I don't like farming with my dark/sd. It is average at farming but there are much better farming combos out there.

A quick mod shows what a few slot changes can do. Lower end use, high regen and recov.
I'd take AAo much later in the build as well. Having aggro at lower levels isn't good when you don't have the defense or hit points to survive an large mob of enemies.
Here is a build I made, it has higher endurance costs, lower regeneration, but higher resistances and higher DDR.

I personally wouldn't slot Soul Drain with GFCS it doesn't have any accuracy and it has pretty a crappy recharge percentage.

You have no idea what merging the markets instantly would do. There is a large disparity between blue side and red side so there would be a huge shift in demand/supply.

Taunt on the other hand is one of my favorite powers and is useful on a team.

I had a +6% to hit in my build once and couldn't really see or notice a difference in the amount of times I missed or hit.

Welcome back! I'd definitely suggest searching around the scrapper boards as there are a metric ton of threads with a lot of very good fire/shield builds. It actually doesn't take a lot of influence in order for a fire/shield to do a lot of damage and be extremely surviable. Fire is a good primary for dps because it doesn't require a lot of recharge in order to dish out a cheese load of dps. So that allows you to focus on soft capping, regeneration, recovery, and resistance.
Here is a relatively cheap build that I made, if you're patient it could cost as low as 200 million which if you read up on the market forums is pretty easy to achieve if you buy/craft/sell enhancements.
