  1. The general rule is that yellows can't be purchased with A-Merits. I think that one is an exception because the "Unique" tag pushes is over 100 Reward Merits, which seems to be the threshold for a 1 A-Merit price (and 200 R-Merits for a 2 A-Merit price).
  2. If you can't run morality missions (because you don't have GR), you can still get A-Merits by trading in 50 Reward Merits and 20 million Inf. In most, if not all cases, this is a better deal than using R-Meritss to buy the item.

And if you do have GR, you can use both methods of earning A-Merits to speed things up even more.

Taken out of context, this is the most amusing advice I've ever seen.

"If you don't like it, just go kill yourself."

    :P
  4. How is she doing that? That looks like the beer alone (before you add the mugs!) should weigh more than she does!

    This is the right answer.

You won't find Crushing Impact or Red Fortune or Thunderstrike in the A-Merit vendor either; they only sell rare, very rare and PVP recipes. At the previously set R-Merit prices, Uncommons would be worth a fraction of an A-Merit each.

    No need to /bug it.

No, when you kill someone, there's a 5 minute cooldown where you can't get rep from them, so there's no chance for a drop from that person, but you can still kill someone else for a chance at a drop.

Once you get a drop, there's a 10 minute cooldown where you can't get a drop from anyone.

Assuming that everything is working as intended, any kill that could earn rep, has a chance to drop a PVP IO, even if the kill is in a zone that doesn't award rep (ie, the Arena).
  8. A small amount of empyrical data, gleaned through a less than perfect method, and in too small of a quantity to be accurate:

I'm going to fill my tray with stuff, record the ticket cost, take it to the market and sell it. All items will be priced for instant sale, unless the item is of unusually high value. Some items may be crafted before listing; in this case salvage costs and crafting fees will also be deducted from profits. Crafted items will typically be listed for just enough to cover salvage and crafting costs. Items of no real market value will be vendored. Total profit after market fees will be noted. Rolls made by a level 50 character.

Large Inspiration rolls (100 tickets each)
    Full tray of 20 = 2000 tickets
    Total profit: 305,824
    Earnings per ticket: 152.9

Common Arcane Salvage, level 10-25 (8 each)
    Full tray of 50 = 400 tickets
    Total profit: 319,520
    Earnings per ticket: 798.8

Common Tech Salvage, level 10-25 (8 each)
    Full tray of 50 = 400 tickets
    Total profit: 24,384
    Earnings per ticket: 60.96

Common Arcane Salvage, level 26-40 (8 each)
    Full tray of 50 = 400 tickets
    Total profit: 2,477,494
    Earnings per ticket: 6,193.7

Common Tech Salvage, level 26-40 (8 each)
    Full tray of 50 = 400 tickets
    Total profit: 512,896
    Earnings per ticket: 1,282.2

Common Arcane Salvage, level 41-50 (8 each)
    Full tray of 50 = 400 tickets
    Total profit: 89,472
    Earnings per ticket: 223.7

Common Tech Salvage, level 41-50 (8 each)
    Full tray of 50 = 400 tickets
    Total profit: 169,088
    Earnings per ticket: 422.72

    Bronze rolls, 10-14 (60 each)
I literally got nothing on my first tray that had even one bid out on it, so I vendored everything, and rolled another tray. Any time this happens, I will do this until I get at least one item that someone wants to buy, and list how many trays I rolled.
    2 trays of 20 = 2400 tickets
    Total profit: 3,718,206
    Earnings per ticket: 1,549.25

    Bronze Rolls, 35-39 (70 each)
    Tray of 20 = 1400 tickets
    Total profit: 5,602,624
    Earnings per ticket: 4,001.9

    Bronze rolls, 45-50 (75 each)
    Tray of 20 = 1500 tickets
    Total Profit: 2,454,454
    Earnings per ticket: 1,636.3

Silver and gold rolls are too expensive to do multiple full trays of, and I know that a tray can have far more profit than my samples, but I'm going to say that it's not likely you'll be able to reliably generate 20,000 Inf per ticket, no matter how you roll.
  9. I have a crafted level 50 Gladiator's Javelin: Chance for Toxic Damage. There are currently none for sale on the market.

I'll sell it for 1.8 billion. PM me or send an in-game tell to @Roderick. If I don't have a character on your server, I'll roll one and deliver it in person.
  10. You can burn 1 million, 10 million, 100 million, or all your Inf (rounded down to the nearest million), if I recall correctly.

    Sorry.

I already joined the coalition of people who refuse to bid more than once on something they want, and refuse to wait more than 3 seconds for their order to fill. Apparently there's an exclusivity clause; I can't join any other clubs or they kick me out.

And I really like my Top Hat and Monocle.
  12. I've got a DP/Energy, and my girlfriend has a DP/Elec. Mine's 50, with a nearly complete build, hers is still levelling.

