  1. Sorry, that's kind of a Market forums inside joke. I can't find the post, but one poster who's rather notorious on the forums once made the claim that "95% of the playerbase can't afford SOs at level 50". I was commenting that you are now in the top 5% that can afford SOs.

You go out and buy SOs for all your level 50 characters, now that you're in the top 5% of players that can actually afford to do so.

Last time I hit 2 billion, I put in a bid for a level 10 Glad Armor +Def, figuring that I'd either have 2 bil in storage, or I'd get a deal on a super expensive IO. 3 days later, I won the lottery. Your results may vary.

For 2 billion Inf, you can do a lot. You can make an incredible build for almost any character, or a really really good build for several. You can make sure that every character you make for quite some time starts with a few million, and have each of them marketeer a bit as you level them. You can hoard it so that you've got something comfortable to sit on, or join the 88's and throw it in the money pit to keep warm over the winter. You can give it too noobs (By the way, my friends call me a noob ALL THE TIME. Ask Eric Nelson, he'll vouch for me), or hold a costume contest.

Right now, I have 3-4 billion, spread between a few characters. I'm a hoarder, so I have a ton of good stuff in storage, plus thousands of merits and dozens of A-Merits. And even though I alt a lot, I have more than I know what to do with. It's a dilemma many of us suffer, but I'd rather not know what to spend my money on, than not have the money to slot my characters with.

I was doing a mission where some of the enemies were forced to spawn at 49, and I got shards. I suspect that the actual criteria would be "Cons white or higher to your current level, before level shifts". That would allow Lts and Bosses to drop shards, which is all I can think of to explain it.
  4. If you're asking for a reactivation code, I assume that means that you haven't reactivated your old game account yet? If that's the case, then it's no surprise you can't log into the forums - you can only log into the forums with an active game account.

Another possibility: When the forums were changed, your login was changed from your forum name to your account login (the same login name you use to get into the game). If you can't remember your account name, it can be found in your Master Account.
  5. I actually have the exact opposite problem of what the OP describes: If I miss a button or menu item, I'll click both it and whatever's beside it. This most often happens with the Contact button (I'll click low and simultaneously click the Inactive tab as the window opens), or the Salvage and Recipe buttons (I'll click too far over and click both at once).

There's no "dead space" around any of the components on my UI.

Assault is kinda underwhelming on a brute. Remember that all damage bonuses are based on the base values, and brutes have really low base damage.

Going from memory, so forgive any mistakes:
Punch has a base damage at level 50 of 41.7
Three-slotting with level 50 damage IOs adds 100%
    60% Fury adds 120%
    Rage adds 80%

Without any external buffs, set bonus, incarnate abilities or anything else like that, Punch has a +300% damage bonus, resulting in 166.8 damage.

Assault adds 10.5% damage (for brutes; it varies by AT). That adds 4.4 damage to Punch. For powers that deal more, it will increase proportionately, meaning that it will still be a pretty insignificant addition to your damage.

In your OP, you mentioned a static team of 7 brutes and a kin. Assault would stack, if everyone stayed close enough together, but I assume that the kin is going to be using Fulcrum Shift and Siphon Power constantly. That's going to be enough to keep the team damage capped (or really close) at all times. Regardless of whhat AT the kin is, their Assault should keep the team capped, freeing up the brutes' endurance for important things, like Foot Stomp.

If I were to do something like what you're describing, I'd go for seven SS/Fire, /Dark or /Elec brutes and a kin. The kin would keep all the damage auras and burn patches damage capped, all the brutes would have very high resists, and if the full team ran maneuvers, it would take very little to keep the team softcapped while they were together, if maneuvers alone wasn't enough.
  7. Note that it will only proc on YOU. Not your pets, not your teammates, not anyone else in the area of the power.

Sounds about right. A SS/Fire brute, Elec/Fire brute or scrapper, or Fire/almost anything Tank (plus a variety of other builds) can have capped Fire Resistance and very high Smashing/Lethal Resistance, plus good AoE before they get SOs. By selecting the right farm missions in AE, you can level at ridiculous speeds.

All storgae items (salvage, enhancements, inspirations, and vault door), as well as a few other items, add 100 Prestige/Month to your Rent cost. Salvage storage is only cheaper than enhancement storage for the initial expenditure.
  10. I've been playing for over 4 years. I don't need to be told to train up to level 2. I don't need to be told what to do with Salvage. I don't need to be told that Montague Castanella contacted me. And I don't need to be told that I got a tip.

For those who DO need this information, we have this shiny new pophelp system that is completely optional, ie we can turn it off.

Can we get rid of EVERY popup that shows up in the middle of my screen and forces me to click OK, and move them into the pophelp system? If there's one of those that you really think is super important, you can put it on the (also optional) list of auto-opening pophelps. It would be less annoying, and it would add a layer of consistency to the UI which could desperately use it (here and elsewhere).

