Quote:I hope they also don't take a cue from the world of comic books and have players have to pay a microtransaction fee for the privilige to have a sidekick beaten to death.
That's right; there is the possibility of permanent death for characters in City of Sidekicks. "It's not something we're doing lightly," said Producer Jesse Caceres. "We're taking a cue from the world of comic books. If a sidekick finds himself in a situation where they might be killed in a villain's Deathtrap, we will poll all the online players asking if said character should live or die."
At the very least, if I pay to have that sidekick killed, I expect him to stay dead! -
Quote:Make sure you are monitoring the global channels for your server. Find and get involved in a SuperGroup. Check out PvP, and see if that's your thing. Thanks!
I'm looking for not only RP-ing, but also other ways to expand my game...
There's lots of good content in the level 20 range as well... the Doc Delilah/Agent G arcs in Faultline and the 4 contacts on Striga Island, starting with Stephanie Peebles, are pretty good. If you've opened access to the Midnighter Club, Mercedes Sheldon has three short but high quality arcs.
At 25, you can jump over to Croatoa, which is still my favorite zone heroside. One of the most popular heroside arcs is "Freaklympics", which is handed out by either Collin Larson or Marvin Weintraub.
The 20s also provide several TFs -- Sister Psyche at 20, Moonfire at 22, and Citadel and Ernesto Hess at 25. All can be run in less than 2 hours with a decent team. Hess especially is not to be missed, and can be run in less than an hour with some teams.
Good luck! -
Quote:This is what I was going to suggest. One idea is to have the option to auto exemp down to the appropriate level, so if they go to King's Row, give them a 2 level option, let's say 7-8 or even a 5-10 option, then run paper missions, exemping down with the appropriate power restrictions. Could be harder in reality than thought though.
A Level 50 wants to fight Skulls in Kings Row. Maybe he wants to get Influence while working on the Skull defeat badges. Maybe he missed the Kings Row safeguard exploration badge.
He goes to Blue Shield, and he gives the player the usual options of changing titles, changing builds, etc. Blue Shield also gives him the option to be exemplared to him. Throw in some colorful dialogue about partnering up with the PPD to help clean up the zone, or whatever. The point is that the player would exempt down to level 14 and have the ability to run safeguards or street-sweep in the red zone areas if he wants to.
The exemplar would last until the player either zoned or turned it off at the trainer. -
Quote:Hopefully it'll something of a kin to the current Hamidon encounter where the players themselves initiate the event rather than the random to semi-random events that you describe. However, and it's a very big "however," I question whether this is really a good way to gate rewards that everyone is certain to want. As it is, the smaller servers often have trouble mustering even a single full team to deal with such zone events as Rikti and zombie invasions, not to mention banner events. I hope the devs are observing populations and zone events on the smaller servers as well as Virtue and Freedom and realize that after the first couple of weeks of Going Rogue, the other servers are unlikely to be able to gather sufficient numbers to do this kind of open-world content.

Quote:From the Live feed on NEWSARAMA:Yeah, I kinda felt this way too. While getting 1 - 20 content with Going Rogue is neat and all, I really wanted some end game content. And with the Incarnate levels only accessible with the GR expansion, Issue 19 should be renamed, "Issue 19 - The Stuff We Couldn't Finish On Time For Going Rogue".
The other news with GR is pretty neat, but this was a huge disappointment for me.
Incarnate System will be 10 Incarnate levels, the first level will be available in Going Rogue, along with new incarnate abilities. Issue 19 will bring 9 more levels and more abilities.
The end game system debuts in Going Rogue, then is expanded in I19. Positron even said "Going Rogue system, a lot of fun, especially for level 50s".
Yeah, yeah, what's the definition of "fun"... but if you wanted some end game content, it looks like Going Rogue has some. -
Issue 18: Oooo, Shiney!
Issue 18: The Beginning of the End... Game System
Issue 18: Shades Of Grey
Issue 18: That'll be $29.99, Thank You
Issue 18: Fire Walk With Me
Issue 18: Pew-Pew-Pew!
Issue 18: It's Kinetic Melee! Suck It, Physics! -
Probably safe to say it'll be Issue 18: Going Rogue, but who knows? I kinda like "Along Came A Tyrant",

I generally don't PvP, but I understand that a thriving PvP player base is good for the long-term health of the game overall.

I've gone this far in life without seeing a movie based on a Mark Millar comic, I don't think I want to break the streak.
Looking forward to Iron Man II, The Losers, and Jonah Hex though. And Thor, Captain America, and Green Lantern next year. -
Quote:Yep, that's pretty much the voice. Of course, his voice is very "generic mad scientist" sounding, so that's probably why.Is it just me? I hear his dialog in the voice of Dr. Doofenschmirtz...

"Laugh with me, Perry the Platypus!" RRAAAA - HA HAHAHA -
Rikti and Nemesis are my favorites. Arachnos would be up there too.
Council/5th are always fun to beat up as well.
If I feel like I want a challenge, I'll run the Gaussian arc where you fight Vanguard. -

"Lost" is on at the same time.
-
The devs have indicated that opposite faction members on the same team will be able to exchange inspirations when teamed with Going Rogue.
-
And Terrance Dobbs gets more competition in the extermination business. Competition, as all loyal minions of Arachnos knows, is key to survival.
Good hunting, new Arbiters! -
And in Paragon City, the weather is going to be sunny, with occassional purple lightning and intermittent zombies. Highs in the low 60s, cooler in areas affected by Arctic Fogs and Shadow Falls.
