Been there, done that, have the T-Shirt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I feel some sort of mild redemption... Thanks!... LOL
  2. LOL... No, I was feeling a bit too embarassed, assuming the mistake I may have made... Most, if not all noobs would not have realized it... Or quite possibly been 'smrt' enough to not make the mistake in the first place

    Oh well... lol
  3. Ok, so today I'm tired and honestly, a little hung-over

With that said... I was attempting to invite members of our 2 Super Groups and our Villain Group to a global chat channel so that we can all communicate between the three groups. I may have mistakenly clicked the INVITE/Global instead of the INVITE/Super Group...

If you received an invite to DWPoP channel, please feel free to accept or decline... But I wanted to offer up here an apology to anyone that may receive the invite in error.

Since all of my toons are on Liberty, have been and will always be (assuming I don't change my mind after 4+ years)... So, the globals I have all are friends I have met on Liberty Server.

Again, sorry if you get the invite and needed to decline or are offended in any way.
  4. I assume this is Saturday, August 1st?... If I missed it.. Sorry.

Our SGs/VG is having a party this same day and was not planning our normal scheduled TF (we do one each weekend day).. If you'd like me to toss this on our group calendar, please let me know...

Confirm your date here too... @Pigtails is currently updating a LIBERTY SERVER calendar for all to use as a one stop source for quick viewing... but not to take the place of the normal and customary posting of events or not to conflict with any other event setups!

I wont be able to make it myself... but hope you have a GREAT TIME!
  5. Reserves additional comment til morning when 100% sober!

Ok, so instead of adding another post.. It's now the NEXT DAY and way past morning... lol...

But, I wanted to add that I hope I have not offended anyone in regards to the calendar suggestion... I just have not seen anything here that's updated and thought it a good idea to find an online source for toons to access who may not be aware of P.E.R.C or other event groups or who do not come to the forums often but can gain access to the calender with a bookmark...

    New Player

Welcome to Co'X'... there's plenty here for everyone...

Just stay out of the AE building until you really get your feet wet... There is a lot of content here in-game... too much can be missed if you're just rolling your first toon(s)... get used to teaming and game play of many types.

    ...

Maybe they should put a trainer and enhancement store in the building - then they would never have to leave.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Provided of course, that broadcasts from inside of it don't leave either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now there is a GREAT idea!
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Methinks they should just have a completely differnt server for AE, kinda like what they do with test.
Just so people who don't want anything to do with MA can live without it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This has my single vote!...

    To SaintJohnNB,
Generally we post and stickied events, then unsticky them. While I was with PERC as First / Second Chair and one of the Liberty Reps, we only used the calendar for our major PERC events and that we had a person assigned to get that done. Sidenote: I am no longer with PERC so I can't speak with how they will be doing those things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I've seen the many events posted.. I just thought it would be great if we had a single click source to find the information fast, either through a quick link or bookmark...
We can also add the links on our websites for our members and just make it so easy for those who may not visit the forums to become more involved... The more we can communicate with toons, maybe the better turn-outs we get and possibly, get them out of the AE buildings.. lol

AV.. I've read lots of your posts and it's a pleasure to finally meet you (although I figure we've teamed someplace, sometime before)...
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I honestly have never seen one... really. I know people have their own ways of keeping track, but I have yet to see any type of calendar other than the one that the devs have put up with those wonderful screenies. But even those haven't been up to date either.

Now, if someone wanted to do this, that would rock. I know that Gmail has a calendar option, I have one for my SG, but alas, it has not been used in forever.

I know a few other SGs have used the Gmail calendar too, but again, they are out of date.

Update: I wanted to see what this looks like, let me know what you think...

My SG site, same one in sig with calendar

    [/ QUOTE ]

Calendar looks GREAT and I personally think having a single source to click and go is better than scrolling thru the forums...

Here's the link to our Calendar of Events

Based on your input before.. guess YOU ROCK NOW!...thanks for the info and effort!
  11. Hey All... Hope your day is going well, regardless of the day you read this.. I hope it's a GREAT day for you.

First off.. Please forgive me if I have overlooked the link or area that may contain the answer to my inquiry...

