper for every 4 or 5 spawns, but it varies. Of course if your mission is spawning for 8 there may be closely grouped or overlapping spawns at some points on the map. And bugs have occasionally popped up in the spawning rules, but i haven't seen multiple Sappers in the same spawn for a long time now.

Quote:No, i'm not saying i don't get lag, i'm just saying that the lag in amount and frequency does not correlate to the presence or absence of customized powers. The RWZ raid after i16 came out was insanely laggy for me, but it wasn't graphical lag for the most part, it was distinctly server-related lag. (When a power takes five times longer than normal to recharge that's not graphics issues; especially when i can still move, occasionally fire off one my fast cycling powers and watch the rest of the fight's pretty colors while waiting.) Server/connection/latency issues have been an occasional problem since i16 went live regardless of whether customized powers are in use.The question wasn't posed to complain. In fact I am not experiencing any lag problems, then again I haven't been to a rikti raid for a while now. Op was more out of curiosity. This thread is definitely differing from what I am hearing ingame. Everyone here pretty much says it has nothing to do with powers or are not noticing a significant difference in lag. Ingame I am seeing complaints left and right. I guess the people with lowend systems don't frequent the blue boards . :-)

Quote:Umm, for a bit, some may have. Certainly not the most recent posts, and hardly for the whole thing. So... yes? Sort of? Not since several days ago? Only some posters? You guys really turned a thread about Storm and Dark into another "lol healers" thread? Really?
Don't we have enough of those?
Err, i mean, YES! That's exactly what the whole thread has been about! i'm so ashamed! *hides fez in shame* -

Quote:Actually, i try to convince myself that i personally killed the thread. Especially if it was active until my post. Then i put another notch in my bedpost. (Yes, i'm a strange, confused person. Even worse, my bed has no posts, so i've been using a pirate's wooden leg instead.)Nah - I do that - not everyone has time to check the forums every day, so sometimes I don't notice a topic I'd like to contribute to until 4-5 days later. Worst that can happen is no-one posts after you and you feel like a thread-killer, but then you can just convince yourself it was dead anyway before you posted

Lately i've actually formed/lead more teams than in the past. Usually, especially redside on Champion, i'd just set my LFT flag and run missions soloing unless a friend or someone on a global channel announces something that interests me. However, recently i've found myself leading teams simply because someone sent me a tell saying they were looking for a team. i figure two (or more) is more entertaining than one and invite them. Then sometimes they mention that someone else who they teamed with earlier is back and looking for a team. So i invite them.
Since i make no real effort to recruit most of my teams have been 2-5 members, but if a teammate mentions that someone needs a team i'll send them a tell asking if they want to join and then invite them if they say yes. So i guess i've taking up some of the slack for the f4rmz0rz or something.
i've found that running casual teams is pretty easy. i look over the list of missions, ask if anyone has a mission they want to do, and then set a mission. -
Quote:This alone implies that Power Customization is not the culprit. Last RWZ raid i did had far more severe lag than prior to i-16, but i've had periods of severe lag while soloing with no customized powers, so i think it's server and/or ISP related.A few fellow raiders mentioned the same thing, in comparison to the Mothership Raid. Just the odd fact that Mothership Raids have been struck by this lag issue while Hami Raids are still truckin' along with little to no difference.
The last few days the lag's improved for me, and if anything i'm seeing more customized powers now. -
Quote:The one that each player enjoys the most. What's the best build for a controller? Everyone has an idea but is it Proven to be the best?
The most popular for farming is Fire/Kin, which is not the best for defeating GM's or AV's. Except in fairly narrow criteria there is no 'best'. You provided no description of what you want to do with the Controller.
Now i've heard that in some MMO's certain classes/specs/AT's are far better than the others. This is not one of those MMO's. As already stated, your best bet would be to ask in the Controller forums. (And get pretty much the same response: best at what?) -
Fortunately that's no longer a problem. Unless they do it by refusing to invite you to the team.

