Quote:Edited for clarity. Beginner's Luck adds 20% global accuracy at level 1, and reduces by 1% each level. from level 21 on, you are reliant on the accuracy slotted in your powers, and granted by buffs and set bonuses. You hit consistently at low levels because the devs added a "beginner's luck" mechanic that increases your to-hit while at low levels. It slowly diminishes until it goes away at level 20.
You can get an appreciable amount of Accuracy from sets - five 9% Accuracy set bonuses is slightly better than a level 50 common accuracy IO in each power. I personally prefer having at least one SO worth of accuracy in each power, PLUS 3-5 accuracy set bonuses, a Kismet +ToHit Unique, and a few Acc or ToHit bonuses from other sources whenever possible. -
And so will tanker's Bruising, which is also the same effect.
Not that in all three cases, rather than applying a debuff to the target, it grants a temporary power that gives a -20% resist(all) debuff to self (the critter), and is flagged "Does not stack from same caster".
That means that if a team of 8 tanks were all pounding on a single target with their T1 attack, an attack slotted with the Achilles' Heel proc, and an attack slotted with the Fury of the Gladiator proc, the target would AT MOST have a 60% resist debuff (one of each of the three kinds), even though he might end up with dozens of procs on him between all the attacks.
Also, because of how the proc works, it has to wear off before you can apply a new one; you can't extend it by applying a new proc before the old one wears off. There will always be gaps. -

Quote:/unbind sets the key back to its default. That will only unbind it - to restore the default he will need to bind the original command to that key.
Note you can restore the defaults to ALL keys from the options menu but not to individual ones.
/bind KEY nop (mentioned above) sets the key to do nothing. -
Be careful with them. Price too low, and you risk selling to a low-baller and getting far less than you could otherwise. Price too high, and everyone else will undercut you, and at the end of the weekend, you'll still have the enhancements, but be down the listing fee.

Quote:Targeted AoE, PBAoE, or both?Looking for Range/Melee/AoE Purples, sets or singles..
I'll pay influ or we can trade. I have almost all IOs in the game. u name it i probly have it.
I guarantee you I don't have any full sets I could part with; and I have are already earmarked for certain characters. I may have some doubles kicking around.
And whoever you end up buying from, expect to pay top dollar right now - high end recipes/IOs tend to skyrocket during Double XP. I wouldn't be surprised to see the last 5 on most of the damage sets hit 1,000,000,000 per enhancement by the end of the weekend; enough are half that or higher already. -

Ignoring the desire for more storage at the moment, if your only reason for buying the points right away is reward tokens, have you considered a multi-month subscription? You get all your Rewards up front (though Points are still monthly), and even if you're already on a multi-month, you can pay early through PayPal. That's what I'll be doing to get myself to T9 as soon after release as possible.

