Quote:I've seen the same name more then once. No idea if it's the same GM or they rotate names / have shared accounts like they used to do with the Moderator 1-20 accounts. I have the feeling they have a standard tech support manual list of questions they're supposed to ask to assess the situation. That would explain what Hamster has expereinced in his above post. It's been over a year since I've had to call a GM. Do they have unique names? If so I think it may still be worthwhile to gather player experience data.
"Can you see my text?"
"Do you still need assistance?"
"What is the name of the contact and the title of the mission that is giving you difficulty?"
"How can I help you today?"
"What are you wearing?"
"Do you need any other assistance?"
This is all well in good, but it can be annoying. If your original petition says "Mob fell through floor on a kill on during Positron TF," just irritating if they ask you what the contact for the mission is and if you tried dropping it. Not hugely irritating (not wanting to seem like some whiney emo), but it makes it look like they didn't read what you typed or they don't know basic game mechanics.
Wonder how much training these guys get.

You know, my main customer support complaints are mainly that they at times seem massively ignorant of the way the game works. I've never had a gm fail to solve the problem that I called him for, but I've had them ask if I tried dropping the mission on a task force, who the contact/mission giver is for the Statesman/Positron/Manticore/etc task force, and a few other similar questions.

Odd; the last half dozen times I've needed a GM for stuck mobs on TF's or bugged repairmen in STF the wait time has been 20 minutes or less. Maybe they just don't like you? :0

You know, the name The_Ackmage would be pretty good too. Do a whole Bill the Cat theme. Go around using magic with a bunch of ack ack phhiippttttt binds.

Positron said it was going to be really transforming to the game and would include things like the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, and dogs and cats living together. But since they were afraid of mass hysteria if too many vague details were released before it went live, they've been keeping a tight lid on things.

Quote:Next time, don't rebrand unfunny (and potentially politically charged) pop-culture references with a thin veneer of game relevance, and then expect people to laugh instead of seriously debating the implications of such a policy.

/QUOTE]
Somebody already beat me to a line about Heroes not being the ones to think about Genocide. Heroes also are unlikely to think about breaking regulations and rules. If you're familiar with the story-line of CoH, Heroe's weren't always accepted with open-arms by the communities of the world. In many cases, beings with meta or super-powers are still viewed with suspicion, hatred, disgust, and other negative emotions.
While Supergroups, Anti-Heroes, and Aliens are more accepted in today's Paragon City... the rest of the world treats the quarantined zone with a bit of... distrust?
Statesman alone wasn't responsible for the fight against the Rikti. He worked with a wide range of other organizations and super-powered beings directly. As such, I'm not really sure he can be faulted with not wiping out the Rikti when he was probably physically capable of doing so. As was revealed in the external comments, Statesman's Freedom Phalanx aren't really the optimum group for taking the fight to the Rikti to begin with.
Was it a mistake for the Power's of Paragon City's Dimension to not wage war against the Rikti? Or against the 5th Column? Or against the Praetorians?
In some aspects... yes. In other aspects, a peace treaty with the majority of the Homeworld Rikti Society is within reach... as those who play through the RWZ arcs find out. Perhaps once the Rikti Lord of War is defeated once and for all, a genuine peace can be discussed, and we'll find out what super-powered threats the Rikti face in their world.
WOah.
I mean, like, man...
While a few people in the thread have had to duck to avoid the joke flying over their heads, I'd have to guess that the joke is entering low orbit as is passes over you.

Been sitting in base storage for several years now. Can't list it on the market.
Anyone want it? -
Quote:He's right to be suspicious; it's no coincidence that forty percent of all sick days are taken on Mondays and Fridays. In my life there is sick and there is work sick. If am sick its usually just bad one terrible day. Work sick involves a slight headache and maybe a tiny bit of a throat ache.
I am bored too btw.
Here is the real story... I have to be nearly dead to call in sick on a Monday or Friday. I never want my boss to think I am extending my weekend. In 13 years I may have called in sick on those days once. I am also bad of coming to work and trying to make it, when I would never expect or demand that of my staff. Heck even my boss would rather I just stay home sick.
Lets talk about vacation days. I don't get how people take whole weeks off at a time. I can only remember taking a whole week off since I started working once. I like taking an extra day for a 3 day weekend or slipping out a few hours here and there.
While you may find my response dull, it did entertain me for a few momemts. -
I could go for Sister Psyche.
-
Hmmm.
I could have sworn that turning off "special" would remove the compass, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Was that changed or am I just imagining things?

Quote:Well, keep in mind where a lot of vets are. Lot of level 50's, so there's no huge hurry to get another one to 50, especially with "xp smoothing." Generally a lot of influence, so money isn't as important (depending on whom you talk tostarting to notice that vets are not fans of DXP weekend......I hope I do not feel the same way when I'm a vet, both times I've been told DXPW is coming I get really excited, same with the rikti invasion weekends, I don't want to lose the pumped for something feeling. XD
).
And then there's the annoyances over the disruption that double xp does to the markets.

Going to start weekly threads next week... Maybe.
Team Hamster ran through the last two arcs in Faultline and then did a full set of safeguards for the 20-25 exploration.
Next week, I'm bouncing between going straight into Striga or running a random / rarely seen 20-25 contact.
Also:
Running Posi and Synapse this Saturday with my Isolator, if anyone would like to join / catch up.
Current target level is 24.