Quote:i rather agree. Invincible-equivalent T/SF's has been a major source of keeping the game interesting.Add me to the list that wants to make sure that the +level difficulty option remains for TFs. I did an ITF last night on the equivalent of 'Unyielding' simply because my team was capable of it. I'd have hated for that team to run at +0/+0.
Also, taking away the difficulty options for Oro will, frankly, kinda suck.
i really, really hope removing the ability to adjust T/SF difficulty is just an interim step. Implementing the original settings as a T/SF-only menu would be preferable to keeping fixed difficulty (in my opinion). -
Quote:So, wait, alleging that the Devs secretly lowered the drop rates for some esoteric reason and then suggesting when they finally announce that they've actually located the buggy code that they're actually trying to cover up a stealth nerf is not a conspiracy theory? Not really sure that recipe drop rates in CoX are anywhere near this dramatic, nor has anyone actually proposed a 'conspiracy theory " in here - least of all me, but go ahead and try to twist the issue; this is an old tactic and....yeah.... its old. Talk about straw men...!
It's actually pretty much a classic example of a conspiracy theory. Then again, i've seen you be so far wrong about other things that you weren't in the same hemisphere as right and then when your error was conclusively disproven aggressively accuse others of actually being the wrong ones, backpedal, sidestep and deny your error that i'm not really surprised. Ah well, we need a few nattering nabobs of negativism as good bad examples of how not to conduct discussions/arguments.
Carry on.
Edit: i really find it amusing that BI considers it "dogpiling" any time most others disagree, and definitely not a sign that perhaps most informed players actually know better. -
Quote:Damn those selfish Devs!Of course, the Devs could just cure cancer, but unfortunately the Devs are too self-centered to do that!
i am disappointed in that i like running TF's on max occasionally for the fun, but i have confidence that this is a temporary measure. Still, i understand the change with all the people running Master of <blah> on -1, which just cheapens it. i do hope this is very temporary. Some way to disable -1 setting for TF's would do it for me. Or maybe reinstate the old difficulty for S/TF's. -
Quote:i've heard rumors that during the i16 release Freedom received a hardware upgrade, but i haven't found any official statements that confirm it. The last couple of weeks Freedom has shown a lower load than Virtue, which seems a bit odd since in the past it's almost always been a fair bit higher.I typically play on Virtue, and I haven't noted a lesser headcount (either when looking for teammembers via search, see the crowds in Wents, etc..). The only thing I have noticed is the server bulbs when logging in. For months, both Virtue and Freedom servers were at least yellow during prime playing times. Post=I16, they're often green, just like the rest of the servers.
So, at least for two servers, this does seem to indicate possible lower populations. Even so, as others say, I've yet to see a noticeable decrease in team invites, etc.
Still, there are some shiny new MMO's that just launched, and schools starting up always reduce population around this time of year, so it's hard to say. -

Anyway... since it turns out it was just because Hassen*coughcough* wanted him to look at Hassen*coughcough*'s base as an example of base editors capabilities and suggestions for improvement it appears that no dreams were broken in the issuing of your correction. *whew*
(Very interesting base design from what i saw of the screenshots.) -

Quote:A few of Synapse's posts regarding drop rates being off:I run my demon farm set at 0/8 and generally have to visit the stores to sell salvage/recipes/enhs after each run.
I see no borked drop rate at all.
Maybe those who do believe its borked are just running crappy farms/missions.
Quote:I just wanted to let you know you can probably stop recording data, a fix for this should be making its way to the training room fairly soon. Your drop analysis there, when this patch hits the training room, would be very useful. Thanks for everyone's diligence, and believe it or not the bug had nothing to do with team size, what map you were on, whether you were in taskforce mode or not or anything else mentioned in this thread.
Regards,
SynapseQuote:Not this either. I think it would be best if Pohsyb explained it. Sounds like an old bug that appeared to somehow manifest in I16. Personally, I blame it on code gnomes. They're up to no good, it's just their nature.

PS: I love the tags on this thread. They've made me laugh, boggle and shake my head. "devs dont care"Not true! "devs dont care" okay, that's better.
