I must report that in the past my energy defender would fire off an Aim or BU and then fire off a snipe --- and miss. Enough for it to be noticeable. He should've missed once in 20 against most things he was fighting. It certainly did not feel like that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I notice this most with my claw stalker.
Slash's Description: You perform a Slash with your claws, dealing a high amount of damage, but with a long recharge rate. This attack can reduce a target's defense, making him easier to hit.
From experience, I never ever lead with this attack anymore. The follow up will miss 3 out of 4.

Ya. Kinda like if my Energy Stalker disorients a foe. Do you think I can hit him while he's disoriented? No way, Jose. I even tried popping some Acc insp's for this and still nothing but Nope. Sorry. Whiff Whiff Whiff Whiff... foe is oriented again and hits me right on the money for the next 4 strikes. I wasn't going to post this but going back to this has changed my mind. It was something I wrote in about concerning a level 14 Stalker of mine that was missing so much I just couldn't take it anymore. So I petitioned it. The answer comes first and then the original petition since that is how my email reads:

Can someone look to see if when an Energy Melee punch disorients a foe... is it giving them a defense bonus of some sort? I am missing every swing until the disoriented foe becomes un-disoriented and I have my Accuracy slots with 1 acc +15 for a lvl 14

ill repeat what i said 2 posts ago 13% endurance discount is exactly the amount of endurance you used to recover pre Enhancement Diversification, stop whining and hit rest between battles.
[/ QUOTE ]
For some people it is not a matter of whining about not LIKING it rather than it is affecting how they play. It is a matter of game flow. I don't want to stop and rest between every fight. It is the one drawback in soloing in CoV right now. Previously, a well slotted Stamina allowed me to end one fight and by the time I got to the next on I had enough Stamina to jump right in. Now you have to stop and REST. You may think it's okay. I, for one, do not. It stops my game flow. This is how I like to play. The way you play is fine for you if you want to use the REST option. Personally, I think they just ought to up the base regeneration rate of Endurance and be done with it. -
So I'm not the only one. <whew> Maybe someone will see this. I petitioned it, but I felt stupid doing it thinking it might just be me.
And HEY!!! Aren't DO's just a little more expensive in CoV than in CoH? I'm gonna go check! Edit: Nope... they aren't. Boy! I don't remember it being so difficult to accumulate funds to get DO's. LoL -
Hey I sure appreciate that input. But am I the only one here thinking that that is just not right? My Corruptor is slotted Offensively the same way and She hits far more often. As a matter of fact a friend of mine pointed out that it was ironic how it's almost the exact reverse. My Corruptors Fire attacks hit 3-4 times before missing, which I've come to think is about the Norm. This is against the same level and type ( in some cases) foes that I was weighing my Stalker against. Mooks and Cappo's.
-
Hey Castle... I've got some Accuracy issues. I've read the beginning few and scanned the last few pages of this topic so forgive me if I missed something. My Energy/Ninjitsu Stalker seems to have long bouts of missing. At level 12 I just have 1 slot given to Accuracy which I always maintain maxed up as per my level. I can manage to get off an Assassin'sStrike but then if I have to fight anything else afterward I'm missing like 4 and 5 times before another hit when then leads to another 4 or 5 misses. The same thing will happen when I manage to STUN a foe and he started to wander around all dizzy. I'd think that if anything there might be a bonus to accuracy at that point since he's an easier target, but I keep missing 3-4 times. I've tested this at length with Mooks and Cappo's and the results are always the same so I don't even use Assassin's Strike as an opening attack anymore to dwindle a group size down. Is this supposed to be like this or is this a bug or maybe...I hope not... my imagination?
Now grated, I still have not gotten DO's yet, but should that really matter THAT much at my level or is this level 12 just a touchy level?
Edit: I forgot to mention... I'm not talking about fighting +1's or even +2's. These are even level (White) minions I'm missing so much. And while we're at it. For having Combat Jump, Hide, and Ninja Reflexes on all of the time I sure get hit a lot too. Sometimes it's like a group of 3 even levelled minions can hit every time but I'm swinging at the air. HELP! -

Bug: When using an Assassination power, it generates a sometimes "very large" aggro bubble. Uncertain if its intended or not. - CactusPete, 11/09/05
Positron: confirmed, and working on a fix.
Castle: We made one change that should have reduced this effect, somewhat. Testing internally has not resulted in 100% replicatable cases, so we're still trying to track down exactly what is going on.
Castle: Stealth is not supposed to drop below zero, no matter how low the actual value goes, but it is possible there is a bug there somewhere.
Patch: Fixed a problem in Assassin's strike powers that was causing you to gain negative stealth and thus gain aggro from far away foes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure this was the fix you were looking for? The reason I asked is because a party of us Stalkers were doing missions last night and it was the same instance over and over. Whoever led the starting Assassins Strike from a Hide position almost instantly got attacked and hit by every foe in the mob. Instant Death over and over. On a few occassions it seemed that if the Stalker next to me struck first then they would see me and attack instead of the other Stalker. We had to kidnap a Corruptor and force her to work for us!It was awful. We had a Brute. 4 Stalkers and a Dominator who was afk most of the time. Isn't there some way to just have the target of the Assassins Strike get aggro'd for a few seconds before the rest of the group? That way if we miss we can at least have a chance to avoid 5,6, or 7 aggro'd foes on us and killing us instantaneously.

