I don't have the words to say how silly WhiteLady's comment was...but I think _Pax covered it well, good job sir. Though I think I'll give it a go anyways
Henchmen/Lackeys are to Villains as Sidekicks are to Heroes, they are the same thing or the perverbial 'second banana'
Add in all the stupid special circumstances you want WhiteLady, you can't change a fact.
[/ QUOTE ]Nick Fury isn't a mastermind, and masterminds do not belong on hero side.
[/ QUOTE ]
True... The term Mastermind leads one to think of villainy. Genius geared toward chicanery, perhaps. Reguardless, the mastermind of anything is just someone who plans and directs. But give the Hero version a title befitting a Hero, I'll use 'Architect' for an example, with the powersets of a Mastermind and I don't see an issue with it at all. Why can't you have a gang of good guys fighting under someone's direction( I know... totally out of the question), or a Good genius engineer creating robot minions to fight crime and Evil? True... the Undead will be a little harder to explain, but not impossible. Ninja's working for good guys? ( Never read a Daredevil comic, so it can't happen! ) And Merc's doing good instead of bad things? (Never!!!)
So you're right. Masterminds need to stay on the redside. -

I apologize if this has been asked before...and I'm probably going to get laughed at...
Are the AT's gender specific or will we be able to play male Blood Widows and female wolf spiders?
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe I read that you can have male or female. At least looking at the costume models shows it to be that way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Edit: You're right. Take a look. So far in the game all Widows and Fortunata's are female. Yet, if I remember correctly, there was a man figure wearing the Night Widow Helmet and a female wearing one of the Spider helmets. Tell me if I am wrong. I am at work and going off memory. The work computers won't let me access the page with the I12 stuff on it. -

and empaths do not belong red side.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't bet the farm on that, Sport! Besides, all you Heroes do is cry about how useless Empaths are. We'll take 'em on the Redside with open arms! Redroverredrover let H3alZoR come over!!!! Muahahahaha -

PleasePleasePlease reconsider this whole locking villains into Patron Power Pools. It's like you're hand-cuffing us into your idea of what is 'fun.' PleasePleasePlease consider instead creating patron power pools for heroes and ancillary power pools for villains. That would go a long ways to alleviating the narrow-minded 'villain-destiny' rut that I feel red-side gaming offers.

Just a big fat reminder... no one HAS to choose a patron. No one HAS to take Patron Powers or run the arcs. Also, you can choose a Patron and stick to your owm power pool and just run the missions. There are a lot of other contacts in the city of Grandville who can accomodate you. Don't be a Destined One. -
THank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Not only did you finally bring us the VEAT, you're supplying the Roman costumes I need for my Roman Corruptor, Xiphos. I very much look forward to this Issue. Everything looks great. I can't wait!
-Sam
Did I say thank you? (hugs computer!) -
Or you can just do the wise thing, which would be to assume that the CoP is in the G file. If it gets in then you'll just be suprised and happy as a clam. If not... well you'll not have lost anything since you never really gained anything.

I just found my newest screen saver. Absolutely wonderful job. I wish someone in our VG has such talent and dedication. I'm sure your SG is proud to have you as a member.

If this means I get to have my badge list online, always updated, without having to download and run herostats to verify them... YAY!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess this is what I was failing to get at. I can see a point to this. -
Is all of this concerning those web sites that you can log your badges onto and stuff? And things like Herostats? I just don't see what the big deal is. Why do I care if someone sees my power choices or Friends list? Are people really THAT worried? And what I want more to know is why are people looking at my information anywhere but in game? They must be very bored.
I can understand the PvP side of it, but as a whole... pffft and meh.

Anyone else notice that the main bad guy looks like Stan Lee?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I did.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm starting to think that was very intentional. That was my first thought when i saw him too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here. But wasn't there some comment about him being immortal as well. In that way I thought it was kind of a compliment. People will remember'ol Stan long after he's gone. And maybe they'll make better Marvel Movies after that too!
....just kidding Stan!
And I'm just can't WAIT to hear what purple "super-rare" salvage all the farmers find and how easy it was for it to drop in their laps! -
20 Pages late!
note to self: No naps after work....Love Sam!
Anyway..wowzers!!!!!
(Lights Cigarette)
Thanks Dev's. Thanks a lot. This was almost as good as that other thing I really wanted to have a cigarette after!

How about a "still in development" video then as a teaser? I'd put you on my Christmas card list if you did!

Let me know what stealth shots you would like to see.

(Cue Mission Impossible Music)
Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it. Gather intel as to what comfort level these Red Names operate at. We are aware that Footwear is a main source of creative comfort. Proof in stealth mode, would be your best bet, Agent Ex-L. Find out who wears what. However, don't get too close to the footwear. Arachnos double agents have reported several hospitalizations due to sensory overload.

Ok, but I can't talk about Issue 11 or beyond... but that's pretty much what you guys WANT me to talk about so we are at an impass.
[/ QUOTE ]
No.... that's not what I want to know anything about. I wanna know where you all sit in relation to each other at work. I wanna know who hangs with who at lunch time. And most of all, I wanna know when you people are ever gonna come to Michigan for ANYTHING!! We have lots of water to look at.

