  1. Yay! Another marketing nightmare for Zwillinger to mop up...

    *facepalm*

Dude, I sure hope they pay you enough. We can't afford to lose you.
  2. Some of the responses in this thread are insane. Zwill stated the reasons for staff fighting coming late, and he was being honest, objective and kindly informative with this information yet still some folks insist on pissing in his Wheaties... Seriously, knock it off.

Staff is coming. Its not Zwill's fault you can't have it this week, and you need to accept the fact that they can't churn out one powerset a month. At best they can do one retail powerset a quarter and in the meanwhile there's plenty of other things to enjoy.

    Now be cool - please.
  3. I thought the golden rule was one retail powerset per fiscal quarter? In which case, we just started a new quarter, so...

Oh dear, its gonna be a long wait for a new powerset after staff goes live, isn't it?

Well if its not CoH2, then I doubt I'll be interested. I've tried enough MMOs and seen them all come and go to know the only one that has any real staying power for me is this one. And I say that openly acknowledging that I tried and dropped WoW after a month of gameplay (when Lich King was all the rage). To date, CoH is the only MMO game out of 8 I've tried that i'm still playing and I'm now going on my eighth year here.

MMOs are becoming stale because they focus too much on the IP and not the player or their personal influence on the game. CoH is still the only one that gets it right. So if they're not working on CoH2, i'm going to be highly prejudiced against trying something new.

Just a couple of things, as you can see the Male has a couple of new faces without the normal mapping as there just was not enough time to work on high res models for them. The fan on the Back Pack will be animating. Notice the chest detail, it will be in all upper categories. Also notice the Bubble helm will also be in Full Masks for those Buzz fans...lol

As much as I wanted to I was not able to do a non transparent version of the helmet due to skinning reasons and the suit top will only be in the Armored category due to uv reasons.
Looks great but not a big fan of the chest zip. Unless you continue it on the pants/groin zip, I don't think it's worth having the zipper at all. Just detracts/seems redundant.

    Hi all.

    * OK. Not just 2xp. Bout of life sucking badly, parent dying, etc. and just wanting the mindless stress relief that hauling a Fire/SS tank into a mob of enemies and pounding the snot out of them - as opposed to 1-2 enemies being a hassle - brings.

Well, if it isn't the White Wolf of Icicle Creek...

    Welcome back Nancy! Er, Bill...

  7. Sister is moving on up up the ladder and I for one am glad to see her trailblaze! I'm so happy for you!!! Congratulations!!!!

PS: Can you come on Ustream next Tuesday? We've not seen you in awhile!

Not arguing the others, though I'd probably add ToGf and maybe KI:U to that list.
It's an exclusive SH title for Vita.

So that's I22 competing with a month of releases including ME3, SH: D, SH:HD, SH:BOS and RE:ORC (amongst other competitive titles coming out this month). Today would've been the day to get the most buy-in for re-activated subscriptions thanks to I22 going live. Now it's going to split the player's interest/wallet 5 different ways in competition with these other titles. Not a good idea... As it stands, it's probably best to wait and check back for I22 in April. There'll be too many other things to play with while Marketing is pumping ads into the pipeline.

And may I say I completely disagree with the comment about firing Black Pebble. That's totally inappropriate. Whatever your disappointment, a setback in release schedule is not a reason to wish someone be put out of work. I suggest you revisit your priorities in life if you think a game is more important than one person's ability to stay employed.

Shame on you guys for raising false hopes with that Facebook post last week. Saying "very soon" but not this week is even worse. Now i'm suspicious it won't be live before Double XP weekend...

Next time, just say "Soon" and reserve the "Very Soon" for if it's going live in the same week you post.

    Ugh.
  12. Very impressive! It's coming along quite well!

Question: will there be a baggy version of the space suit available? I could really see the value of loose fitting space coveralls as well as the tight fitting version.

Also, I don't think the back packs need to be smaller, but just set lower on the back. They look great though!

I used the phrase "glass ceiling" because while there are still limitations, you have to know where to look outside the game itself to find out what they are and how they'll limit your toon's effectiveness. Meanwhile, unwitting players are buying/using these improvements not realizing they'll be useless/wasted if used on the wrong toon.

Smarter, more IT proficient players know where/when to research or drill down to find the right info, but to others, there's an increasing risk of burning through market points/improvements that won't always work depending on the toon's build.

I've got a ton of boosters and AT sets I could slot on my main 50 who is already decked out with purple sets, stacked IOs and Incarnate level bumps so I think I'm sufficient but the system still lets me buy in and use boosters, AT sets, etc so I worry these will hit the glass ceiling on total effectiveness and I'll never be none the wiser.

After 7+ years on playing this game, I can't recall all the limitations put in place/rolled back anymore, but i'm still encouraged to buy improvements?! So how can I be sure what i'm buying will still be effective?

And truth be told, I build a ton of spreadsheets at work, so the last thing I want to do is number crunch more spreadsheets when I get home. This is when I wish the game was more plainspoken about what a certain build has achieved, how much more room does it have to grow, and how long before I cap out on enhancement effectiveness?

Honey, I was an English major. We're allowed to repurpose the language whenever we see fit. How else can we win at Scrabble?

    Now don't question me.
  15. I'm *totally* impressed by the variety of ways we can now improve enhancements nowadays including (but not exclusive to):

    - enhancement boosters
    - enhancement catalysts
    - enhancement set bonuses
    - stacking enhancements

But isn't there a point where enhancement improvements can only go so far before they stop being effective at all? Or is there no end to how much one can improve the effectiveness of their enhancements? Apologies in advance if I'm not posing this question the right way. I'm just not sure if I should be burning through all the options I have available if they're going to only work up to a certain point/level.

Kudos Devs and Marketing! Good job! I R Happeee!!!
That's what I was waiting to hear. If all the 24 pack gets you is a complete costume set at the very least then I'll take the risk.
  17. I'd join you guys but that's my birthday weekend and hubby says he's got something extra special planned for me! Enjoy and hope to meet the local DC/MD players sometime next year!

  19. I already mentioned this Facebook but I'll repost my thoughts here: Option B's side panel-quiltiing looks extremely similar to the side-panel quilting in the Stealth set we already have. I just see way too similarities between that set and this draft image to vote for B.

Ideally I prefer C - if only because it looks more metallic/spacesuit-y. I can almost imagine that suit would/could look very Buck Rogers if the shiny texture is done right.

EDIT: But don't let my opinion sway you.

I was really surprised by the majority going with option C but you just made me realize why it's going this route. Folks are going for the most neutral-looking pieces which I completely understand. I can only hope though the Devs can squeeze in the neutral version and the ventilation-style as well. I'd hate to lose out on some really great retro sci-fi concepts just because they're not generically friendly to other costume sets.

Looking forward to seeing you guys there!
David, I gotta say I had you all wrong. For a long time I thought you were being very narrow-minded with your creative vision and style choices for various costume sets but after reading your thoughts on Penny's costume and now seeing what plentiful options you've had to conceive for the Retro Space set that may never make the final selection, I have to re-assess my understanding of how you manage this process and your level of creative flexibility and give you both my thanks and a well-deserved apology. I was *soooooooo* wrong about you. I'm sorry.

You really do a great job managing this process. Please keep up the good work - and thank you.
