So you have gotten your hero characters to epic levels so you can create a Kheldian and then you got that Kheldian to epic levels. Then comes Incarnates so to make youe epic Kheldian even stronger, you turn incarnate and it is good... but no one can appreciate all the hard work you have done, right?
That is until now!
Every Friday, I am organizing a Weekly Kheldian Task Force where we put together a team completely of kheldians and complete the WST forthat week.
Does this interest you? Be among the first to attempt this Epic attempt at Epicness with Epic AT Kheldians! Because you cannot put a price on awesomeness!
Our first WKTF will be held Friday March 18, 2011 at 2 PM CDT (3 EDT, 1 MDT, 12 PDT). We will be meeting in Cimorora by Imperious. I will be bringing Angel of Legacy, a lvl 50 +1 Human Only PB and will be starting the team.
Whose in?
Team
1. @Santa Laws, Angel of Legacy, 50 +1 PB
2.
3. @Zaloopa, PB or WS
4. @Samsungg, Septipheran, 50 WS
5. @TwilightPhoenix, 45 PB
6.
7.
8. @Mr Grey, 50 PB or WS (possible) -
I sat down with my Incarnate Inventory and have determined how much of what I need for each of the Very Rare enhancements. Have you?
-
My level 50 Human only PB is this exact concept without the ironman look. I am IOed out, have my incartnTe slot started.
Solo, I almost have as much fun as when I play my main. She is sitting at 65% on most resistances and 75% on a couple. My status res is comparable with my ice tank and my KB prot is much better. -
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I was able to reproduce the problem.
I discovered this by accident -
I was doing hero tip missions. I was in PI and had one in Bricks. So I hit the SG Base TP power and part way through, I remembered that my Mission TP power was recharged so I clicked on it effectivly queing it.
The SG Base selection screen showed up and thew Mission TP power was starting it's activation.
I decided to go ahead and go to the base since it was already waiting so I selected the base and voila!
I appear outside the Base map in the null void area (foggy and a bottom that is way down there. After falling and taking close to 2000 damage, I am sitting no where in sight of the base and see no floor so casting the Ourobo portal didn't work.
Casting another tp (Mission TP/Pocket D/SG Base TP/etc) will work and so does typing /stuck. That of course takes you inside the base.
Like I said, I can duplicate this all day. I did put in a bug report and actually had a GM come inside and see what was going on (and got me back on the streets). Hope this helps the dev team and I wonder how many people have reported this already. -
Quote:You are correct. The App on the IPad only says Splashtop. That is why I stated that.huh? Splashtop itself is a Linux and doesn't run on iPad.
are you talking about Splashtop Remote? http://splashtopremote.com/
Anyways, as to your original question, I think you asked if the developers at Paragon Studios had experimented with touch-screen play, given that you posted in the technical issues forum. Touch-screen gaming is probably never going to be implemented in City of Heroes, and I don't think the developers here are going to focus on the tech.
While Multi-pointer / Touch development has been under development for years, such as MPX which dates back to 2005, City of Heroes, as a game, was designed without such input in mind.
The case in point here is everytime somebody wanders around asking about CoH on a Gamepad. Some of lightly snicker and have to refrain from responding, "you play with a gamepad then the team will be asking you to please go back to keyboard and mouse. CoH's interface was largely designed to be navigated with a standard keyboard and mouse, and as such the game makes several inherent assumptions about key combinations and interface placement.
This was one of the reasons why Google decided to not use an existing Linux window manager / desktop interface for it's Android OS. Compiz, Kwin, Metacity, Mutter, Xfwm, Fluxbox, Blackbox, you name it, none of them really fit the objectives of a purely touch designed interface. The interface inherent assumptions and action combinations are also why Google told vendors to not put Android 2.2 on screens larger than 7", and is working on larger screen support for Android 3.x: http://arstechnica.com/open-source/n...-potential.ars

Now, as to whether or not you can make touch-screen work like a mouse, well, obviously, you can. -
You are correct. I am using splahtop to port my pc to my iPad.
-
It's not as hard when you use a Bluetooth keyboard. You just have to figure out the mac keyboard commands.
I wonder if I can use a PC bluetooth and have it work better... -
Well, slow at first. Activating powers is weird because of the whole finger motion thing on iPhones and ipads. My main problem was when I wanted to talk in channel switching channels, selecting the channel and anything requiring a right click on the PC version. Bringing up the keyboard (which overlays part of the game thereby blocking view) is akward.
Graphics aren't high end so the shadows are non-existent. Other than that, it felt cool. -
So I was playing COH on my iPad the other day when I had a thought about mouse controls and touchscreens. Anyone experiment with touchscreen play?
-
I thought part of Beta Testing was you cannot say you are beta testing. Kinda like the first rule of Fight Club.