In general, this is the answer you're looking for.
As mentioned above, your proc is Unique, you can't slot a second, should you get one.
There is no limit to how often the proc can fire (in a click power. In a toggle, like a damage aura, for those who have one there's a 10 second suppression on the proc firing), so you'll want it in whichever power hits the most enemies per minute.
If, for some odd reason, you always used Shield Charge, then FSC, then finished things off with single target attacks, then you'd want to put the proc in Shield Charge s it's wider, so it hits more targets per activation.
If you use both powers as often as you can, FSC is going to be used far more often than SC. Because of that, even though it hits less enemies per activation, it will hit far more than SC over the same time span. And since proc damage is the same whether you put it in a power that has a base damage of 1 or a base of 1000, the fastest power is hands down your best choice. -
With the "VIP Beta", everyone with an active subscription has access to the Beta Server, but non-subscribers don't. So I'm not really sure if the NDA applies here. If it does, please move this thread to the Beta Forums rather than deleting it, mods. Thanks!
With that out of the way: I was among the many that crashed the gates of VIP/Open Beta today. Unlike many others who headed straight for the new shinies like powersets, I headed for the not-so-shiny, but very desireable leak from Comic-Con: The purchasable Enhancement Trays. I wasn't very surprised, but was pleased to find out that there's other storage available too.
Aside: I was concerned, based on the Devs' previous stance concerning unslotting Enhancements via respec, that we'd only have access to one tray during a respec. This is not the case; we can use all the trays we have unlocked, and potentially pull up to 30 enhancements off a character per respec.
The various items are of varying cost, capacity, and maximum number purchasable. I can't log in from work, so this is from memory:
Enhancement Trays (10 extra) - 1600 points/$20, Max 2
Salvage (10 extra) - 800 points/$10, Max 10
Recipes (5 extra) - 800 points/$10, Max 10
Vault (5 extra) - 400 points/$5, Max 6
Auction House (5 extra) - 800 points/$10, Max 6
All purchases are account-wide.
So, I was looking it over, and trying to determine the value of each to me.
Enhancements: I always slot IOs, even before I use sets. Enhancement drops are essentially vendor bait, and I really don't notice or care if my enhancement tray fills while playing. It will be nice to be able to craft multiple full sets without stopping to slot them in between, but the real value will be in respecs. As stated above, these will allow me to pull three respecs of IOs off a character for each respec used.
Value: I feel that this one is close to the right mark. After all, there may be less respecs purchased as a result of this. I will eventually pick up both of these, though I might save up points rather than paying cash.
Recipes: Recipes are the opposite of enhancenments when it comes to drops. When I get the "Recipes Full!" pop up, I stop what I'm doing and delete crap, mail stuff to myself, or whatever else I need to do to free space. I've even stopped mid-fight ("Hey guys? I'm gonna stop killing you for a minute. No, go ahead, keep doing your thing, I'm not going anywhere" *starts rummaging through backpack*) to make sure that I don't miss out on any potential purples.
Value: I'm uncertain about this one. I want all the slots, but at $2/recipe, it seems a bit steep. Drop it to 400 points, and I'll be all over this. At the current price, I'll get them eventually - possibly via free points.
Salvage: Salvage, I treat much like SOs - when I fill up, I eventually get to the market and dump it. If I look in my salvage window and see that I have 21 Kinetic Weapons, I'll probably delete the stack, but I won't put more effort into saving room for "the good stuff" than that - the best salvage drops are easily obtained cheaply through the market and AE vendor.
Value: Low, to me. I do go out of my way to unlock all the Salvage space I can in-game, even spending Vanguard Merits on the Salvage Sack. But that gets me to 80 slots. I'd likely only buy them at 200 points/10 slots, and then, only if I had nothing else I wanted.
Vault space: Salvage space that can only be accessed when at a special building or in your base. Essentially becomes additional bag space if you have /vault, but that's a T8 reward. It also costs the same amount, for half the slots.
Value: None whatsoever. No matter what the price, I would not purchase these slots. However, if the Vault were changed so that it could hold anything - Enhancements, Recipes, Salvage, Inspirations, whatever! - I'd suddenly place a lot more value on these slots and the /vault command. Still, I'd be unlikely to pay more than 400 points/5 slots if I were even willing to pay that.
Market Slots: I don't store things on the market. I have personal SGs with plenty of bins; I don't need the market for storage. I'm not particularly patient either. I pay buy it now prices, and list most things for 1. So my market slots empty as fast as they fill. I don't tend to marketeer either - I make a lot just playing the game, so when I decide to slot out a character, I usually can without having to find the money. However, it annoys the crap out of me when my salvage window isn't empty yet, but my market slots are full.
Value: I'm OK with $10/5 slots for these, but I'd buy the Enhancement trays long before these, and probably the recipe slots too. And there's no way I'd buy all the slots. I'll never need 30+ market slots on a level 1 character.
Right now, if Freedom went live with these prices and you bought all the inventory increases, you'd be looking at $300 or all your free points for 5 years. I can't say for sure if I think these prices will drop. If they were all halved, it would still be $150 (or more than a 1 year subscription, or 10 months paid a month at a time), or all the points included with your subscription for 2.5 years (2 years, 2 months for a T9 VIP). Some of you are probably looking at these numbers screaming "TAKE MY MONEY!" while trying to cram your credit card into the CD tray. Others are shaking their head thinking "No pancaking way", even to the halved prices.
What about you? What would you buy? What would you buy, if the price drops. What would you never think of buying? And why?
*If I've remembered any of the above prices or limits wrong, or erred in any of the math I did in my head, let me know, and I'll correct it ASAP. Thanks! -

