Ice sword doesn't bother me as much as fire sword. Ice is a solid, you can form into specific shapes, fire is not.
I was also never as bothered by the eyebeam attack in the radiation set as I was by the fire breath for some reason, but I can see why others would be.

The one that made me sad was the discovery that my options for Frozen Sword are a sword, or a BIGGER sword. But I don't want a sword! The reason I don't have that power is that the sword is antithematic for me.
Or at least a flaming sword model for the current sword sets.

So I've been hitting the tailor now and then as I've been running characters through Mender Jerkface's alpha unlocking arc. Getting rid of the long hated mouth based fire and ice attacks. So I finally get around to my one rad blast character, delighted to be able to get rid of the freaking eye attack and it's.... Practically the same freaking animation, still from the eyes!
Now I have the option of leaning with only ONE shoulder when I eye someone rather then two, wooooo!

The hell, animators? Did you not get the point that a lot of people hated eye and mouth attacks when EVERY other attack of theirs comes from the hands?

I've been mainly unlocking alpha slots.
Did a STF last night and at the last minute decided to get a ham-o instead due to the shard drop rate. Ended with seven shards and a crappy Ham-O.

Really wish they'd up the merit drop rate outside of ship raids. Hell, at the very least, give Rikti zone raids some love. -

Actually...the players DEMANDED it. When the were giving away jet packs as a promo to new players, there was a massive stink about it on the forums. Despite the fact new players only got the jet packs for 30 days, many existing players whined about them. So...to meet the demands of the crying players...the devs made them available as an add on pack.
The Devs hands are clean on this one.

I don't know about the CoH-only version, but (as much as I hate saying things like this) I think the jet pack thing is just a way to con stupid people out of $5. And I don't blame the devs for that; that's a marketting issue.
But, whatever works for them, I guess. I'm happy the server lights are staying on, and I'm not paying for anything that I personally don't find worth the money, so... *shrug*

Those boosters aren't on sale. Just the Cyborg, Magic and Science Boosters, the Wedding, Mac and GVE Packs and the (lulz) 30-Day Jetpack.

Current target level: 41ish.
Team Hamster finished off the Envoy of Shadows arc then ran through the entire revised Preatorian arc. So glad the "defeat clockwork for data" mission is gone. Next week, going to run the Hydra Dimension mission so everyone gets that badge then go into running random missions from the other 40-45 contacts until an arc opens up. -

They are not tradeable. Sorry if my comments inplied such. My point was more comparison to Shards to Vanguard merits. Shards really aren't that hard to get. Sure, the first week folks will whine about drops, but there are only but so many things you can do with them.
I suspect most folks will decide on the Alpha enhancement they want ahead of time and only worry about getting the one. After that, you'll just start stock piling Shards in anticipation for I20. My main will likely end up with every tier 2 Alpha enhancement in about a month. She's not getting them because she has to. She's getting them because I play the character that often anyways. My alts will get them eventually, but no rush.
Ask your self "How many times have I run ITF with this alt?" STF? LGTF? I now most of my alts have run these TFs 2-3 Dozen times...atleast.
