There was a pretty big and obvious hard stop called "One Year Later" in all of the regular DC titles. For the Batbooks, that was when Morrison took over Batman and Dini took over Detective Comics, I believe.

Quite frankly, the best part of the whole Infinite Crisis saga was the run-up to it. I believe some of the key points are collected in the trade Prelude To Infinite Crisis (or something like that). I would definitely recommend Villians United, The OMAC Project (I believe the trade includes the pivitol "Sacrifice" story-arc crossover with Action Comics and Wonder Woman), and Day Of Vengeance. Infinite Crisis itself was a slight let-down, but it has some good moments. The crown jewel though is 52.

Zero Hour is absolutely 100% skippable, as is Rann/Thanagar War.

The first book was pretty good.

The second book was probably the best Fantasy novel I've ever read.

The third was disappointing -- repetitive and boring, but some of that is in comparison to the excellence of the 2nd novel.

The fourth book was one of the single worst Fantasy novels I've ever read. The characters were caught in endless loops, the story was simply mired in quicksand, and -- this is the worst part -- it's actually only the first half of the fourth book. Apparently no one was able to tell Martin to rein it in, because it just goes on and on ad nauseum.
    Almost completely disagree with this.

Shadow, the one thing I'd say; if you haven't read them yet and are interested in the TV show, I'd almost recommend that you simply enjoy the TV show then go back and read the books if you like them.
  3. Don't know about the specifics, but I like the concept.

Wouldn't mind also if a SG as a whole could have a "favored enemy". Your group makes a public strand to stop the terror of *Enemy Faction X*, and there's a sort of mini-game when players in your SG go up against that faction. Have bonuses for defeating them, and maybe even penalties for being defeated.

Lets say mission level 21, so no SOs, and you are fighting 5th Column.
With good players, this would be an awesome team. Especially if at least one of the Kheldians was a Warshade.

If it means fewer Council base map missions in the Kheldian story arcs, I'm all for it.

    War Witch re-corporalization?

What do you guys think about this?
Morrison was making a meta-comment on the nature of the DCU. Trying to take that literally by making Superman the in-story "God" of the DCU wouldn't serve a reader well.

Superman is the creation from which the DCU sprang from in 1938, but if you go down that path too far, then you come to the conclusion that Jerry Seigal and Joe Schuster are the gods of the DCU, and again... that doesn't do a reader any good at all.

C'mon, where's that black-and-white, no middle ground Golden Girl? You'd stand aside and and let the Resistance get away with this moral crime?

Unlike a MM? You're playing with the wrong MMs, methinks.
  12. Nope, you don't need it, not for the +ToHit in PvE. I take it anyway though, and six-slot it for the Gaussian set.

If you PvP though, it's very nice for the +Perception.
  13. Very interested in this.

Especially interested in seeing how they go with Miss Martian.

You should try Villains sometime. It's great.
Johnny Sonata, Marshall Brass, Operative Vargas, Timothy Raymond, The Television...

Yeah, Villain-side contacts are wildly varied. Only a few I can think of are mustache-twirling.
  15. Doh! My fantasy football draft is at this time, otherwise I'd be all over this. Good luck!
  16. Kaytoo Six is an homage to every superhero origin I could throw together:

    Quote:
Kaytoo Six was born on the distant planet of Samachson. Molded from clay and given life by the Samachsonian god Certa, he was born with abilities far beyond other Samachsonians. However, his sculptor-scientist discovered that the whole planet was doomed to destruction, and sent the 12-year-old Kaytoo via zeta-beam to the planet Earth.

Kaytoo's beam was intercepted by a scientist working on a prototype radio telescope. Surprised by Kaytoo's sudden apperance, he ran into an alley where he was brutally murdered in front of Kaytoo by a mugger.

Kaytoo wandered the streets, and was eventally attacked and bitten by a mutant Gamma-irradiated vampire super-soldier.

Not sure why... *chugs some more Enriche*
I don't mind the running, if there was purpose in it. Where are they going? If they're running to get help, have them aggo the next mob. Make it a concequence to letting one get away.

Are they running away because they've really lost their <blank>? Then they should de-spawn at some point.

But them running away, and then come strolling back... "I know I was running for some reason, but I can't remember why..." that's kind of silly.

    Well said.
  21. Ah, Pinnacle, Triumph, and Guardian... a nice healthy green just the way I like them.

I was going to start my Praetorians on Justice, but this makes me think Protector is the way to go.
  22. First off, thanks for asking Castle.

    1. Granite Armor. If we can't get a version that doesn't replace our avatar completely, then as Hallowed mentions above me, how about some different looking things to turn into? Unrealted: any way to make my female tanker not sound like a man when she Taunts while in Granite?

    2. Sonic Attack/Sonic Resonance I think we'd see a lot more use from these awesome powersets if there was a more "tech"-based animations. Even if it causes weapon draw. Really this could apply to any blast set.

    3. Blast sets with animations like Kinetic Melee. My character does some Tai-Chi and fire blasts out of the air at her opponents. Imagine this with the Fire/ snipe instead of squatting. Really, anything to make the old blast sets not look so static and boring.

    4. No-FX/PvP-only options for Hasten, Super Speed, Combat Jumping, Super Jump, Teleport, Fly, Tough, and Weave.

    5. No-FX/PvP-only options for Energy Aura.

    6. All the "breath attack" blasts should have a hands version. It's only thing, for example, that has prevented me from making a /Poison Mastermind.

    7. Spectral Terror, love the sound FX, not crazy about the visual. Anything more scary would be nice.

    8. I know this falls more into the costume department, but anything that could be done to get jetpacks with animated Fly as a Back option would be appreciated.

    9. Hover - you know how a character who Hovers looks when they finish the Soul Storm animation? I want my villain to Hover like that all the time.

    10. Wrist and/or shoulder mounted weapons for Assault Rifle.

    11. No-FX/PvP-only options for all APP/PPP defensive auras.

Anyone have an alt crew that loves to go through all the old stuff again? ;-)

Thank you PhroX for the insight :-)
My advice would be to go to the Champion Server forum here. I don't have a character on Champion, but a quick look at their forum shows that people are scheduling all kinds of stuff.

As for people moving "beyond" your level of SF, auto-exemplaring with XP, merits, and badges often make any TF/SF more appealing to even higher level characters.