Quote:Yes it does. Under Totals, on the Status tab, Defense Debuff Resistance is the top item under Debuff Resistance.Entropy shield is if anything a Res set yet you've slotted for Def, I'm guessing because it enhances Def-Debuff Protection (mids doesn't show that sort of thing).
Correct. Most Defense Debuff Resistance is non-enhanceable. To my knowledge, only Super Reflexes and Shield Defense have enhanceable DDR, and not all of the DDR in Shields is enhanceable. -
Quote:By my count, the addition of Demon Summoning (which coincided with Dual Pistols) brought us to 608 combinations.Amusingly, with the advent of Demon Summoning as a power set, that means there are now 666 different combinations. Coincidence?
The addition of Electric Control and Kinetic Melee several months later brought us to your totals. -
Do you feel that you're risking losing money by posting the screenshots showing EXACTLY what you're working on? If someone decided to be a jerk and start messing with your niches, it could hurt your experiment a lot, while if you didn't post them, someone just stumbling across them would be far less likely.

Quote:So, youre only VIP if youre an american player? That sucks to some degree.Quote:Where did you get this silly idea?
Are you paying a subscription to play the game? - Then you are a VIP player.
Are you on your free month for just buying the game? - Then you are a VIP player.
There is nothing in there about are you a non American player.
To clear up: Since the server list merge, there is only one Test Server, and only one Beta Server, and all accounts, both EU and NA, have equal access to both. -
Quote:You know what's crazy? Go make a trial account, roll a new character, and level it up a few times. When you hit level 2, it *will* pop up for you. And if you watch really closely, when you hit level 2, Rest will show up for you too, but it will disappear almost instantly. It doesn't show up in mine and hasn't for quite some time. I often forget about putting it there until level 10 or higher. I swear there was a time when it *did* show up.
I really have no idea what causes this bug. It always struck me as a really weird one though. -
Quote:The Unique tag has no bearing on whether or not the IO functions while exemplared lower than normal. For example:Don't unique's fall in as well with the purples and the pvp IOs or is that level specific?
-All purples function at any level. They are also all Unique.
-All PVP IOs function at any level. Only a few are Unique.
-The Steadfast Protection Resist/Defense is Unique. It only functions if your combat level is equal to or greater than (its level -3).
-The Numina's Convalescence Recovery/Regen is a Unique. Since it is a proc, it functions as long as you have access to the power it is slotted in; its level does not matter for this function. However, it stops counting towards set bonuses if your combat level is lower than (its level - 3)
The only IOs that ALWAYS work are Purples and PVP IOs. The rest are either procs, and subject to the availability of the power they are slotted in, or normal IOs or global effects, and subject to the normal limitations of exemplaring. -
Using /hide to hide from tells doesn't really turn them off. She would still receive the message, prepended by "[YOU ARE HIDDEN]", and the sender would receive a message telling them that she was "offline or hidden" (it would not disclose which).
If she were to /ignore the person in question, she would never see anything they have to say to her, nor any invite windows. This is probably the best method for her, as it blocks the jerks, and leaves everyone else able to communicate with her normally. -
Quote:I'm not really sure what you're suggesting there, but if you're saying that you want to use the Wrench costume option on an Arachnos Soldier, I'm afraid you can't. War Mace and Arachnos Mace are two different powersets with different weapon customizations. They aren't interchangeable. Was hoping to make an Arachnos Soldier as the first main character I create. Eric, with i21, there won't BE any starting point other than Galaxy. I'm not even sure if we'll have the option to skip the tutorial. And like I said before, the devs specifically made mention of starting a VEAT in Atlas (but like I said, I'm pretty sure it was during a uStream, and I don't really have the several hours to devote to re-watching them all).
Edit: Just realized that we said the same thing re: the starting point, so ignore that. The rest stands. -
I know that it happens now (fortunately, not in the channels that I hang out in). Adding this option would just give the l33t pwnzorz even more reason to wave their e-peens at each other.
And in the end, it would add nothing of real value to the game. -
Can't remember where I saw it, but they said that ALL 14 ATs start in the new tutorial and can go to either side. I specifically remember them saying that a VEAT can go to Atlas Park at level 1. I think it was mentioned in a uStream.