I was looking at the P.E.R.C. sight and noticed the calendar is blank last month, this month and next month? Is the calendar in use or do we lowbies just not have access to it?

I was looking through our Liberty Forums section and could not find (please don't slap me if I've missed it) a calendar for the general forums user. I know we all post on different sites and forums and many post for their upcoming events... Would it not be possible to offer a online calendar that all can access and make recommendations for?

An all LIBERTY calendar... SG events, PvP and P.E.R.C and just 'in general' noting 2XP weekends... anything and everything that pertains to LIBERTY Server and it's users...

    Any thoughts?

Would this cut down on the number of posts needed for the MSR or Hami Raids or the revival of PvP activities?

A link to a calendar the general public can link to to see all of our exciting events??? Even for those who are not big into the forums... (I'm getting more active... lol) I know there is the CoH Calendar... but ummmm... ???

    Question:

Does anyone feel that the issue has been at least reduced since the Mito farms were fixed? I see a lot of boss farms on broadcast, but they tend to either be looking for Brutes or Kins above 35 or so. I haven't hung out around the AE much lately, myself.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do believe the 'broadcasting' has been reduced as well as possibly the activity itself...

But, IMHO the damage is done!
  13. Welcome to the City...

Much good advice and direction can be found here within the forums and as you can tell.. there are many who will jump to your aid if you have questions!

Give us a shout if you decide to roll a toon on Liberty!

When I first hit 50 with my first toon, a vet told me to trash her because "an Emp/Archer is a crappy AT, low dmg, slow activation, and weak heals."

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is sad, sad news... why?... Because if that's truly the case I have 3 very weak toons... lol

Yes, I do have 3 (50) emp/arch toons and each of the three are slightly different at their end build but pretty much the same toon make up over all... All pre-IO too and are in need of some lovin'...

So... I must be a fairly patient person if I've rolled 3 emp/arch 'fenders and rolled them all they way up to place them high on a shelf and only taking them down occassionally to dust them, run a few GM, AV or TF's and then place them neatly back upon their shelf until called upon once again!

I'm always happy to answer questions if/when I can... I'm not the technical type when it somes to playing the game.. I can't tell you the soft caps or the hard caps . I can however tell you if your toon looks like Andy Capp and that sometimes I don't give a crap, I can help you learn to read a map, I wanna take a nap...

    Oh, snap!

For example, we ran a Posi TF yesterday. About 30 min into the TF, 3rd mission, one of the members said "how long will this take?" I replied, we're on #4 of 16, so maybe 90min or so depending on the group. He replies, thats too long, i'm outta here....BAM drops group...30 seconds later, the healer says yeah this is really boring, not like the real game....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately, Posi is a horrible, horrible, grotesquely dull grindfest that takes forever. I'd be more concerned if people were taking that attitude towards, say, the Ernesto Hess TF, with its cool robot factory and giant robot fight and whatnot. I don't know if people actually run Posi to have fun, and I wonder how many would ever do it if it didn't have a badge and merits associated with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
But I do like to run Posi for fun...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Positron is a necessary evil to say the very least... It's needed to obtain the Task Force Commander Accolade...

Off subject here, but the TF is a poor introduction to the many good TF's to follow and that have been added... It is at the very least a 'grind fest' because of lack of powers, lack of travel powers (for many) and other factors...

With that said... we're running Posi Saturday, 7/25 @ 3:00 eastern... (Sry, shameless plug)
TF badges are required in our SG to seek promotions.. It's our way to try to get players out of the MA/AE and into the playing of concept. We schedule at least 1 each day on the weekends and often during the week... just for the fun of it and again, to get people out in the open and doing the content that is in many ways needed for toon development and for the added bumps to the SG badges too... It encourages group/team play, introduces toons to baddies they may never have experienced, that many will face again at some point down the road to LIBERTY!

Even if this one particular TF is not the most fun, it still beats the Hollows pre-enhanced and before jet packs!...
  18. SG vs PD...

PD: Personal storage only and limited transport options in PD.. you can buy inspirations and party like it's 1999!

SG: Many storage options, personal storage, salvage storage, enhancement storage, inspiration storage, 22 zones of TPs, many toons to team with and a dance floor!. Invention table(s) Ouorboros (Pillar of Ice and Flame)...
    Our one stop SUPER shop!

