Quote:You are aware that there could be massive end drain going on from foes, right? Or at least -recovery. At one point I bottomed out on my ELA brute, but I noticed I had flat-lined recovery in my combat window.I have only anecdotal evidence myself. Running a Willpower Tank, with Physical Perfection, and The Cardiac Core 4th tier. HUGE end problems in Lambda. In fact more than once I have bottomed out end. (And in any other content my Blue Bar only dips slightly when Rage drops, other than that 97-100% Blue...always....even against sappers) But in the bugs forums there is a post by people who say they have checked their boosts/stats and its not working. Thought I may give you tanks a heads up, but I may be doing the chicken little thing.
While in Lambda, I checked many of my league-mates to see if they had the +1 and it was showing up. Obviously tier 3 and 4 must be showing up. I'd make sure you weren't being debuffed. -
1. I noticed mine still showing up in the buff bar, so I'm not sure how yours wouldn't.
2. This is the tanker forum, not the place for this rant. Try the bug forum.
3. If Alpha slots aren't showing up, then it's more than likely a bug, and not intended. Are you really that paranoid that the devs are intentionally trying to mess with us, their source of money flow? -
Quote:You do realize that before the aggro cap, tanks had no problem keeping aggro from multitudes of mobs off other ATs without any problem, right? So even if a blaster could grab the same amount of aggro, the tank could always use it's aura and taunt to keep him safe. (see Ninja Farms, Dumpster Diving)You do realize that raising the aggro-cap would cause everybody; and that means corrupters, controllers, dominators, defenders, masterminds, v.e.a.t.s, h.e.a.t.s, and blasters as well as tanks, brutes, scrappers, and stalkers; to be able to aggro higher numbers of enemies?
Not that I agree with the OP, per sé, but you're typical behavior on these forums seems make it that much more fun to point out your logic-fail.
Now, could the aggro cap stand to be raised? Maybe. Considering the ability to survive has been greatly increased since the onset of IOs, it makes thematic sense that tanks should be allowed to grab as much aggro as they think they can survive. But I understand game-balance issues come into question and determining the appropriate amount of cap-raising would be difficult to judge. -
Team chat always has a distinctive chime when someone says something. How about having another chime for League chat. I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm not constantly observing the chat window when trying to stay alive in a raid situation. Having an alert of some kind helps me know I need to see what someone might urgently need me to know. Heck, maybe even allowing us to select from a group of chimes could be helpful (with an option for "none" of course).
Also, it might help if we could customize channel text colors. Dull greenish-grey league text doesn't really jump off the page for me. -
Quote:Hey Ryu, it was good doing the TinMage TF with you last week. But I have to say, you may be looking at all this the wrong way. If you don't want to add to the problem (you see) of the market, then DESTROYING SUPPLY, isn't the best way to go about fighting it.Just for the record I need to say this, I do not care as much as I did when this crap first started happening simply because I avoid the market at all possible cost, right now its just used for storing stuff since they got rid of the 60 day rule on active accounts. True enough I may miss out on an easy source of inf but I refuse to contribute to the market greed. I would sooner destroy the recipe or give it away to some one who actually needs it then to feed this problem and make it worse.
I know, you don't believe Supply/Demand is relevant as an argument since you think things like A-Merits should negate the supply issue. The problem is, you assume everyone is going to use those merits to flood the market. More than likely, most people use it to avoid the market without placing those items there. This means supply doesn't really change. Supply/Demand is still the issue for the prices you see.
Low bids and patience is all anyone needs to navigate the market if they want to pinch pennies. -
Quote:I guess I don't see a reason for him to be intimidating with the people he's got the closest relationships with. Why would he need to carry that presence with Alfred? I found Bale's performance to be very believable. For instance, this isn't a seasoned Batman. He hasn't been that hardened yet. The Joker is the first big player to come along that causes public opinion to turn on the Batman. At the beginning of the Dark Knight, he's a man with no limits, he even acts that way with Alfred. By the end, he's learned he might, and he has to deal with that, like in the scene with Alfred after Rachel's death. Both perfomances were what I would expect of a man in that situation. It is easiest to see in the scenes with Freeman and Caine, both portraying characters where he doesn't have to 'pretend' he's not Batman.