Me either. Again. Better luck next time. -

When will players be seeing epic villain archetypes?
We want to try to squeeze those in early next year, but itÂ’s still up in the air.
[/ QUOTE ]
What kind of crap is that. How long do villiansactualy need to wait? 2-2 1/2 yrs just to have a maybe? Come on now. How long does it really take to come up with new Eat and have it done 'right' , as some have stated.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm... Long enough to develop an entire issue's worth of content from scratch? Oh, and all of that content will be gated solely to people who have a level 50 character in one faction of the game. Because clearly catering to a fraction of half of the playerbase should be a top priority of the devs.
This may come as a suprise to you, but right now Issue 11 is far enough in development that the devs can't add huge new features--IE, an Epic AT--to it. If, at this very moment, someone presented an argument for villain Epic ATs so pursuasive that the entire dev team was convinced that it should be their #1 priority, they still couldn't make it happen before I12, which will come out--this sounds familiar--early next year.
But, no, you guys keep on demanding an Epic AT for CoV every freaking day, as though you expect the devs to make it from scratch and push it live in less than 24 hours. And then you get mad that nobody takes your complaints seriously--go figure!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well first of all, I will ask for it every day. I want the Devs, should they read this, to be reminded that is is very important to some of us. There has been talk of a villain Epic since release. If you get tired of reading of how people want the AT, then don't read the post.
This game seems to be praising balance, balance , balance all of the time. Well... those of use who play both Hero/Villain side can plainly see that it isn't balance when it comes to EAT's. And yes, it takes time. Yes, it requires a lot of material. This is understood. But phrases like the one first quoted like "try to" and "still up in the air" in the same sentence referring to something many of us look forward to is a bit frustrating. Demands are never met nicely, thus demands shouldn't be made here. However, I'm going to voice my want for the EAT villainside whenever I see an opportunity to do so in a related thread. I want it known that people want it. A Basic reply that is just as tired as the return rant you posted: Get used to it and too bad. -
Alright. I like to think that I can correct myself when I am wrong just as much as I give my thoughts on things so... after complaining about no Villain AT's last night I logged in and did the Lady Grey TF. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the new maps, the new power fx, and I would almost swear that they made Fly more tweaked somehow. I was able to control myself better. But I read nothing on that and I won't try to spread a rumor. (whispers: but I'd almost swear it isn't the same. ) I am appeased. I won't knock the issue at all since all I really had to complain about is the lag and that The Honoree was bugged and didn't put up a fight.
So... good work Posi and everyone who worked on it. I'd suggest no one start complaining until they actually see it. It was nice to be able to team with the Heroes again. I also really like the new costume pieces. (donut toss to Jay!)
-Sam -
Finally had a chance to read it now that I am home. Not happy about villain AT's maybe being in game tell next year. Not happy at all. It makes me wonder if the game hasn't grown beyond their staffing.
-Sam
Edit= added an "L" -
I can't read it. What did they say?
-
gahhhhhhhhh! damnable work security won't let me see it. Copy-paste! someone copy-paste! I hate not being able to see the new stuff. Of course I hate work too, but I gotta do something to pay for my account. No beaches around here to sell icecream at.

As the proud owner of a small SG with a base on the smallest plot with Oversight room, Med-Lab, and 1 Transport room, I'd like to see how others have designed their bases of similar size. the other thread has many, many wonderful pic of large and elaborate bases, but I'd like to see some of smaller bases similar to my own. I just started working on mine last week so I'm not really ready to post picks of mine, but I'd like to steal, errr, GET some ideas from others if I can...
Thanks!

For the most part, I like I-9. Did the Statesman's Task Force and had a good time. I don't mind the time sink with the Market. It actually gives me something to do during those times when people I team with really have to take a 10 minute break for real life reasons.
Despite reading up a lot on IO's and how they work, I have to say that they have made it so that you won't really learn until you mess up badly. Things thought out badly IMO: Selling something you posted incorrectly by mistake and getting overcharged for it. A timer, an " I definitely want to sell for this price " backup check button... just anything to prevent you from loosing 2 million for something you wanted to sell for two million but posted wrong by mistake. (Trollers on this topic, just don't bother to reply, please)
Biggest let-down: Costume recipes. You've taken my favorite part of even having a character other than powersets and turned it into a thing of frustration. I've been running my alt low-level characters because it has been noted several times that they get the best chance of costume drops based on chance percentiles. I'm about frustrated all to heck after running a bunch characters through 3 levels each yesterday and have nothing but a bunch of common salvage to show for it. I think I got 2-3 Uncommon on each character I played. No Rare drops at all. This is villain side and I'm starting to read claims that Heroes are getting more of the costume drops than Villains. I hope this isn't true.
I'd rather run a hard as heck solo TF given by the Tailor to get these items with at least a certaintly of a costume drop. This NOT getting them with as many alts that I have and the time I spend playing every day is just maddening.
Biggest Positive ( for me ): IO set bonuses. I am very happy that my Dom's and Corruptor's can ( with the right recipe) get things like 10% bonuses for recovery. Small bonus percentages to overall Hit Point additions are great for squishies to get. I have one character who has a 3% resistance for Psi dmg and has an aura before level 30 because of it, which was kind of a nice surprise. The bonus isn't large, but it's a bone being thrown my way at least. -
Sorry Dad. I spent the last 2 Dbl xp weekends working double shifts and visiting friends on vacation here in the state. I'm not missing this one. Sorry, but it's what happens when you forget a birthday just a month before. Muahahahaha.
Trust me... he was playing WoW the whole time. -
Ha. A little on "you must be kidding me" side of my thoughts when I read this. This has been tested on the test server and certainly not for an insignificant amount of time either. So it isn't illogical to expect things to work correctly when it is put to the live server.
