Quote:I believe you can stack 5 of the same name, which is usually but not always the same thing as 5 of the same magnitude. But for example there is a 7.5% recharge bonus that has a different name than the 7.5% Luck of the Gambler recharge, so it stacks separately and you can have 5 of each. You can stack 5 of the same magnitude of bonuses for each type.
And as to the OP's question of how you can see all your set bonuses, you can look at the Combat Attributes window. Click your Powers menu and then click Combat Attributes at the very top. That brings up a new window. You can expand the Base section to see the Recovery Rate section that all the recovery bonuses you've got. It lists them by bonus name, but doesn't list the power they're coming out of. -
When I posted this build, I used Short Forum Export, Fruit Salad color setting, phpBB/Zetaboards markup. Seemed to work fine.

I hope they don't limit it to 8 max. I've been on many teams that had experienced players with carefully tweaked builds. In that situation they steamroll everything. If this system allows a solo player to create a mission spawning for more than 1, it should allow a team of 8 to spawn a mission set for 9 or 10.

Sorry for the vague thread title; I was stumped how to summarize this. Basically this isn't a request for new travel powers (although those would be fun!), but rather new animations and costume options that would apply to flight.
1. Flying carpet/hoverboard/flying cloud. All different graphics but keeping the mechanics of Fly.
2. New Tech wings that folded when not flying but when in flight expanded to fixed wings that had rockets/props/jets on them. No flapping please! They'd let me do something like this:

Quote:Not really. I had a heck of a time when I was a new player with a Tech origin character. Many of the names were so confusing. I ended up making all my characters Mutation just because the names were so clear.Have any of you ever been able to make much sense of the names for science or magical enhancements?
I wouldn't mind a revamp of the store UIs, for sure. -
Quote:Click here and it'll all make sense. Are the devs talking about anding a heal or regen to consnserve power for brutes? it would certainly make good swnse.

Speed_Force, as food for thought here's my current "uber Brute".
The only insanely expensive IO on this build is one of the empty slots in Deflection. It's for the Gladiator's Armor 3% unique. The other slot is a Gladiator's Armor Resistance IO for the 2.5% recovery bonus. The reason I have a generic EndMod in Stamina is that the build is at the limit for 2.5% recovery bonuses. Switching it to a Performance Shifter would not yield any additional bonus.
Mids doesn't show it (because it hasn't been updated to deal with PvP IOs yet), but with the Gladiator's Armor unique, the build is over the Defense soft cap in melee/range/AoE with no teammates in range.
The main weakness this has in survivability compared to SR is less defense debuff resistance (gotta be careful when surrounded with debuffing foes like in the ITF), and it lacks SR's scaling damage resist. On the other hand, AAO buffs damage while debuffing enemy damage and Shield Charge is a massive damage PBAOE.

I think it'll be a whole new game in i16. With the new Energize power providing a self heal, seems like after Power Surge wears off you can do Power Sink then Energize and you're back in business. I am for sure going to dust off my old ELA brute when i16 hits.
-
Yeah, the advice to avoid slotting CI with procs still holds. Other than that it's a great power.
-
It took me a while before I realized this but it's most definitely true. If you're solo you'll very occasionally run across a boss. But if you're on a team as small as 3 people you'll get boss spawns like crazy.

Quote:I have a lvl 50 Brute (SS/WP) that just owns everything that I come in contact with. I'm trying a couple different Tank builds right now (DA/BS, Inv/SS). I am looking for a PvE build or build advice. The tank's are both lvl 34ish now and before I get to far into them I figured I'd ask the question of what build own's it over here. I'd even be open to a scrapper if the build is right and not squishy. Any advice would be appreciated.Quote:What type of Tank can deal out alot of damage and hold his own against EB's? Not to mention one that isn't an inspiration poping nightmare.Quote:OK, so I'm not nuts. Tanks cannot dishout what my lvl50 Brute can do. I was wondering because around lvl 30 on my Brute i was like man i need to up the Diff big time. But i must say that this Brute can take a massive amount of damage. The real big bite in the butt is i missed double exp weekend. Well...I think to make a scrapper I go. And thanks to everyone that posted a reply.
As to what scrapper to make, that's open to debate. People have different preferences as to focusing on single target vs. AoE, and whether damage mitigation in the primary is important. Same tradeoffs in secondaries. I have an SR scrapper that is softcapped in defense and thus has incredible survivability. But I have a Fiery Aura scrapper that puts out more damage due to Fire's damage aura and Burn. So you still have decisions to make, but it was absolutely the right move for you to go from Tank to Scrapper in terms of what you're looking for. -
I like the idea of adding badges or better yet variable reward bonuses for defeating more mobs in a TF, but no thanks to "defeat all". Some maps are simply huge, and problems like having an enemy being knocked back through a wall happen all too regularly.
If true scaling rewards can't be added, then maybe have a fixed challenge counter for each TF, like "defeat 1000 enemies". -

OP, a better place for this would be the official forum feedback thread.

Wrong forum. Post this in Jay's costume request thread in the Developer's Corner forum. He reads all the suggestions in that thread.

Quote:The key to doing Posi fast is a small team. Two to three people max. The larger the team, the slower it goes.Actually, the challenge setting I'd set for Positron's? Time Limit. To the best of my knowledge, I've never been on a team that's done it in less than four hours, usually closer to five. Nothing against the teams I've been on, just the way that it's gone, even when we feel like things were moving along smoothly.

Zombie_Man, I'm loving the hero skin. Thank you SO much. Really awesome.

Quote:I'd say more fun. I remember taking a strong solo character through the Footsteps Initiative and the Pandas vs Rikti arcs; both had me laughing out loud. But those arcs (and many other well-written ones) really reward you taking the time to read all the dialog, clues, contact text, etc. I always feel too rushed on a PuG to do that.Right now, I think teaming with friends or soloing stories you like the look of is the best way to play the AE if you're not into farming/PLing.
If you're with friends, and the object is just to play through interesting missions in the AE, then you can have just as much fun there as in normal missions.
EDIT: as long as I'm recommending arcs, I better include Saul Rubenstien's Discount Task Force by Ascendant, and Turg Fiction: Ghost in the Machine, Act 1 by Turvenev -
Quote:For me that used to be a concern. I especially hated characters that used spaces in between the letters in lieu of punctuation, like "S U P E R D U D E". Bleah. Agonizing to type out to send a tell to.That's what I was saying - it's less confusing, and better punctuatiuon, to use a "-" somewhere in the middle instead.
But now that you can just click someone's name in the chat window to send a tell, it's quite rare that I have to bother to type a name out at all. I can send an invite to ".xxXX-Ub3rD00d-XXxx." as fast as I can to "Joe".
Well, that's not entirely true. I'd never team with a character named ".xxXX-Ub3rD00d-XXxx." -

Quote:Note that they said they want compelling new end-game with "challenges that make current challenges seem like a piece of cake", and they want to give you the ability to make your level 50 "a more powerful level 50". That latter point is key: not just new end game TFs, but a way to make your character more powerful that doesn't involve increasing the level cap.The developers have stated clearly in the panel at this year's Comic Con, that they are working on "post 50 content that's more challenging than anything you've ever seen".
As I'm fond of repeating, this reinforces that they're going to be implementing the Universal Enhancement System that was mentioned in in the August '08 marketing survey.
None of us can say how compelling the new end game stuff will be, but at least we know for sure the devs are working hard on it.
EDIT: wow, I just clicked the "Last edited by Sardan" link at the bottom, and was surprised to see the detailed display of the edit I initially made. That's pretty cool!