But hey, to each their own. -
Quote:This. I'm not going to pretend to know what all is necessary for making cross-server teaming a reality, but if it involves @Anything at the end of my character's name when playing, I'm not for it. Now, if it only shows up while not on my home server, I think I could live with that. The solution to naming conflicts cross server should be invisible to the end user.
Also, I think the OP would do better not to get so snooty. It's only going to derail your own thread. And anything that gets the ball rolling on cross-server play doesn't need road bumps in the way.
Quote:Other things needed for cross server play:
* The servers need to "talk" to each other to allow characters to move between servers.
* Transfer points need to be established. -
Quote:You said a lot, and I don't mean to cherry pick your quote, I just hate over-sized quotes and this section seems to be the meat of your disdain. That said, I don't really see the logic in the argument. In the suit, Bale delivers, IMO, the persona of a man that should not be messed with. In the comics, isn't that the reason Wayne creates the suit? To strike fear? Because just him in black street clothes wasn't going to cut it?It's a shallow and superficial performance by Bale, and therefore not immersible in the specific world it tries to create. Bale lacks the intelligence and intangibles to portray that necessary side of the character, and doesn't have those classic leading man characteristics to carry the part, the way his supposed servants do. He, therefore, cannot convince the audience that he is a superhero in this otherwise "normal" environment.
Chuck Connors could walk into a saloon and you knew he was not to be messed with.
Yeah, Chuck Connors can give the presence to let people know not to mess with him. But Chuck Connors isn't trying to hide the fact that he's Chuck Connors. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne doesn't want to let on that he's Batman. Bale, when walking around as Bruce, shouldn't be putting off a Don't-Mess-With-Me vibe. And he doesn't. He acts in a way expected of millionaire playboy. He gives off the aire of a millionaire playboy. And when in costume, he gives off the vibe of Don't-Even-Think-Of-*******-With-Me, IMO. -
It's no FREEM, but I guess it'll do.
-
Didn't they say the same thing happened to Christian Bale when they made the Batman costume? No one believed he'd beef up enough for the role and they had to resize it later when they found out he did. Guess they never saw the Machinist to get an idea of how committed some actors are.

1. You're opinion of fun is not the same as everyone else's. Some people think the feeling of accomplishment is fun. Sure, you may think running in a race with a paraplegic is fun because you can win, but you're not really making an accomplishment. What you're suggesting is roughly on level with that.
2. You fail to understand how MMO's survive. If everyone gets the best material without working for it, more often then not, they will get bored with the game that much faster. But, if they had to work at it for a while, and had something they've invested time into, they're more likely to stick with it.
Now, you may not like that MMO's make things "harder" because they want you to keep paying money, but without making money, MMO's shut down. I would prefer this one stays open as long as possible. The way it's managed right now (in regards to the OP) works very well for me. -
Actually, to do certain content in the game, you are. To at least get A-Merits (if you're concerned with being on topic), you're required to be level 20. Thanks for the exaggerated counter argument though.
-
To look at things another way, how long could you grind away at game content before you picked up the specific drop you we're looking for? I'd guess that the amount of time is, on average, more than what is required to collect the needed amount of A-Merits.
I know, I know, you're still right even if this punches holes in your reasoning. -
Quote:So... very rare items should be easier to get? Gotcha. They wouldn't be selling for 3 billion if they were easier to get.
Might I also suggest very hot drinks should be served on ice? Such as hot cocoa?