It's not so much difficult to implement, as time consuming for the art department to make. All the framework is already implemented.

EDIT: With regards to non-weapon sets using weapons - they'd have to make one set of animations for each weapon used, according to what the devs have said previously, and if you picked different weapons for different powers, you'd have constant redraw. But it's still possible.

That's normal. There's two level 50 Morality missions for each morality. Whenever you complete one, all your Morality and Alignment tips vanish.
  13. Admit it, Zam. You would be the happiest person in all of CoH if they did that.
  14. The +hp power is better on a brute.

The resist and defense powers are equal, though with higher hp, brutes are a bit better off.

The +Dam and Shield Charge are exponentially better on a scrapper.

Both will be good, but when it comes to Shields, the scrapper will generally be better.

In case you're wondering WHY those two powers favor the scrapper:
-Against All Odds gives the same bonus to both characters. However, that bonus, like any other, is based off the characters base values. Since a scrapper's base damage is on a 1.125 modifier, and a brute is on a 0.85, the scrapper gets more bonus damage than the brute. The same is true of Build Up, by the way.
-Shield Charge summons a pet to deal its damage. Pets have a damage cap of +300%. The base is taken from your AT. So a brute with ~100% damage slotting, Build Up, 60% Fury and a few enemies is WAY over the cap, so he does scale 3.4 damage, and CAN'T get any higher. The scrapper doesn't have Fury, but just off slotting and Build Up he's at about 200%, so deals scale 3.375 damage. Any further buff (like AAO or sets) puts him at or above the brute's max damage, and if he pushes himself to the damage cap, he'll do scale 4.5 damage.

That's all from memory, so I might be off in places, but the tl;dr version is simply: Scrappers get way more from the key powers.
  15. I'm working on a Fire/Energy blaster. For thematic reasons, I'd rather pick Fire for his epic pool. I don't exactly play him as a blapper, but I do wander into melee range fairly often, so S/L is far more useful to me than Ranged defense. If it's not, how close can one reasonably get without gimping the build? This is likely to be a frequently played character, so I don't mind dumping a large amount of Inf into him, but I'd rather keep the number of PVP IOs to a minimum.
  16. It's 100%, not 100 points. You lose it all, no matter how much you have.
  17. Only if the ring isn't just the same stats, but is the same power, and cannot be earned twice. Having two copies of that power to use together would be a little too much, in the situations where it's useful.
  18. OK, we've all seen the eleventy million bajillion threads about Lambda and Temp Powers. There's several tasks in the game now that require the use of a temp power, but sometimes, that power gets lost among the dozens of buttons we already have.

Right now, when our inspirations tray is open, it is, at most, half the width of the power tray that it's attached to by default. My suggestion is to add a 5x4 tray (same size as the max inspiration tray) beside the insp tray. By default, it will be collapsed, so it doesn't take up any extra screen space.

All temp powers that are currently for certain TFs or Trials, everything from the Clockwork Immobilizer Mk I to the Orestes Rifle to the Molecular Acids get removed from the Temp Powers list, and added to a new list. This list is specifically for powers that are useless outside the task that grants them.

Whenever you get one of these powers, instead of it being added to your tray (if there's room), it's added to the new tray, which automatically expands. The power is right there for your easy use, no digging required. At the end of the task, the power(s) are deleted (like most are anyways), and the tray collapses again.

Also, when one of these powers is granted, instead of the white "You got temporary power!" (does anyone read the white popups any more?), make it a purple "You got an event power!" (Everyone notices purple text).

This won't solve all the problems that come along with "gimmick powers", but at least it will help with the most common: people not knowing that they have them, and people not knowing where they went when they do get them.
  19. If you want a godmode, but don't like Unstoppable, you can always do what I do, and get Demonic (or whatever it is you silly Heroes call it). And if you've got a high recharge build, you'll have it back more often than the normal 25 mins, too.
  20. Vanity pets are non-targetable and have no bounding box. That last part means that other things don't bump into them, they pass through instead. When you summon two (which wasn't previously possible), they most likely use the same follow algorythm. However, when you stop and they try to land in the proper location, neither of them gets blocked by the other, so they go to the same location and overlap, as you described.

It's probably not working as intended, so go ahead and /bug it. But I doubt it's going to be any kind of high priority item, so unless it's a super easy fix, don't expect it to change any time soon.

It's listed under "Inherent", just like all other Booster Pack powers.
  22. The pack is available (for purchase, if you don't get it for free) for a limited time. Once you have it, you've got it for good.
  23. Achilles was probably Invuln. He should have had a heal. If he skipped Dull Pain, that's his own damn fault.
  24. The same loyalty program that gave you a full Vanguard costume on all your characters, a new badge, and four new emotes.

    Edit: damn you, FW!
  25. It also benefits from +Recharge sets. However, since you can't slot a plain Recharge SO in it, it gets no benefit from Spiritual Alphas.