Well I open my box and discover - ONLY SIX
I am missing ghost widow!! The box was still sealed and didn't look tampred with... everything else was in the box.
Very disappointed. =( Anyone else have this problem ? any way someone can fix this travashamockery of packaging?
I want mah Ghost Widow!
[/ QUOTE ]
I only got 3 as well. Two of them are heroes, which I am not complaining about. I got Statesman, maticore, and Positron then I got Cpt. Maco, Black Scorpion, and Lord Recluse. But not 7. No Ghost Widow here either. But I'm so geeked that I don't care. -
This is not a really big thing but when my PB changes to human form it does it silently (preferred). However, when my warshade reverts to human form it does it with a sound effect. Personally, I prefer the silence of the change but I've created a few of each and it does this every time.

Called gamestop today in Lansing, Michigan. Of course the pre-order boxes are in and have been but I was never called. I seriously won't be doing business with them again after this. They asked for my home phone # and e-mail address to inform me when it came in and it has been in for a few days. Not one call or e-mail. All 3 stores had my info in case only one store here got the stuff. I guess that is what happens when kids run the store.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Anyone gets theirs from gamestop online yet?
[/ QUOTE ]
No and quite frankly I don't think I'll ever pre-order anything from them again. Those people don't know what is going on in any of the three stores here in Lansing, Michigan. I call back when they tell me to. When I do, they are all just clueless. For all I know, my pre-order is sitting right in the back room on a shelf next to old copies of Diablo. lol. They don't know when their shipment is coming in or when the stuff will be coming in. One person even had the foresight to think it would be in December. Oooooookay then.
-
Okedokee... I made some phone calls just to answer my own question and per the Game Stop stores that I called, the CoV pre-order boxes have not been shipped to them. If they do not get them this next week, then it most likely will not be until the beginning for next month (September).
-
Thanks... this 4-year old just hasn't received a pre-order box yet and I pre-ordered back on July 1st. I'm assuming no one has gotten one yet???
-
[ QUOTE ]
NO.
One, you shouldn't be paying $50 bucks for a pre-order. The retailer should be dinging you for $5-10 up front for the pre-order package which goes toward the final price of $50 which should only be paid in full when they ship the retail box to you.
Two, you don't understand that by pre-ordering, you're getting 2 boxes. The pre-order box with the pre-order disk and pre-order serial will come first and soon. The retail box will not be shipped to you or be available for pick-up until Launch Day. Inside that retail box will be the game manual, installation discs (which you won't need because you'll already have the game installed by then), other fluff, and most importantly... the retail serial required to activate your account as of the morning of Launch Day.
So [censored] [censored] you for not asking for clarification before shooting your mouth off!!
I said [censored] [censored] you, sir!
j/k

Not to keep beating the dead horse with a stick here, but just so my Saturday morning headache isn't clouding my understanding of what will happen... if you have pre-ordered ( meaning just putting a portion of the total cost down like 5-10 bucks as you mentioned earlier ) CoV, the first pre-order box with the pre-order disk & #'s will be released from the place you purchased it from at the time that Beta Testing is ready to start? Is that how it goes? At which point I would assume I complete payment and then on the day of release you would pick up the box with the GAME disk and #'s for your actual game play serial #'s. I've never really seen an explaination of how this would work until today. I've never been chosen for beta-anything before. I just need it explained to me as if I were a four-year old.I'm blonde if that helps explain why.

I was wondering if the Hollows might get a little progression in any nearly mentionable future.
Will regular heroes ever have a consistant enemy throughout the game? Kheldians have Quantums and Voids throughout the entire game that pop up and give them an ideally hard time. Might there be consideration given to Origin-specific enemies? -

Blasters: First off, blasters are going to get a new inherent ability (much like the scrapper critical is inherent to that AT) called desperation. The lower the blasters hit points the more damage they will do. As I write this I wish I had asked for more details IE ratio of damage to health but I didnt <sigh>.
[/ QUOTE ]
To be honest, I really hope that he means "Along with some form of protection/defense/aggro reduction/ect".
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol, excellent point. not much room for desperation when your getting "one Shotted"
[/ QUOTE ]
Does this mean that my Blastsers can go from experienceing desperation to actually HAVING Desperation? -

Not in the high end game myself, but with characters at lev 32, there arent any I have found (over 6 ATs so far, 1 each flavor) I cant solo. I have found which powers I pick up at which time makes a huge difference in the early game.
Just as in every other game I have ever played, low HP = low survival of errors. A tank can screw up and typically still run. A blaster, defender, controller is already dead from being hit with one shot (or a stun then kaboom).
I think squishies should have status resistance, but tanks should be vulnerable to stuns, etc. Move their resistances over to passives so they survive being held, stunned, etc, and let blasters and defenders have ways to avoid or break free from being affected by status effects. I think that balances nicely, myself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah... now there is a good idea. Please forgive me... I just got done complaining of my squishiness on another Thread and thought I would check out what other Blasters talk about. I have not read much here so just pass me by if I sound like the NKotB. Anyway... since Hit Points are different based on AT, why not give a base resistance, as was mentioned before, to things based on AT. Run the scale the opposite way of the hit point spectrum.
I have one of every character except the Aliens since I have not reached 50 yet. (Just made 38 though last night!... ahem... with my Defender.) I love all of the Types. I've tried so many alts, I think I'd give someone who's played twice as long as me a good run for their money in the search for a character I feel a warm fuzzy for. I even got a Dark/Regen Scrapper. I don't feel this would tilt the scales in any one direction at all.
Does it sound like too much? Do I just need to muddle through the Terrible 30's and look for the Rainbow? -
Oh... and I almost forgot to ask... how about the Abbrev.'s for the other games. WoW was the easiest for me to figure out, but I have not palyed many of the others. I usually just do one game at a time. I know EQ and L2... but there are a bunch more, I know. I can never figure them out.
