Not sure where to post this so figure i'll give it a go here.
Currently looking to get a new graphics card (maybe next month or so). Not sure what to get tho. Nvidia is ok, but with their current issues with crashing under vista. Ati on the other hand have some other issues where they can't do the same stuff or something. I'm really clueless, i used to know some stuff... in the era of 3dfx, but now i've not kept up at all.
I guess what i mostly want is some comparison between most of the cards on the market. Like... how does a Novdia 8800GTS measure up to a 9800 or a GTX 260 or an ATI HD4870. And all their g'dam prefixes, suffixes and so on...
I got no idea which is faster or whatever, i got an idea what they cost tho, but sometimes the gain in performance doesn't match the cost.
I have an 8800 GTS now, would it be a significant boost if i could get another and run em SLI? and so they have to be the same card brand and model? or could i get an 8800 GT from another supplier? cause i cannot really see em for sale any more :| -

Never said i did, but i have played this game since it launched in april 2004. Kinda gotten a feel for how devs go about things.

I am quite ontopic, i'm very keen on seeing dual pistols make it into the game, i was merely pointing out you're going at the wrong way. Head over to suggestion forum and *make* suggestions, not voting between old ones >< -
Take advatage of the fact double xp weekends are very active, i will play with my friends. Will see if that will entitle making new toon to play or get some exsisting ones up some.

in the off chance that a dev looks through the uk forums, they could spot which ideas seem most popular and use some of the ideas in there own implementation.

Devs can get ideas, yes sure. Thats why we have suggestion part of the forum. There are threads about dual pistols there, way way way more then the four Sorudo posted, and more than likely been summaried and submitted to the devs.
Voting between em will do naught, nil, zip, zero, nada.
The time when our input will actually make a diffrence, is when they are beta testing dual pistol set. The devs are infinitaly better at balancing out the sets than we are. Castle has shown that they are indeed willing to listen to us on ideas and such.
But the dual pistol set ain't there yet. So far we can only pretty much say that we'd like the dual pistol set, devs have said it'll come, eventually. We can post ideas on powers which we would like to see. But voting on the powers is nearly useless.
Much better to post ideas in the suggestion forum.
Like "I would like a dual pistol power where you shoot every around you like from movie equlibrium" or "I would like dual pistols to work combos much like dual blades" etc etc. -

The current shield defence is stupidly low resistance to any form of debuff, malaise alone can get you to -300% in seconds on a tank with 3 purples popped.
There should at least be an IO to improve what the devs failed to notice on test.

They didn't fail to notice anything...
1: learn to slot shields.
2: shield have actually one of the highest def debuff resistances of all sets, only super reflex is higher. -

Hopefully we'll see more top quality issues, more power sets, more content etc etc. -
This is an error i get every now and then. I used to get it much more often, but here's what i did to lessen it.
1: Get the window vista hotfix, doesn't fix it, but makes it happen much less.
2: try diffrent drivers, this is a lengthy process, i installed one driver, played for a week, then got another version, played for a week, if i crashed more of less i either stuck with it or went back to old one.
3: when you crash, reboot. don't restart coh or anything, just reboot on the spot. I cannot explain it, but it's totally random. Sometimes i can play for days without a single crash. Reboot comp, and then suddenly crash within 15 mins, reboot again and it's crash free for days until i reboot again. Usually seems best when i actually shut off the comp, then start it up. -
Yea it's kinda easy to level up now...
My sword/shield scrapper is already 50 and i didn't go out of my way to level fast. Did bunch of TF's exemplared down etc, avoided solo etc. -

Just looked at your image, and it is showing way way more fog in St. Martel than is visible on my machine. It must be your graphics card/settings.
It doesn't look all that unrealistic though. If anything there is to much obscuration of the sky background, but insufficient reddening.

Yea, agre with PRAF, i went over to st martial and it's much less foggy than it is on your screenshot. Not sure what setting causing it look like that tho.
Can't say i have much "fog" at all, it just blurs out at a long distance. -

How people get under 45 on the advanced is beyond me
Ran it for prob 20 times in a row and no matter what i did, i landed consistently between 45 and 47 secs. -
Ok, level 47, most of the slotting is done, this is pretty much how it looks like now. Except i don't have IOs in Head splitter yet, and missing 2 slots from stamina. Also missing the knockback resist io in combat jumping.
Head splitter and Deflection havn't gotten their IOs yet, but prob will as soon as my bids go thru, little short on money atm. Parry is also not slotted with Luck of the Gambler yet, will prob be last thing i do.
Dropped maneuvers for super jump, i might actually drop super jump for something else too, i just didn't know what to put there. One alternative was to drop it and grant cover for aid self, but i dunno.
So far this build costed around 80 million inf, looking at around 70 more to finish i spose. Not too expensive, so far she's playing great, feels very strong and powerful

I got a lvl 47 shield scrapper, and can't say i have much trouble on her. Sure taking on a whole group set for an 8 man team who do nothing but -def will get me killed. But on the whole. I see no issues with shields. It's a strong set when slotted and shield charge is just plain awesome.
