Team PvP should be rather good, much more balanced than duels, however some people like to always win and align themselves with people who can provide characters that pretty much will always win. The game would be much more interesting when either side stands a chance of losing I would of thought. So for me it'll pay be more sociable and pass your 'best man' over to losing side and no matter what side your on provide feedback thats constructive.

Teams are rebalanced constantly on monday nights in pocket d, this already happens. and do you have any proof about the latter part of your first sentence? I don't think that's true, we all like to team with our friends, unless it's meant to be really competetive, like union vs vigilance for example, or if someone thinks they're better than vindicate. -
tbh, that's why people spend all their inf on global +recharge, there are no global -activation sets.... yet.
-
Can I just pop in and say that if duelling is your method of PvP, then of course you would think it is broken, because this is a team game, and duelling is about as dull as being forced to be at keyboard whilst filling for people who don't speak english.
Try some team pvp, it's more fun, it's more rewarding and it's a lot more balanced.
EDIT: Though it could be argued that I have this negative view of duels because I suck at duelling, I just find team pvp a lot more fun. Just like any other game, I prefer co-op to FFA, team matches online on FPS are way more fun imo. -
lol I never realised thunder kick had a longer animation than storm kick. looks awesome tho
May have to make that MA/Fire scrapper after all -
He's got a Red Fortune set and a LotG +rech in Mind Link though, not def/recharges from different sets. So one could easily switch and have mind link stack (if it does that) for a significant period. If that was what was wanted. Globey works on builds though, not single powers. So the extra global +rech from ML would help powers like Aim and TKB recharge faster for pvp situations.
Also Mind Link, to me, is primarily for team psi resistance, not defence, but then I've never seen it used in PvE lol -
For what powers exactly?
-
I'm going to wait till they proliferate /sonic or /kinetics with ninjas because otherwise I think they're a bit squishy.
If I had to go with anything now it would be FF because ninjas with decent defence might not die, but then again I'm not too sure of their damage without debuffs, but I did ok with my thugs/ff.

We'll try not to ruin it

funnily enough... kryptonite only works on Kryptonians

Here's my own top-five ratings for PvP. I've not included the epics since I've not had a real chance to see them perform.
1. Blasters: Sorry, but these guys are the undisputed kings of the PvP world. They have ridiculous accuracy making any defensive powers completely useless (and, I should add, acc debuffs are far less useful if not resisted completely) and have the ability to blast multiple targets quickly and effectively -- and from a DISTANCE. Should they happen to close in though, they have plenty of melee attacks to choose from, some of them extremely devastating. Oh, they're also able to shoot while mezzed and gain a damage bonus for every successive hit.
2. Stalkers: Okay, this one is probably biased since whenever im slain its invariably by an energy melee stalker, but hear me out anyway. First of all they're the only class which can guarantee a critical hit (using Hide or Placate), and yet also are given some incredibly strong attacks such as Energy Transfer or Total Focus. And this is without even paying lip service to their insanely strong Assassin's Strike which reduces pretty much anyone except for DP users or tankers to a single hitpoint, allowing them to effectively 2-hit kill most players. Their only downside is if they're spotted beforehand.
3. Dominators: A good dominator is an impossible target except for skilled blasters or those with their own personal empath. Their holds land accurately and quickly and worse still they can use Domination to render you helpless while they chip away at your life. Its the worst way to go in my opinion, since you rarely get a chance to fight back. I much prefer battles with some give and take.
4. Masterminds: When you battle a mastermind, you fight seven opponents (or more!) at once. Thats tricky in itself, but given that masterminds also have a plethora of weakening or self-buffing abilities at their disposal as well they're also a force to be reckoned without companions. A blaster can pretty much render a mastermind useless by vaporising their pets, but most other AT's can and often do struggle to defeat a good MM. Besides being enfeebled beyond hope, you're constantly assaulted by targets, and every attack dealt to the MM is distributed amongst them.
5. Tankers: Okay, perhaps this one is an odd choice, but its here just because they're so difficult to bring down. An ice tanker, for example, can merely use Hibernate to bring themselves back to full hitpoints and stamina in a matter of seconds. And you can bet it will be fully recharged when he drops to lower hitpoints again. They also don't lose out too much in the melee stakes either, with some very powerful blows depending on your attack type. And Super Strength gets the very useful Rage allowing them to wail on enemies with far stronger blows than normal.
Like I said, probably biased due to my own experiences in PvP areas, but those are the most troublesome AT's I've encountered in combat.