Just my two cents... but all things come in good time...
  19. Now, the good old days were BEFORE getting the jet pack from the KR zone bank missions and before they nerfed Hollows and made it 'player friendly for smaller groups'... or the freebie add-ons for travel... Was before my first 50, the 2nd, 3rd... oh, the joys of what the Hollows used to be

How many times have I tried to make it across to a FrostFire mission to get 'almost there' die and start over again... die again.. I'm coming... almost there!.. Thanks for waiting!

    The good old days!... lol
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Try to look at this as an opportunity to teach and bring these players into the fold. Explain the game (zones, enhancements, powers, tactics, mobs, missions) and show them how much fun it can be. Make new friends.

Show them why they should stay. AE powerleveling isn't a reason to renew. The rest of the game and the people who play it is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, agreed but I also have to toss in there some much needed exceptions...

I'm a triSG (2 blue side, 1 red side) leader and my time is spent developing bases and sg mates, planning activities that we invite all to attend.. working with our coalition partners much to the same extent and being as active as I can in the overall community (now, much more than before). Not to mention the website management, a full time job and RL responsibilities like kids (tho mine are nearly grown), a relationship and you know... life...

I know these are excusses at best (holds breath while others gasp at the concept)... but my game time.. the time when I actually get to play is limited and VERY important to me... my time is MONEY since I am paying for the game.

I am more than happy to assist friends and SG mates in development, I have added countless of new players to my global list and assist them throught the day... but when is enough just not enough any more?

We have in our SG ranks previous leaders and members of other SGs that were started all because of AE... toons that started FAST LEVELING SG or Quick Farm SG are now members of our SGs because we brought them in and work with them and other every day...

Some want to learn and be a part of the long term picture that is Co'X'.. others just refuse to know there is something else out there... Yes, in this big universe of ours... somewhere, out there... is life!
  21. This just in from NW11 (Hero News at 11)

Lawful [NPC]s have started to converge on Architect Entertainment buildings throughout Paragon City... You can see the angst and anger, you can see them hurt with ridden shame...

Signs being carried... LOCK THE DOORS and THROW AWAY THE KEYS... It's All a Nemesis Plot & Crey Labs EXPLOITS BILLIONS from salvage hunters at Wentworths.

    The story continues!... Ha!

All in good fun, all in just good ol' fun!

It's a weird metaphor. Clueless kid gets super powers, unsure what to do, and is a danger to his teammates, until either he gives up the superhero game, figures things out for himself, or receives some mentoring.

    Almost like a comic book?

Us grizzled veterans, or those that know, which can be UNDER 3 months, all have an opportunity to teach, and increases the stable population of this game with knowledgable persons.

Instead of shaking your head, offer friendly advice, answer the non-troll questions seriously, and the wise mentor who they will have fond memories of years from now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My current job offers me the opportunity to log into the game during morning/afternoon hours... (YIPPEE ME!) That said...

I seldom team during the day but can be found in AP under many different toon names offering advice and helping when a question is asked (in the evenings I might be found in AE badgering the farmers/PLers... though I know it is both fruitless and wrong of me to do so)...

If you're on Liberty and have a question.. stop by and ask, or just say HI...
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I don't know what the best way is to "fix" whatever is wrong how AE is affecting this game. But the attitudes toward the players vs. the mechanic doesn't do the game any good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The attitude (IMHO) is justified by some, earned by others and forgiven by many... I don't think it has become an us vs. them...

I too venture into AE to help friends test/run their arcs, I have my own I created for one of our SGs blue side for the toons that have not ventured red side to experience it...

There is no 'simple' answer to the issue.. but I, like many who have posted all over the forums and here, are willing to help if/when we can... but it is up to the individual to WANT to learn.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
There's been bad players since before AE

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed, but the influx X1000 (10,000?-100,000?) makes it more of a player base issue than just a bad toon.
  25. I've had the opportunity to also team with some AE Babies that found the door unlocked and unguarded and escaped AE on their own and have a good idea of how to play the game and just need some 'advanced' knowledge and skills (not saying that I can do, but I do assist with what I can)...
