I've noticed that many people have different expectations of what their SG provides, and of what they can provide their SGs. Some people don't care what their base has, some just want the porters. Others want everything they can cram into it, and some want millions of prestige so that they can build anything and everything they want.
SG mode doesn't really reflect this, but with a (hopefully) not too major change, it could.
First, the "Enter/Exit SG mode" button would be changed so that it has no effect on your prestige earning. All will do is determine if you use your normal costume, or your SG colors.
Second, add a slider with 5 positions on it under the button.
Under the current rules, a character earns full Inf and Prestige up to level 25, then the Inf earning scales down until level 34, at which the character earns half Inf while in SG mode. The slider would alter how Inf/Prestige earning works.
Up until level 25, the slider would be greyed out. During this range, the character is forced into a prestige-earning mode identical to the current sub-25 SG Mode - ie, they earn their full amount of Inf, while contributing Prestige to the SG as well.
After level 25, the slider can be set to one of 5 choices, labeled 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.
At 0%, the character is equivalent to the current "Out of SG mode" setting: 0% of their Inf is converted to Prestige.
At 50%, the character is equivalent to "In SG mode": They lose half of their earned Inf, and generate prestige at the current rate.
At 100%, the character earns no Inf at all, but generates Prestige at twice the current SG Mode rate.
25% and 75% would be midway points between the above settings.
An info box (similar to those that were added to the Options menu) would be added beside the slider, explaining how it works.
Alternately, the slider could be set at any level, but the "Low-Level Mode" would override it, causing the character to earn full Inf and Prestige at the current rate regardless of setting. Again, this would be explained in the Info Box. -
Quote:Yeah, when I posted it, I noticed that a few things are out of date, but most of the major information is still relevant. That chart needs a couple of minor changes: You don't need to be level 35 to ACCESS Rikti War Zone anymore, even though you need to be level 35 to get the badges and start the missions.
Hami-Os can be slotted at level 47. You don't have to wait until 50, like purple sets.
Last edit is May 2010, and the previous one is Dec 2009. It probably could use some cleanup by the wiki gurus. -

I feel dirty, I used the old wikia site when I needed some badge info a few minutes ago. -
Some people have theorized that if anyone on the team is an Incarnate, then the system checks for each person on the team, even if they're not valid, and if one drops for an invalid target, it gets shifted to a valid person.
If this is what's happening, it's not how it SHOULD work. If it's not what's happening, I have no idea what's causing it. -
"The" is a title, and CAN'T be added to the beginning of a name. If you try typing "The" in the name field, it gets shifted to the title right away. The only way around that would be to not type the space, resulting in "TheBlueArrow" or something like that, which it doesn't sound like the OP wants.

Perhaps a better conclusion to your original post would have been "Sellers and buyers both affect the prices on the market, neither sets it on their own."

Quote:I feel confident in saying that, as in previous DXP Weekends, anything numerical (XP, Inf, and Prestige) will be doubled. This applies to defeats, mission complete bonuses, arc complete bonuses, and exploration badges. Not sure if it applies to Day Job bonuses, but I assume it doesn't. Patrol XP will continue to accumulate, but will not be used during DXP; instead, it will only be used to pay off debt. Any left will begin to function again normally after DXP.This may seem a silly question, but that's appropriate. I'm a silly person:
This is experience only, right? So there's no real way a level 50 can benefit from this?
Just budgeting my time, and if any kinds of salvage are there, I'll be on my signature character.
Drops (Salvage, Recipes, Enhancements, Merits of all sorts) have never doubled before, nor do I expect them to this weekend. In the same vein, I expect all forms of Incarnate Salvage/Components to be excluded. -
It's really easy to spot the difference. The "functions like a set bonus" ones just say that they grant you a buff. The "functions like a proc" ones always either say "Has a chance to" or "(does whatever) for 120 seconds".
-
I do the opposite; I slot the new SOs (when I use them) the instant I can, just so that I don't have to sit through all the combine screens that pop up, because they annoy me so much. :P
-
Since when does the demon farm have a timer? Pretty sure I've done it not that long ago without one.
-
Kismet is different because it says "Grants a buff for 120 seconds after using this power" (or something to that effect), just like the Miracle Unique, Numina's Convalescence Unique and the Stealth Uniques. These IOs function like damage procs, but instead of adding a chance for damage, they give you a 2 minute buff when the power is used (in a click power), or a constant buff while the power it's slotted in is on (in an auto or toggle).

I remember when there were no trains! We had to run from one zone to the next! But they hadn't put in the tunnels in the War Walls yet, so we had to get out our spoons and dig tunnels through, uphill both ways! During the First Rikti War! And there was no ferry from Talos to Peregrine Island! If you wanted to get to Peregrine Island, you had to swim there, and then wait for the devs to implement it!
Damn kids, get offa my lawn!

