Quote:You're mistaken. We have, to date, never seen actual Praetorian Clockwork.I just hope they explain at some point how in heck this thing is any kind of Clockwork. No Clockwork I've ever seen, Praetorian or otherwise, looks like that. Maybe the marketing team for GR messed up, thinking that Praetorian Clockwork didn't already exist?
We've seen Antimatter's and Neuron's robots which look like our Clockwork, but those are not Clockwork.
We've also seen Psychic Clockwork from another dimension, but those aren't from the Praetorian dimension.
All in all, WOW. That looks freakin' awesome. Sexy Jay just keeps churning out the good stuff. I can't wait to see those things in-game. Also... I have intense want for that chest/torso piece. That thing is sooo pretty!
Here's hoping GR will also bring a multitude of new pieces to the character creator. -
I'd say Traps and TA are pretty much the same thing.
Both are offensively-oriented debuff/control sets that can also crank out some damage.
The only major difference is that TA is ranged and Traps is more up close and personal. All in all, I'd expect the two to play together exceptionally well and look forward to putting more Trappers into play.
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to roll one up on Live yet as my vid card died yesterday.Oh well, got a fix set so I'm hoping to hit it up tonight. Can't decide what secondary though.

Quote:Aha, gotcha.Exactly right! Thanks for helping to clarify! Super sidekicking will make teaming easier in many ways and this is ultimately just one aspect of that. While I doubt I'm the only one to arrive at this conclusion, spreading the word just seemed the neighborly thing to do.
Yeah, in RO when we first heard about SSKing, we pretty much said, "This is practically made for us." 'Cause, y'see... we already do the whole cross-server teaming deal. It's what happens when your channel is populated by players spread over multiple servers.
I don't know how other globals handle it, but for RO it's just par for the course. SSKing just made it so we can leave off a bit when announcing the various teams we've got going. -
Yeah, I'm not seeing the idea either.
Umm... OP, can we get some clues tossed in? -
I'd play here until TOR comes out. Then I'd decide if I want to move over there, stay here, or play both.
This is, unsurprisingly, exactly the same thing I'd do even with updates. -
Quote:Oh sweet! My order of helium came in!

Overall, the idea expressed in the OP seems overly technical for something that, for the most part, already exists.
The aforementioned Holds (and pretty much every other Mez as well) serves the "use denial" function well enough.
For a "defensive denial," well, that's just a DEF or RES debuff. I have my doubts as to having a power randomly spit out different versions of the debuff though.
And a travel denial is nothing more than an Immob with a perk or two.
The final one seems like an exact copy as the first power. I'm not really seeing a difference between the two (save that one references an attack and the other a defensive power).
Mostly though, if this is even possible to do, I can see the random nature being its undoing. "Hah! I hit you with my Travel denial power and stop you from super jumping away! Oh... you've got Super Speed. Dang."
As I said, it's overly precise for not a lot in return compared to the sets we already have. -
Quote:Plus 10 more from the forms. This is actually not true.
Kheldians get 26 powers from their primary/secondary. (Yes, plus two freebie travels.)
Anyway, it'd be neat, but I don't think necessary. APPs/PPPs are designed to fill in gaps that the AT may have. As it stands, there are very few gaps that the Khelds have that cannot already be filled within the Primary/Secondary. -
Quote:So can I. And it's called Trip Mine.I'm sorry, I can find many uses for an attack that you don't have to be around when it goes off.
Time Bomb sucks, pure and simple.
A) You are locked into a 9s Activation time. And 8 of those seconds are interruptable. And it CANNOT be slotted for -Int.
B) It will blow up after 15s. It doesn't care if you've brought anything to it in that time. After those 15s are up, it'll blow up no matter what. If you haven't brought anything to it in that time, congrats, you've completely wasted the power.
So not only is it a power you don't have to be around when it goes of (+), it's a power you have to babysit to make sure it's actually effective (-). That it's not only still around, but also still retains its incredibly punitive cast time is exceptionally confounding.
I say get rid of the awful thing, reskin Omega Maneuver and call it a day. -
Personally, I think this level of customization is a bit silly. Has renaming the actual power ever been done? Or even wanted? This is, honestly, the first time I've ever even heard of this request.
Perhaps we should also be able to rename costume pieces? I do not like how my favorite mask mesh is titled "Demise." I'd prefer it to be called "Awesome."
It's probably a bit easier to do on a personal basis: i.e., follow the anime route and call out your powers. Make a macro/bind and voila. Done. -
Super congrats, mason! The first 50 is always a bit of a treat.
Time to go make a new Kheldian! -
Quote:Dude, put the internet tough guy fists down. There's a world of difference between "I'm not sure I believe what you're saying" and "You're a liar." Nobody really knows you, so why should they put blind faith in your words? Are you and the other guy above calling me a liar? Send me a private tell and I will give you the names. YOU can find the facts are very true.
As far as exchange rate goes, let me say this, what you value and earn, others do not. If some kid gets Dad's credit card number and Dad does not know what happens till the bill arrives or he does not pay close attention, or there is a family situation (like an ugly divorce), or a stolen ID...
BUT, I will be more than happy, privately to give you that data... and you can apologize publically once you learn what I say is true.
Leaping straight from disagreement to all but demanding an apology isn't helpful to any sort of discussion. -

