  1. Did anyone else read the thread title and think "I put on my cape and Arachnos hat"?

Signature Story Arcs are Task Forces. They follow all the regular TF rules except the minimum team size (most TFs disband if there is only one person on them) and the timer on the rewards (7 days instead of 20 hours). You must meet the minimum level requirements to join them; you cannot Sidekick up into range.

  4. Cancel any recurring billing you may be signed up for (it won't break your already-paid time), and resubscribe, choosing the 12+2 deal. When your time runs out in March, you'll be billed for 12 months, but given 14 months of sub time.
  5. Yes. Most, if not all, non-targetable pets and pseudo pets generate aggro for their caster rather than themselves.

With the Keyes Island Reactor Trial, this isn't as big an issue as it used to be.

  7. EDIT: Never mind. That obviously wasn't your issue.

Check to see if one of those many tabs is the one you want for your bottom half. Drag it to the midway point of the chat window.

If the tab you want isn't there, create a new tab, and drag it to the midpoint of the chat window.

As an alternate method, if you have a different character with the same chat setup, log on to that character and type /chatsave then log back onto the broken character and type /chatload

A better person to ask would be either Zwillinger or Black Pebble, since they work for Paragon Studios, and if they don't know the answer themselves, it's a sure bet that they know who to ask.

Those effects work like set bonuses, so they go away if you exemplar more than 3 levels below the level of the enhancement. So like you say, people tend to prefer the lower level ones.

However, PVP IOs, like the one the OP asked about, function like purples; their set bonuses remain when exemplared to ANY level. In this case, the ONLY benefit to a lower level version is the ability to slot it sooner.

Some are 60, others 80. I think a few were 40. I expect these to be 80 each and probably 260-300 for the bundle of 4.

Who said that we limited ourselves to the forums? I am a member of a couple Facebook groups devoted to the game and shared with them. I repeatedly told people in the global channels I'm in, and if I was teamed and anyone asked about the weapon I was using, I explained the weapons pack and urged them to buy it, even if they were uncertain about getting Titan Weapons. There are methods of communication outside the forums, you know.
  12. I suspect that it isn't back on the market yet because they wanted to see TW (and the pack) in the wild before they set a price tag.

That said, I and many others made a bit of a crusade to tell everyone to buy the weapon pack NOW because it was free and you could buy it without buying TW first. Anyone who missed it because they weren't buying TW until later... I don't really feel sorry for them.

If it's free, but will cost money in the future, why wouldn't you buy it right away? It's not like you personally have to carry around all the extra weapons until you roll the character.
  13. The Battalion is an alien race from our dimension that, in Twilight's Son's future, will have wiped out the Kheldian race (apparently creatures made of pure energy make good batteries!).

The Shadow Shard is an artificially created pocket dimension created by the Midnight Club to house the shattered remnants of Rularu when they imprisoned him. There are no creature native to the Shard; all the creatures there are fragments or creations of Rularu.

I think that the important question is this:

Are they anatomically correct behind those boxes?
  15. Oh, you can use inspirations larger than your tier allows. You just can't earn them yourself. If you are awarded one (by Merit Roll, [Inner Inspiration], or just a regular drop), it's downgraded to the biggest you can use. But if, for example, someone gifts me a large insp, I still have a large insp that I can use for the same effect that you can.

You can't craft anything, you can't slot anything, and any IOs you have already slotted will become nonfunctional (for enhancement value AND set bonuses).
    This isn't entirely correct.

I have two accounts. Both are currently Premium and are high enough tier to earn and use Reward Merits. One is high enough Tier to have an IO license, the other is not.

On my second account, I cannot use Reward Merits to purchase anything related to the invention system - Recipes, Recipe rolls and salvage are all unavailable with a message that I must have an IO Liscense or be a VIP subscriber to purchase this item.

If you purchase Inspirations with Merits, they will be downgraded to the largest type you are eligible for - On one of my accounts "Large Inspiration" purchases are downgraged to mediums, on the other they're downgraded to small. There is no warning about the downgrade, and they still cost full price. The only way for a Premium player to get larger inspirations than their cap is to have them gifted, or to purchase from the Consignment House (or buy dual or team insps from the Paragon Market).

However, this may all be moot - I don't think that a player without the ability to earn Reward Merits can spend them either, though I don't have the means to test that specific part.
  18. According to an old post from Castle, a critter can be Taunted *OR* Placated, not both. The most recent cancels out the other. The Placate will cancel ALL previous aggro you had generated, as Agge said. You can re-Taunt the critters, removing the Placate effect, but it's a waste of time and a needless loss of control.

Placate only affects targeting ability when used on a player by an NPC, or by another player in PVP.
  19. Why would a tank want a placate? If you're only soloing, I suppose I could understand, but I'm imagining the tank firing Frozen Aura, putting everything to sleep and placating it, and then a blaster waking it up with Fire Ball, and everything hunting down the blaster - because they're not allowed to target the tank.
  20. Plus the Snowball power that you can earn in-game expires, what, 2 weeks after you earn it. The one you purchase from the store is permanent.
  21. No, buying Masterminds will let you make them freely, just as if you had a VIP subscription.

If you set the quantity to more than one, the store would not let you make the purchase, as you cannot have more than one Mastermind license per account.

You are also missing the Epic Archetypes, Time Manipulation, and the Signature Story Arcs, and the ability to create a Supergroup or pay base rent.

When Freedom went live, I dropped my subscription and became a T6 VIP (Almost T7). Since then, I've bought points a few times, and am now a T7 and partway through T8. I have quite a few points banked from my purchases, but I slowly go through them: I've bought a few costumes and power sets, and I paid for First Ward and each of the Signature Story Arcs.

Eventually, I'll go back to VIP, because I'd like to get in on the Incarnate stuff that I've skipped. But until then, I'm quite happy spending a few bucks on points when I have it, rather than paying a subscription every time it comes up.

If I were a lower tier, I may not feel the same way - $5 for the Sig Arcs plus $2 for the IO license plus $2 for the market license means that I'm paying $9 a month to get the minimum amount of stuff I want - It's worth paying the little bit extra for a subscription.
  23. Just tried to use the Wisp Aura on the Character Creator, and they worked. Didn't check, but I assume they are there at the in-game tailors as well.
  24. Yep, as of this morning, character slots are half price: 240 for one, 400 for two, 800 for 5 for the next week.
  25. The detailed info says "11 items". Going through the "New Releases" (Can we get the New Releases pruned down to this week's and last week's offerings, please?), starting on page 17 the 11 items following the bundle are:

    -Throw Snowflakes Emote (40 points)
    -Offer Gift Emote (40 points)
    -Accept Gift Emote (40 points)
-Present Costume Change Emote (80 points)
    -Stocking Cap (40 points)
    -Ear Muffs (20 points)
    -Santa Gloves (40 points)
    -Santa Boots (40 points)
    -Flaming Naughty Halo (80 points)
    -Golden Nice Halo (80 points)
    -Throw Snowball Power (80 points)
Total - 580 points, discounted to 400 points by buying the bundle.

Looks like it's basically an account purchase of all the costume stuff from the Candy Keeper, plus a permanent Snowball power.