Also, I've earned up 30 merits for a PVP IO. It wasn't that difficult, and I wasn't playing more than 10 hours a week at the time. Taking out the days I didn't play, it didn't even take 60 days to do it. You could even do it in 20 days. Well, not you specifically, that was the general "you". You (specifically) sound too lazy to accomplish that. -

Ok, I went Elec/Stone/Ice. I'm set for perma-dom and have Aid Self and Hibernate for those bad situations. I'm looking forward to leveling this one up!
-
I mainly play melee class ATs (Tanks/Brutes) but I've been curious about trying a dom. I guess you could say I'm try-curious.
Anyway, I like elec/ on a controller, but got tired of standing at a stalemate (negating groups, but not really able to kill them). So I was thinking of doing elec/ on a dom and was wondering what secondary to use to help clean up groups after mezzing them. I was thinking maybe /Stone but I'm open to suggestions.
Also, would I be better off working for the S/L softcap, or going perma-dom? -
Quote:I have a stone/ tank that is softcapped to S/L/E/N/Psi, and to have the toggles running (plus Tough and Brimstone when the time calls for it) without Phys Perfection can be a bit draining. Red side may offer something that benefits you more, but I'm not sure what it would be.I'm wondering is there anything redside that would benefit me more? I'm will venture that way, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Also, McKinney sucks.
I'm obligated by the city of Irving to say that. -
Eh, if Kanye West can do it, why can't they?
-
Quote:Go out of town for a week, and I come back to hear about this! So where has this been announced, and what is the new soft-cap? Number-wise, what would happen to something like an SO Ice tank?I heard that the tohit values have been raised significantly in the newest incarnate content, does this basically mean Ice armor (and Super reflexes for that matter) are simply screwed, or is it no worse than anyone else?
[edit] Read Fail: Didn't notice the OP say it was incarnate content. Nevermind, the odds of SO only tanks at that point are pretty small. -
/signed (with a fancy gold sharpie)
Asymmetrical costumes have been something I've wanted for a long time. Double plus good idea! -
Quote:You can never go wrong with Hitler Twins. Never ever.

Haven't read it, but that one frame alone reminds me of the copy of Superman: At World's End that I have.
*tries to hide the shame* -
Depends on what you mean by more work. Running 5 missions a day + 1 morality mission every other day is pretty simple. Considering you can roll 1 A-Merit for a 5 Random Drops, as opposed to rolling 50 Reward Merits for 1 Random Drop, it seems like less work for more reward. Sure, you have to wait longer before you can get 1 A-Merit, but actually game play time is reduced.

How to Write a Smallville Episode:
Clark: Gee willikers, Tess, Alexander has powers!
Tess: Yeah, I've known for a few weeks, but didn't want to say anything so we could go on that bender last week. SPRING BREAK!!
Clark: SPRING BREAK!! I'll just skip the expected questions and just agree to train him to be like me.
Tess: As long as you don't grill me about my inconsistent behavior, SCORE!
Clark: So as Alexander, he had Lex's memories... does this mean Connor has my memories?
Tess: Look, a shiny object!
Clark: Sparklies!
---
Connor: I'm super-powered, and no one know what that's like! (Even though I'm about to make an assumption that someone with powers like me is the Blur!)
Clark: Surprise! I have powers!
Connor: You must be the Blur! You know what it's like to be me!!
Clark: I know, right!?
Connor: So yeah, the docs didn't realize I could use super hearing to know what they said about me, stupid docs. Aren't doctors the dumbest, Clark? ...Clark?
[In the kitchen] Clark: Lois, we can never tell Connor he's also a clone of Lex.
Connor: WTF DUDE!? I just told you about my super hearing!
----
So, yeah, weak-ish episode. I will give it some props for at least remembering some of the show's history. Clark using the same line on Connor that Pa Kent used on him when he was under Red-K, "You're coming home with me." That was a great nod to the past. Heat-vision when physically... excited, was another good one. Also, the heat-vision practice session did make me chuckle.
With the ending they gave (visually impressive) they better really bring the Darksied story to every episode here-after.
