Oh, we can see it happen.

Your format leads a bit to be desired...
CoV was a good idea but with poor implementation and negative long term effects. I said at the time and I think history has proven this correct; they do not have the player base nor the resources for two games. CoV itself was done fairly well. The missions were well above the quality of most of the CoH missions. While the AT's didn't mesh as well as blue side, individually they were done well and most well suited for solo play. But look at the player bases; you divide each server into camps that can't play with each other, except a limited number of task forces/repeatable missions that were added later on. You have to add content that only one side can play. Look how hard it is to get a team going a lot of times red side. A lot of times there's only a few dozen people online red side on Victory.
I've always felt that CoV was put in as a way to force/encourage/as a vehicle for zone pvp, which has largely been a failure. Sure it's popular in other games, but CoH hasn't really taken a shine to it.

Total numbers of active players during peek times needs to be high enough for people to, well, team/play the game.
CoV was and always has been a mistake on the devs part. They keep trying to fix this mistake, GR being the most recent example. -
Quote:Frankly, they should have done server merging years ago. Just before superbases.2. Is this a precursor to server consolidation? I don't know that this would happen before GR drops (assuming it doesn't end up being vapor-ware), but I'm sure migration patterns are being recorded. Unfortunately, from what I can tell, Victory is hemorrhaging people. Lack of any substantial new content, newer games, and a general 5.75 year old game malaise have all contributed to this issue.

Quote:Dude, you've GOT to play Mass Effect 2, regardless of content.Honestly, a year ago this would not have been a question. Hamster would have gotten the bases without question. We were both co-founders after all. However, he's basically in the same boat I am. You can only play the same TFs or missions so many times before you just can't stand them anymore. Without new content I'd rather be playing Mass Effect 2 or one of the dozens of games I bought over the Steam holiday sale.

Part of me has nerd rage that Kong is discussing giving away my supergroups, but the other part of me is also up in the air as well on staying in CoH.
Still going to choke him, through. -
I keep this bookmarked:

You know, I don't mind doing arcs/missions. What I DO mind is the moronic amount it takes to get story arcs going with a lot of the early contacts; they're out in the middle of no where, they take 5+ missions to get phone call level, and they stick a half dozen hunts and/or tutorial fedex missions in the middle of everything.

Eh. Was finishing dinner.

Tonite: Meeting 7.15
Target level: 44ish
The Plan: 40-45 content. Team Hamster will be in Crey and Rikti arcs, iirc.

For those unfamiliar with the group, Isolators was started shortly after badges were introduced to the game. This was in the dark, dreary times before global chat, global tells, or even coalition chat. Back then, the only way to find a person from the forums was by chance or pre-arranged meeting.
The Isolators project was started so the people who post here in Victory could actually meet and play together, so that you could have some fun with the people you chat with online. Everyone made a new character for this new group. This is an once a week supergroup that plays every 8 pm Wednesdays.
When the vast majority of the group hits 50, we start a new run of the group, switching between CoH and CoV between runs.
You don't have to be an active forum poster to join, through it's encouraged. At the very least, be a member of the community; run missions, join in advertised task forces, etc.
If you're interested in joining up this run, please feel free to post interest here. Everyone is welcome.
A few notes:
Everyone is welcome.
Not everyone is welcome.
This is an once a week sg. If the group ends up at level 20 at the end of the night, please don't show up next week at level 25.
If you're a few levels behind due to playing less, don't sweat it, but try to catch up on your own or with a task force if you can.
We play 8 pm eastern on Wednesdays. -
We'll have to have a party for him in pocket d. With punch and pie.
More people will come if there will be punch and pie. -
Sorry for missing it; got caught on the phone until 10.
Then the Klingons attacked.

Where do you think mmorg GOT these? :0
Eh. Assuming it's part of their promotion/marketing agreements. They give X no. of keys to sites like that in exchange for them promoting the game. -

Depends on the size of the raids. If the raids are equivalent of task forces, I don't mind. Plus large space battles rock.
:0
One nice thing about ST:O; it's setup like CO and Guild Wars. Only one server. -
Target level looks to be 44. Team Hamster ran a lot of the 40-45 Rikti and Crey arcs, still have a few missions left on each.
Doing a "no xp while exempted" 2nd respec tonight, 8:30 eastern. -
-
I'm up for all three; random defender for each one. Assuming that this is for January and not December like you originally posted.
-
I like how you responded to me before you edited your post.
At least we know what's more important to you. -
Respec doesn't hurt, through as Vood said, not hugely needed. Another character slot is nice.
The last vet rewards was nicer / more useful. -
I have this on a few characters.
The nuke is excellent as is the single target hold. The body armor is good; at min, you can slot -mez and -kb in it, even if you don't four or five slot it. -
Quote:I'm not sure if I can commit to a December task force at this date.Combo Deal : Moonfire | Hess | Katie - Saturday | 12/16 | 930 PM EST
This will open up the levels for others if interested. You do NOT have to do all 3, but it would mighty kind if you did. Will probably be about 45 min per each one, and will start ASAP once Moonfire is filled and ASAP for each other when the full team is there. If interested, please specify for each one. I'll make a list later if necessary.
Edit: For Shamster clarity, yes, these are all Defender ONLY -
Tonite: Meeting 7.14
Target level: 44ish
The Plan: 40-45 content. Team Hamster will be in Crey and Nemesis arcs, iirc.