To expand on what Claws said:
Not only will the machine guns eat up the Melee defense that's working against the other guys (but not the gunners), it's an all-round defense debuff, meaning that your Ranged and Lethal defenses (which are likely 0-15%) are going to drop to 0% and then negative values really quickly. Negative defense DOES increase an enemy's chance to hit you.
I'd say about 75% of the attacks that debuff defense are Lethal (Swords, guns, some other weapons), and about 20% are Energy based (Mostly radiation). The remainder are psi and oddball attacks like that one Bane mace attack (which would be stopped by S/L def).
S/L defense is going to provide "Fake Defense Debuff Resistance" the same way it gets "Fake Mez Protect" for squishies: It stops a lot of the attacks that carry the debuff from hitting. Yes, you'll be more vulnerable to Cascading Defense Failure than a character with DDR, but you'll have Damage Resistance to fall back on, and in larger amounts than any defense based character can get.
If you're never leaving AE and just farming fire enemies, as others have said, the defense is superfluous. But if you actually use the character outside AE, S/L if FAR superior to just Melee. -
The LotG +Rech functions like a set bonus. That means that if you get a level 25 one, it remains in effect even when you exemplar all the way down to 22 (But no lower; it stops working if you are more than 3 levels below the level of the IO). It even works if you lose access to the power it's slotted in, as long as you're not too low for the IO to function!

Quote:This is right.Im not sure if this is still the case, or maybe im making it up completely, but I remember hearing that it didnt work in SC or LR due to the powers summoning a pet. I place mine in thunderstrike and have no complaints. I watch it fire often.
Lightning Rod does no damage. It teleports you, and summons a pet. The pet does the damage. If you put the Force Feedback proc in Lightning Rod, it will try to fire on you (10% chance) when you cast the power, and most of its duration will wear off before you even finish the animation. When it hits, it will check against each target it hits, and if any succeed, it will apply the buff to the Lightning Rod pet, not you. -
I don't play stalkers often, so while I knew that CoD was replaced with Hide, I didn't realize that the Immob protection wasn't added to another power.
Correct. To be specific, Acrobatics offers mag 7 (unenhancable) KB protection and mag 2 enhancable (via Knockback enhancements) KB protection. You can push it up to just over mag 11 protection with slotting. -
Absolutely. I only skip it on my flying characters. But my point is that it's not needed for any form of mez protect on a Dark Armor build, except maybe as a -KB IO mule, and Dark has plenty of other places for one of those.

Gift of the Ancients: 7.5%.... Oh, you wanted me to stop there? -
Quote:While Dark's mez protect toggle is missing Immobilize protection, it can be found in Cloak of Darkness, so there's no pressing need to fill that hole with CJ. I suspect that you're thinking of Fiery Aura, where the Immob Protect is provided by a click power, and CJ is (in some people's opinions) a better choice. You want Combat Jumping for immob protection anyway I think....

Quote:+rep. Would read again. The RNG is always with you even if you don't notice it.
Look back at your tracks in the sand...
The places where you see only one set of tracks is where the RNG was particularly nice and carrying you.
The places where there's two sets of tracks is where the RNG was strolling casually along beside you occasionally tossing you a treat and sometimes laughing behind your back.
And of course the areas where there's an impression of a full length body with the head imprint the deepest part is where the RNG knocked you down and was jumping up and down on your head shouting, "Say my name, *****! SAY! MY! NAME!"
RNG is always with you in game, it's just not always your BFF. -
Quote:That won't help with boosters. A NCSoft time card is not "money on your account you can use to buy stuff", it's just one month of game time. A Game Card is the same as a time card, except that it only works for City of Heroes (time cards work for any NC Soft game), creates a new account if it's not used on an existing account, and grants the 30-day jetpack to all characters on the account. The BEST way to do this is to purchase a NCSoft game card, which you can buy at GameStop, WalMart, Seven-11, etc, and email him the code on the card, that way the money information isn't in the form of a credit card or paypal account number.
Granted, if you buy them a month of game time, they theoretically have the money to buy the booster for themself.
The only way to literally buy a booster pack for someone else (rather than giving them the money and telling them to do it themselves) is to log into their Master Account, go to the store, and buy the booster with your own credit card or PayPal. This isn't really a good idea because, even if you trust the person implicitly, giving your account information out isn't a good idea, I think it's against the EULA, and if the system records the master account being logged into from multiple IPs within a short period, it may flag the account as "possible fraudulent use", and when that happens, the account gets banned until the owner can verify ownership of the account, which is a pain, and can result in a week or two of lost game time as the ban gets resolved.
People have been asking for a way to gift Booster Packs for a while, and the devs have acknowledged that they know that we want it. However, something like that is not something that they would have direct control over; it would be in the hands of the Marketing department. If you feel strongly about the need to gift Booster Packs, I would recommend contacting Black Pebble and letting him know. -
Did you check the recipe listings? I just bought one at level 30 for 2 million (I think, it was pretty cheap), plus less 3 million buy it now for salvage.
There aren't a lot of them, but there are a few out there, last I checked.
And no, you can't have mine. I've already slotted it, and can't slot the one that you're offering. -
Try common IOs, level 50. Finding high and low volume items will be easy, middle, maybe less so.