Also for reference: /respec will ONLY use Freespecs. Using /respec will NEVER use up an Earned Respec (Vetspec, Recipe or Trial).
The Respec Contacts will use any available Respec.
So if you want to make sure that you're using a Freespec, use /respec. -
Quote:I don't know... do you have a problem using Fire Blast/Scream/Ice Bolt/[Insert attack here]? I mean, what good is it to the team if the Damage lands just before the target dies? What good is it to the team, if the Debuffs lands just before the target dies ?
Quote:That's just silly.
You're thinking Animation times. We're talking Recharge times. Different horses. Animation times for Neutrino and X-Ray are completely untouched. They are exactly what Defenders/Corruptors have. -
Quote:Percents do not work that way.I think the -100% End crash only works on base Endurance. I say this because, your maximum Endurance can be higher 100 depending on your IO bonuses as well as Accolades.
100% is 100%.
And Unstoppable does not have a -Recovery crash. It only crashes out HP and END. -
Then you probably had a lucky break as I said. You managed to crash right when you were also getting a tick of END back through your Recovery.
-
As far as I know, it hasn't.
It might've been that it crashed right as you were getting a fresh tick of END, thus leaving you with just enough to squeak by.
You can make certain by checking the power's real numbers in game. If the -END value is less than 100% or something like that, then it's been changed. -
Quote:Only due to the Recharge times... which a great many players feel are too long at present.I notice these issues in the early levels that makes Rad a bit unusual for blasters. There is a lack of control or mitigation effects. It's like Fire, only without making things dead as fast.
Damage numbers wise, Rad Blast outhits Fire in the 1/2 combo (Rad at 2.64, Fire at 2.6).
Quote:My next suggestions are not only to help performance, but also to retain the feel Rad blast is known for based on defenders and corruptors. Make X-Ray Beam recharge in 6 seconds, with the appropriate damage for that recharge. Make Neutrino Bolt recharge in 2.5 seconds, with the appropriate damage for that recharge but add a tick of bonus damage to make it deal the same damage as X-Ray beam. Add a mag 2 stun to X-Ray Beam, duration about 7 seconds.!
Neutrino Bolt: 1.32 DS/3.5s, 3s -DEF
X-Ray Beam: 1.32 DS/7.67s, 7s Mag 2 Stun, 6s -DEF
Am I mistaken on that?
I, personally, don't ever see that happening. Particularly not the bolded portion since that's completely at odds with trying to lower the Recharge. -
Quote:Bad choice of example... maybe. For a more realistic example, let's look at Entangling Arrow. For Defenders it's a primary, but for Controllers it's a secondary. That means it should be better for Defenders, right? Wrong - well, kind of. The immobilize duration is longer for a Controller because of their AT modifiers, but the slow is better for Defenders, because of their AT modifiers. Same deal with Ice Arrow. Power effectiveness isn't based off whether a power is in a primary or secondary, but rather off an AT's modifiers for the specific attributes of that power.
Defenders and Controllers have the same mods for Slows. Originally, Controllers had a higher Slow mod. This was discovered to be an error in that Conts were using the Defender mod and Defs were using the Cont mod. Instead of actually changing things to how they "should" be, the Devs just increased the lower mod so that they were equal. The only difference between Cont Entangling Arrow and Def Entangling Arrow is the Immob time. -
Quote:You mean aside from the fact that it would've given an AT two versions of the exact same power? And then Converse Power got buffed because it got ported to Heroes?? Funny they didn't think Stalker's Electricity Armor needs some buff because Stalker has lower HP and the set offers no healing/defense to back it up? Suddenly the dev feels the need to buff /Elec just because it's going to Heroes?
And aside from the fact that they already knew Electric Armor was lagging behind but put off significant changes until they could overhaul it whole scale?
Electric's Conserve Power would've been of no consequence to Electric Tanks. Power Sink would've come up soon enough that they could completely ignore it and still be fine. And if they really needed CP later on, they could grab it from their APP.
Energize going to Brutes, Stalkers and Scrappers is a major boon. And since it's applied to 2 ATs over 1 AT who could really make use of it, it's of greater effect for Villains than Heroes.
Quote:Do you see the trend here?
EDIT: Actually, Scrappers get CP as well. This is what I get for not playing them much. -
Quote:I was absolutely, without a doubt, positive as of 8/19/2009.Are you sure that Defender's Acid Mortar and Seeker Drones debuffs more than Corruptor's version? Are you positive on this?
If those numbers have not changed since, then I remain completely sure.
IOW: YES -
-
I still say they should've gone for a 3/6, but I'm happier with 4/8 than 1.5/3.
EDIT: And Psy, Defiance normalization applies to Activation Times, not really Recharge Times. Sonic, Archery and Fire all break that "rule."