Both are good at melee or range, but slightly better in melee. Mine is softcapped to S/L thanks to Weave, Combat Jumping, Stealth, Scorpion Shield, and Kinetic Combat in all the melee attacks. By stacking a Stealth IO with Stealth, I can get into melee range without generating aggro, Build Up, Hail of Bullets, Bullet Rain, then finish things off with melee attacks. When it's safer to stay at range, I use Boost Range and the 80' blasts, and hop around with CJ to stay at range.

My GF's DP/Elec is less sneaky and more offensive. She just opens fire at range, usually killing a few as they charge, then unloads the melee and PBAoE attacks as Lightning Field whittles down the ones she's not focused on.

As long as you're not one of the people who hates and loathes redraw with every fiber of their being, you should be able to enjoy either.
  13. From the title, I was expecting a request for some complex formula that looked at "You bid 200,000 on four Demonic Threat Reports (50,000 each)" and a supply which included three below 50k each and lots above, bought the three low ones at the listed cost and used the "change" to buy one of the higher priced ones, so that the average was still 50k.

I would be against a system like that, since it would be too much dev work to be worthwhile, and it would screw over the people who listed low, and encourage prices up, since few people would want to be the low seller.

But that's not what the OP suggested, so it doesn't matter!

To the OP: bad idea, for the same reason. The current system encourages listing lower than your competition. Doing this would encourage prices to rise, because nobody would be willing to risk the potentially huge loss if they listed too low on a big ticket item.

Adjusting the market in a way that benefits the buyer will almost never actually help the buyer, because helping the buyer hurts the seller. Since the seller doesn't want to eat the loss, they'll sell at a higher point to absorb the additional loss. Who pays for that adjustment? The buyer, who is now paying even more than we "helped" them. And if the seller can't recoup the extra loss, then they may choose not to sell at all, which hurts the buyer even more, because now they have to bid an even larger amount, HOPE that it's higher than the other bids, and wait indefinitely for one to show up (see: PVP 3% def IO).

To the OP, even if you don't get your stuff back, it's good to see that others have been keeping the good side of the community active!

    Now, to perpetuate the threadjack:

Pork, to the best of my knowledge we've never met, teamed, or even played on the same server. I know we've never traded PMs on the forums, and I doubt that we've even had an in-thread conversation on the forums. Regardless, I've always considered you one of the Paragons (sorry! I had to! ) of the forums. Don't stray long, the City needs heroes like you.

The thing is, it's not just that people are asking that much for these recipes; people are also willing to PAY that much. If they weren't willing to pay, people wouldn't be avle to sell at that price, because everyone would farm them themselves (either through PVP or A-Merits) instead of paying.

The prices are that high not because people are overcharging, but rather because buyer and seller are AGREEING on what is a fair price.

That was fixed quite a while ago. I got my most recent Dimensional Warder over a month ago by doing the standalone.

And once you've got the arc out of the way, you can just take whatever mission she gives you, abandon it (not complete), and repeat until she picks the right one - though this could take a while if the RNG hates you.
  17. I'd also be happy to see this implemented (Not sure about the badges, but wouldn't) complain.

Certain TFs would still require a certain minimum, or would have to be changed before this could be done, specifically the Cavern of Transcendence and certain Shard TFs.
  18. Cathedral of Pain is Hero OR Villain; because it starts in a base, mixed teams are not allowed. It can be started by anyone who has a functioning base with a Mission Computer in it.

The new arcs from Maria and Tina are loosely based on the originals, but as said above, they're basically new arcs.

If you're working on your Dimensional Warder badge, Anti-Matter still only shows up in Tina's arc. However, Maria's no longer contains all the others; Siege is missing. To get him, you either have to run the old arc via Ouroboros, or do Maria's stand alone missions until the right one comes up.

The change is from "-us" to "-i". Since "Ouroboros" doesn't have an "-us", that change isn't applicable.

Other special rules, such as "Cyclops" to "Cyclopes" and "Nemesis" to "Nemeses" also don't apply, because it doesn't fit those patterns either.

I also say that is would be "Ouroboroses".

I've heard that Scrapper Burn is broken. Brute, Tank and Blaster versions all drop a patch whether an enemy is in range or not. Scrapper version only drops the patch if an enemy is in range, meaning that a FA scrapper hit by an Immob with nothing nearby can't break free.

Also, one person testing the scrapper version reported hitting it, waiting for it to recharge, then hitting it again, and repeating this a few times, and having multiple patches drop when it finally worked (an enemy was nearby, and hit by many "alpha" ticks).

I'm fairly certain that Burn is still pure pseudo-pet, for the ATs it's working properly on.
  22. I'm not sure about Choking Cloud, but generally, if a power doesn't accept Acc enhancements, it's autohit.. Patches, whether dropped at your feet (like Burn) or targeted (like Bonfire) are autohit against anything in the area; Accuracy is unneeded and useless.
  23. Just remember: If you use an edited version of the Mids' database, like in the two versions linked by Warpus, the resulting saves may not be complatible with future official versions of Mids', according to the official Mids' team.
  24. The OP is so awesome, that I decided to go back and read all his posts I couild find that are still on the forums. And in doing so, I found a new sig!
