  1. Depending on how eager you are to start the new character right away, you may want to wait for Issue 21 and BS brutes. I'm looking forward to rolling a BS/EA myself.

Broadsword and Katana both can add a fair amount of defense by parrying, which makes them pair nicely with resistance based sets. I personally would go BS/Dark.

I'm not a big fan of Fire Melee, so I'm gonna leave that for others to comment on.
  2. They've said that people with high enough vet rewards will keep SG permissions, but they haven't said how much you need.

    -dmg effects

Also keep in mind that if the target has +damage, the -damage will cancel that out first. This is particularly relevant in PVP, where a target could have +damage from slotting, set bonuses, inspirations, team buffs and self buffs totaling 100% or more (Diminishing returns doesn't matter in this case - all the buffs and debuffs are added together BEFORE DR is applied).

Actually, it can be selected. But since they don't exist above a certain level, if you choose them when above that range, you get nothing at all.

In other words, take the Merits.

No, pretty sure he's just talking about the ones that melee ATs get... And that would be Repulse for Energy Aura stalkers only.
  6. Because you're Willpower, not Regeneration.

You aren't Invulnerable. Bullets don't bounce off of you, and if you are cut, you bleed. You are, however, tough, grizzled and strong willed. It takes more than a little cut to keep you down!
  7. If you find yourself using that command often, try this:

    Code:
    /macro GFX unloadgfx
That will give you a button labeled "GFX" that executes the command for you. Then, when you want to use it, it's just one click! Alternately:

    Code:
    /bind NUMPADENTER unloadgfx
Will make it so you can just hit the Enter key on your Number Pad for the same one-button effect. If you use the number pad a lot, just pick a different out-of-the-way key.
  8. Simplest solution to the problem with enemy phasing powers: Turn them into toggles.

If you don't want that guy attacking you, phase him out. When everything else is dead, instead of making the rest of the group useless for 3-4 minutes, just drop the toggle.

If that were true - and I'm not saying that it is - wouldn't it make it so that the destruction of Atlas would have even MORE impact than the destruction of Galaxy?

Atlas is more popular than Galaxy solely for the same reason that Freedom was for so long the undisputed most popular server: people are lazy, so rather than find out what the difference is between multiple unknown quantities, they just click the top thing on the list.

So the woman I KNOW who had to get breast reduction surgery because she was so big that ANY bra she wore cut gouges in her shoulders - including several-hundred-dollar custom made ones... She doesn't exist?

Because nobody except Stalkers HAS Repulse, maybe?
  12. Since the "Average Wait" thing never seems to be accurate, would it be possible to remove that column, and replace it with a "Number in queue" column? Or just add both?

Bronze Rolls 30-34 will give Kinetic Combat:Acc/Dam ... Dam/End ... and the chance to knockdown proc. Also give the Regenerative Tissue +regen proc and Numina Heal and Heal/end recipes. No +regen/+recovery procs

Silver 30-34 will give Kinetic Combat: dam/Rech and all the above. Dont think they give the Kinetic Combat: Dam/End/Rech but i might be wrong.

Think only gold gives the Numina:+regen/+recovery

Best bet is rolling bronze 30-34, less tix and gives better results, just sell enough to get inf to buy a Numina:+regen/+recovery proc imo

I hope that helps ya 8)
35-39 is a smaller table (and thus, higher chance of getting the item you want) and still contains the Kinetic Combats. You lose the chance for the Regen Tissue, but that's not a big deal, and the OP didn't ask about that one. You should roll 10-14 for the Regen Tissue unique anyways.
  14. All the costume parts, emotes, auras, trail auras and costume change emotes are Certificates. That means that you buy them once, and get an email that can be redeemed by EVERY CHARACTER on your account, past, present and future. None of them are per character. However, none of them are "Global unlocks" either - they MUST be individually claimed on each character; buying them doesn't make them automatically available on all.