LOL Tankers > Defenders Controllers and Corruptors.
tbh. -

eh, been a long time since we have seen real fixes and rebalances going in the game, its usually AT wide band-aids like defiance 2.0, its great and all but its only served to make the highest performing blasters extend their lead over the lesser sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not very true. With Newfiance I've found my ice/nrg blaster actually to be weaker than before (I was good at riding defiance, 1 shotting stuff helps to stop incoming damage tbh). While my recently made archery/psy blaster can achieve almost a permanent 50% damage buff from level 4, effectively giving him Damage DOs already. Archery, a fast but relatively weak set, is probably the set which benefitted the most from newfiance, not ice or fire.
[/ QUOTE ]
I cant help the deficiencies in your playstyleand archery, a lethal damage set does not get the most out of defiance 2, 50% buff on small damage is not as good as a 25% buff on a big damage low resistent set. Defiance 2 wasnt just the stacking damage buff, it was a straight 12.5% damage on ranged attacks too which benefits bigger damage attack much more than low ones. Oh and fire blast is a faster firing set than archery and far superior damage too but blaster forums are thataway

No, you suck. -

I'm likin the suppression reduction tbh, should really help with traditional stalking DPS
-
[ QUOTE ][*]Kinetic Corruptors - Speed boost and IR for nice unsuppressed movement, slows, end drain, siphon power and fulcrum shift for great damage. With acrobatic changes even more important with ID. Best with Ice primary as with stacked siphon speed you can get amazing DPS, fire/* can also work but needs second kin otherwise you will never have any of the blue stuff. Sonic/* can also be very nice but one of the great things about /kin corruptors is the way you can really chain together short activating attacks and sonic unfortunately has long animation

Unfortunately you have to be phil to pwn @ dis -
Also Rest gives resistance to Teleport, hence people suggesting it to stop griefers.
-
Better than cage for someone who has no BFs. They're probably gonna have to introduce suppression soon.
-
Sitting there clicking the screen alive or dead makes little difference tbh. Just ignore the friendless nubcake and play GTA tbh

The only thing I'm confused with is the powerboost nerf would a dominator still be able to use powerboost, domination and megalomaniac all at the same time for uber mezzing potential?
[/ QUOTE ]
Im wondering about the same thing.
The "nerfing" of PowerBoost is lacking with details...it almost seems like they are lowering the effectiveness across the board...which means Dominators will take a much more serious hit instead of Controllers.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol this. Devs finally nerf the main thing that imbalances HvV PvP, and people still reckon vills are getting the short end of the stick. Guise, Power Boosted buffs are infinitely more useful than power boosted holds, and that is the issue being fixed, sacrifice a small holding time advantage to make heroes lose a percentage of their powerboosted buffs. It's more than a fair deal for Villains. -

They're only nerfing the SoA's cos the Khelds turn out to be a load of player-hated bullsh*t. They want equal rights (equal for heroes but not villains) so thats why the Nerf Hammer is coming down on them.
[/ QUOTE ]
expect khelds to change, human form resistences will drop to accomodate mez protection IMO
and geko was a retarded dev, khelds used to have a -30% res to everything debuff solo
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah that one was funny -
On most veats, most definately on a bane spider (as they seem to be lacking the most in teams, and solo), I would heavily consider stacking Assault with the power pool version, so that you have a high damage buff to you and your team, increasing at least team efficiency. If I stack nothing else on my VEAT it will be Assault, sod the end... lol
