It doesn't work that way.
If you're MARTy-flagged, you won't get ANY drops. Not "bad" drops, not "won't fill your tray," not "none are DMG," just nothing.
And I don't think MARTy has any effect at all on ticket rolls.
The odds are extremely good -- bordering on certain -- that what you are describing is just normal random fluctuation and/or player perception. -
Temp Protection now gives slow resistance.
Consume has endurance drain resistance. -
I have this vision of a mute Stardiver, unable to communicate verbally, choosing to thank someone who helped her by, puppy-like, bringing them a gift. A piece of the sun.

Quote:You're certainly entitled to your own opinion, including not liking the damage. But Tankers, and especially Inv/SS, do not have objectively "bad" offense. Invincibility and Rage's stacked to-hit bonuses give this combo excellent accuracy even fighting higher-level stuff, and Rage's damage bonus is available a much higher percentage of the time than Build-Up's is in other sets. IMHO Tanker damage is solidly in the middle of the pack of hero ATs, better than average Controller and most Defender damage -- and /SS is on the high end of Tankers in that range.I'm kind of tired of my Inv/SS Tanker. Very survivable, but the offense is so unbelievably bad that I have difficulty playing it. The lack of damage soured me to the whole Tanker AT, in fact.
Ah, now that's fixable, if you want. -
For starters, it's not the range that bothers you about those particular powers, it's that they're AoE and affect multiple enemies. After all, it seems absurd to complain about having just one guy knocked back (and it never happens to AVs, so we're talking routine mobs) -- especially since the ranged attacker would typically keep attacking, and defeat, that one guy, in a few seconds.
-
It counts just like regular damage enhancement. Although it's not a "base" damage increase, it would be doubled by crits in the same way a red SO's enhancement would be doubled by crits.
-
Quote:Note that now that you can e-mail enhancements and recipes, there's no particular reason to include the phrase "on my server" in the above -- you can pull the IO off a character on one server and e-mail it to, well, anyone who can use e-mail (probably not Free players, but I haven't investigated that). Post the item in the market forum and let bidders from everywhere make offers.
Good to know they are expensive now I might see if there is any interest on my server since it sells above the market cap. -
Quote:Every time I see this thread bumped up, I go "Yes, it's out!

And then I open I go, "Noooooo, still waiting."
"I21 Mids?" looks like an inquiry.
"I21 Mids" looks like an announcement.
Don't be that person. -
If he was interested in you knowing, he would have included a link. Duh.
Quote:Mission Architect
Custom Critters within Mission Architect which are capable of self-revival will give no rewards when they are defeated for the second and subsequent times. The powers still contribute to the calculation of their custom XP values. -
Ah, makes sense. Thanks! Now I'm off, to annihilate Big Shiny Buttons from my playing field!
-
So there are big shiny can't-miss-'em Paragon Rewards and Paragon Market buttons on the default character screen now. They can be removed by changing options in the options menu. Great!
Once they have been removed, there are still numerous ways to access the Paragon Market -- a button at the top of the Wentworth's interface, for example.
Is there also some easily-accessed, but NOT front-page, way to access the Paragon Rewards screen? I'd like to take the giant button off the playing space, but still go look at the rewards occasionally, without having to go into the options and turn the big button back on. -
Quote:Note that you have to log into the game and actually get on a character, not just the server selection screen, and it still takes a while (maybe 15 minutes) for the password to "propagate" to all the places it needs to go, it won't happen instantly.Zwillinger updated the announcement, the problem seems to now be fixed (as I can post from this account again). If you still have problems, the solution is apparently to log into the game, which should update the forum login.