Any level 50 common salvage can be purchased for 1 Inf if you're patient enough. It's rare you should have to pay more than 1,000 Inf/salvage. You can also get them for free by doing missions or rolline AE tickets. Level 50 common IOs cost about 500,000 to craft and about the same to buy, though you can often get them on the market for almost nothing, and you can get them as drops as well. Buying the recipes from the table, paying "Buy it now? on the salvage, and crafting will run you about 100 million for 90-100 common level 50 IOs.

If you've got the recipes memorized, you don't have to buy recipes, and the crafting cost is halved, so it only costs about 25 million to craft.

Level 45 recipes give only a tiny bit less enhancement value, and use the same salvage, but cost about a quarter what 50's do to buy and craft, so that's about 25 million the expensive way. And if you've got the badges, you can drop the recipe cost and half the crafting cost, to make it about 6.5 million.

When I'm using commons, I regularly slot characters for under 10 million.
  16. I have earned Flames of Prometheus on a Vigilante before. It is not alignment restricted at all.

You might be right. That's why I said "If it's not too difficult". However, depending on how they coded things, it might also be incredibly easy. And it never hurts to ask.
  18. IO recipes can be crafted and sent to other characters, or just mailed as recipes. Costume and temp power recipes can't be "pre-crafted". If it's not too difficult, I'd like to suggest adding a "Craft Voucher" button to all costume part and temp power recipes. Clicking this button would use the same salvage and Inf as a normal crafting, but instead of giving the resulting item to the crafter, it adds a one-use voucher to your mail, allowing you to claim it at a later date or on a different character. This would allow you to easily send costume parts to new alts, and would also allow someone to stockpile temps they like (No more "Crap! My Plasmatic Taser ran out! Damn! My Portable Workbench is still recharging, I can't make a new one!", just claim the next one from your mail between fights).

    Questions? Comments? /signed?

Edit to add: These possibly should create vouchers that go into your normal global mail, or at least count towards your 20 email limit, just for balance issues. Having hundreds of Resuscitators, Backup Radios and Envenomed Daggers available might cause some balance issues, but not so much if there's a limit.
  19. Last time there was a set of powerset proliferation, someone posted a how-to on copying a powerset from one AT to another in Mids'. I'd like to play around with a Broadsword brute, but I can't remember how to do this. Can anyone give me a hand?
  20. Oh, that's what I do already. I'm talking about snatching up the cheap ones now, so that you've got a nice big stockpile for all the people who have just PLed a brand new SR tank or EA scrapper, and want 5 LotG's NAO, and are willing to pay a half billion each for them.

And honestly, doing the work to earn them myself when I can underpay someone else to do it for me just doesn't seem all that ebil.

Hide suppresses enemy-affecting toggles. So no, it shouldn't.

I've never really had the inclination to play EA on a stalker, but I've wanted it on a brute for some time now. I've just never been able to find a primary I wanted to pair it with.

It just so happens that I'm a Broadsword fanboy, and brutes are getting BS at the same time as EA gets tweaked. I think the choice is going to be really easy for me.

Cloak of Darkness would be OK, but I'd rather see Shadow Fall.

I'm also hoping to see Soul Drain, though if we do, I expect it to be late in the set - probably T6 or T7.
  23. The new Powerset Proliferation announcement is defense-heavy with Energy Aura for scrappers (and revamped for brutes), Super Reflexes for tanks, Ice Armor for stalkers and Broadsword and Katana for Brutes (I'm sure there's some people who slot Parry for defense, or at least with a LotG +rech).

So stock up now while it's still possible to find bargain prices, and get ready to make a killing off the people who don't want to get them the patient way!

I don't believe they are. The aura was awarded by switching to the new updater while it was in the testing stage, and the old updater was still available. If the testing is over, and everyone has been switched to the new one (which I think is the case; I don't know, I've been using the new updater since the day it was released), then the aura is no longer available.

However, I seem to recall someone (Zwillinger?) saying that the aura would be made available to people who missed it at some point in the future. In light of the Freedom announcement, I'd guess it's in the store for Paragon Points.
  25. Ctrl+Click setting a power to auto isn't a bind; it's hard coded into the program. The only way to stop it from setting powers to auto is to not do it. Sorry.