Where did it go? Shouldn't it be stickied?

No thoughts on the builds from the peeps on the tanker forums?
-
I guess I need to look at the pvp numbers. These numbers are pve and do reflect 10 enemies around me because of the way I tank. But, to be fair, I did the same on all builds I did so the numbers would be accurate for a true comparison.
No need to compare apples and oranges. -
I am working on a on i19 incarnate build
-
Also, with build 11, I have Darkest Night which doesn't reflect in the numbers.
-
I am planning my build with Santa (lvl 50 Ice/Ice Tank) for the i19 release and City Traveller Vet Reward.
I posted the discussion in the Tanker forums, but since I play with you guys, I wanted your input.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=240978
I started off by looking at my current build and how it performed. After removing inherent fitness and air superiority, I realized exactly how many slots I use for defense and offense.
MY first priority was to match my current numbers while at the same time better slotting enhancments and trying to reduce the number of slots or powers required to do this. What I came up with allows my to do away with the Boxing, Tough and Weave (the fighting pool). In total, I save 6 powers and 10 slots so I used my extra powers and slots to solidify my toon and make him hit harder.
After all was said and done and after 11 separate builds - 2 of which I really like. The resulting charts show how they compare side-by-side.
If you were faced with the numbers as shown, which way would you go or would you try a mix of the 2?
Looking forward to your reasonings and responses. -
I am using mids, but not for the graphs.
As far as Ice Melee, I do agree that it is not as suck-tasktic as it once was. I've been playing this toon since issue 2 and remember the days of only being able to run one ice armor at a time.
I was leaning toward build 11 myself simply because of the extra status, damage, 2hit, and haste. -
In light of the inherent fitness coming and my getting the 60 month Vet Reward, I decided that this is finally the time to respec Santa, a lvl 50 Ice/Ice tank.
To prepare for this, I have been saving all sorts of IO sets and influence and openning up all PPP and APP so I could make a better build.
Some of the problems I am having is this:
- Ice Melee simply has very few heavy hitting attacks.
- Weakness to Psionics (but who doesn't)
- Some status effects have a massive effect on me.
- PVP is ok, but when I attack, I do not make headway.
So, to combat these issues, I played with the new Mids version and came up with 11 new builds. Comparing them to my existing build, I have narrowed my list down to 2.
Following is a list of graphs with only the pertinent data shown. The builds are listed to the right and is shown with my current build for a comparison. Please note that fthe fitness pool was removed from all builds. All builds vary because of powers selected and how they are slotted.

So in your estimation, Which build should I go with based upon these numbers? -
I'd like to see Veteran Rewards become merits that you can cash in for special things like things available at the PlayNC store (respecs, chr slots, AE mission slots, Renames, Global renames, and a variety of veteran powers that are lumped together into a Veteran Power Pool).
Then you could spend the merits on those things instead of getting stuff that thematically doesn't work with your character. For instance, my main doesn't need all six sprints and Ninja Run. He also doesn't need ghost slaying ax, nemesis staff and sands of mu. By allowing veterans merits toward the things mentioned above, a player has more control over the things he uses and doesn't become a power collector as I am now.
(Some additional thoughts on what you could spend veteran merits on could include exchanging veteran merits for reward, vanguard, and hero merits as well as AE tickets. Also, there could be 30 day temp powers that grant at 10% bonus on XP and/or inf as well as buying keys to unlock the winter slopes, and special veteran enhancements.) -
How much confidence should we have that this will be corrected? My fear is that I will be told that they will not replace or restore the items.
If this happens to email, doesn't it stand to reason that it can also happen to base and personal storage? -
So, I lost a total of 8 (by my count) crafted enhancements. There was multi strike, mako, scirrocco's, executioner's contract, and the rest is hard to remember what they were. I will never, NEVER, leave anything in email longer than an hour again.
-
i just logged in to find recently crafted enhancements gone. All that work and rare recipies and rare salvage to build.
Dang it.!