Love the image! Slight nitpick: T-Rex and Apatosaurus were not contemporaneous. Substitute Allosaurus vs Apatosaurus.
Yeah.
Quote:My attacks are going to be 5 slotted, not 6. Going from 6 slotting Crushing Impact to 4 slotting Kinetic Combat +1 Mako makes a difference in everything. Only 5% - 10% in damage & recharge, with a big bite out of Accuracy (Which Rage will handle, so no big deal), but I hate giving up DPS. Which is why I will have a separate Trial build. It isn't like my damage output is needed on those.
The one concession I had to make was not being able to slot an ancillary/epic attack. I do have 5 six-slotted attacks and a 4-slotted one, however, so you might be able to take an ancillary instead of one of the earlier attacks if you wanted to. You also might not desire to go 5% over the soft cap for a buffer against debuffs.
So it seems doable to me to make a very durable Inv Tanker without suffering damage penalties. -
Quote:Well, not everything one sees in chat is reliable. If you'd asked me (and if I'd been able to log into the forums, grrrr) a few days ago, I would have guaranteed you'd see people claiming in chat to have been MARTy-bagged. Whether they understand the difference between that and the ticket-cap, or even really get what MARTy is supposed to do, is a lot less than clear. I'm not sying it didn't happen, but I am saying one hears all sorts of outlandish claims all the time, from people who may be confused, have an agenda, or just want to mess with people.Quite a few people in the Help channel were discussing their farms getting throttled by MARTy today...Freedom was rather rife with the few discussing it and the rest farmer bashing.
Rather interesting, since the initial thread on MARTy said that it wouldn't affect 'aggressive gameplay' -

Quote:Not sure the Titan Network folks who have expanded and maintained it would be entirely happy about being compared to MS Office products....As it now stands, I use it like a recent 'MSOffice for New Computer Owners' grad uses Excel.. Barely scratching the surface and yet still in awe.

Quote:But it's not true, if you're talking about the set bonuses. I read his post three times and I can't see where you got that. The set bonuses apply even with the toggles turned off -- if you have the real numbers showing in the combat monitor, you can see the effects when you first log in and have not yet turned on your toggles.TY Finduilas, I didn't know that IO Sets on toggles only worked when active (in general) - that's the 1st I've heard of that - that explains a lot
I thought it was Resist Elements he recommended dropping, not Energies. Res En has some endurance drain protection in it, which is handy.
One comment on Findulias's recommendations -- I'd also consider 3 acc/recharge HOs in Rage as a viable slotting (in addition to what he recommended). -
Quote:Mid's does that? *BOGGLE*Maybe you have a different meaning of cumulatively. Mids gives you a list of all the salvage you need and how many of each you need. Here's an image similar to Roderick's but without "Include Recipes" checked. Notice this random build needs
5 x Alchemical Silver
1 x Ancient Artifact
8 x Ancient Bone
etc, etc
Holy cow that's useful. Not for an entire build, since I've never shopped for an entire level 50 from scratch at one sitting...but, used in a more limited way, that's very nice.
Now I wonder what else Mid's has that I never noticed. You guys all have flying cars now, right? -
A graduated fee at the auction house might be a more progressive inf sink. Bigger sales take out a bigger % fee. This avoids hurting the newcomer and the inf-poor, while only slightly inconveniencing the richer player -- and it would occur at the point at which he makes his money, not ding him for having a lot of stored money he's already "earned."
I won't propose exact numbers, but it ought to be possible for a knowledgeable dev to carefully adjust the rate, so that it's not too onerous but at least helps drain some inf out of the system. -
-
Ah, I see it's scheduled to end at 4:00 PM EDT. I didn't realize they projected taking so long. Still, they might finish early (especially if I am not yet home from work, my cynical mind tells me.)

Is it generally expected that the Exalted server (VIP server) will go live tomorrow after the morning maintenance? That is, sometime in the middle of the morning on Tuesday, Sept. 13, if one is in North America?
Just wondering about the timing for securing character names.
-
Take the Psionic Mastery ancillary for Indomitable Will, too. (And I guess you could throw in Mind Over Body for more resistance.)
-
Apologies for starting a new thread on the announcement, but I searched around on the official thread and did not find any posts addressing this specific question.
The VIP Head Start announcement says the Dev team will join players on the Exalted server for the new Incarnate Trial in the first week.
Are they expecting us to have Incarnates on the new server in time for this? It seems like only by transferring an already-Incarnate character over would we be able to participate. That's a bit weird.
