Yup. Gets really interesting when you're doing a story arc, and the arc missions are all on the bottom half, and then the arc needs a street hunt. Of course, back then, they didn't have Story Arc Titles in the mission descriptions, so you'd just keep on clicking the bottom one, wondering "What the hell does this have to do with anything?" until the non-arc missions run out and all that's left is the street hunt... and then you realize what happened.
Hasn't happened to me in years, but when I was new and hadn't figured out how the contact dialog was organized, it happened to me all the time. -

Quote:No need to pass the red star. I run a solo SG and a friend joins once a month to pay rent for me. I've kept the Super Leader position for over 5 months now - that part is NOT limited by Premium status. You will also not be able to pay base rent, so...
a) if you have a solo super group, clear out the storage units and delete them.
b) if you have the red star for a super group, give to someone you know and trust will stay subscribed.
Quote:Funny when I dropped to premium and am only tier 5 I had both the veats and heats unlocked. Never had to pay a dime for either of them.
I don't know what causes Epics to unlock on some accounts, but according to everything that's been put out by Paragon, it's not intended; Epic ATs have to be paid for, or gained through a subscription. -

Some guy walks up to you and hands you a dollar. An hour later, he does it again. He continues coming up and handing you a dollar every hour, on the hour all day.
The next day, he walks up to you and hands you 75 cents. Half an hour later, he comes back and gives you 75 cents again. All day, he shows up on every hour and every half hour and gives you 75 cents each time.
Which would you prefer? -

Quote:This would be a really nice option. I can see how Accolades might make balance issues; perhaps grey them out until you reattain the minimum experience level to have them?I wish they would implement a "restart" option--allows you to restart a character basically from level 1, picking new powersets and even a new archetype if you want, but hanging on to all of your badges.
I personally have rerolled several characters when new powersets come out, including deleting my main at 50 - twice. -
Why is Suppress Pain a periodic heal for Corruptors, and +Regen for Masterminds? I remember reading an explanation way back when the set was introduced, but I can't remember what it was.

Actually, a much simpler way, now that I think of it:
Log into EVERY server. Make a note of how many character slots you have on each.
Edit: Make sure that you're counting slots (full and empty!), not characters.
For each server with more than 12 slots, you will have (Total number of slots - 12) server slots.
Server slots can be used to unlock characters on that server only.
You will have 2 global slots, plus one global slot for each unclaimed character slot you have (regardless of whether it is purchased or earned). Global slots can be applied to any server (except Exalted), and become Server Slots once applied.
One other thing you'd lose as a Premium: Forum access: When Premium, you can only post to forums flagged "ALL ACCESS", and you have read-only access to the rest of the forums in the English, French and German groups. You will lose ALL access to the Beta forums (you won't even be able to see that they exist). -
Quote:Epics can NOT be unlocked with the Rewards system, they must be purchased. Yes, you'll have Praetoria and the Alignment system.(I know that because I'm already Tier 8/9, I'll get lots of stuff. I can play Controllers, Masterminds, Epic ATs... Also I got myself the Going Rogue box, so I should have access to Praetoria and Alignments and all that, right?)
Quote:Is there a way for me to determine how many character slots I'll have after I drop VIP?
EDIT: Curse you, Chad! -
Make the one that loads your default settings a bind rather than a macro, and then save it to your default bind settings. Then, on all new characters, you'll automatically have a button you can press to load the default settings. You'll have to load the bind file on all your old characters to get that button on them though.
Or, if the existing characters have a lot of binds that you don't want to destroy by loading a full bind file, just manually add that one bind to them. -

I know you won't get tickets, XP or Inf. I assume you won't get Prestige either. I am unsure if you get inspirations or not.

According to a response in the Freedom Friday Facebook posting a couple weeks ago, the issue with player housing is server storage space. Each player apartment would take up comparable room to a base, but instead of having one for almost every Supergroup, you'd have one for almost every player.
I don't think I've ever seen a definitive "No", but I've seen several firm redname responses that basically boiled down to "Don't hold your breath".
I wouldn't complain about housing becoming an option though. -
1. PVP Recipes drop from players only. They drop in both PVP zones and Arenas. They will never drop from critters.
2 and 3. You only have a chance for a PVP recipe drop if it's a "reputation valid kill". In a PVP zone, it's simple: If you didn't get rep for killing them, it didn't even roll to see if you get a drop. It's the same rules in the arena, but since arena kills don't give rep, there's no in-game indication of when the check is made. On top of that, if you ever do get a PVP recipe drop, you are instantly ineligible for any more drops for the next 10 minutes. Health does not directly factor into this consideration. If you gank someone who just popped a wakie, then you might get a recipe, but only if it was a "rep valid kill".
If a member of a team makes a "rep valid kill", and a PVP recipe drops, the recipe does NOT go to the person who made the kill. It is randomly distributed, just like any other recipe drop would be. -
Quote:I hate the "toggle everything off" travel powers like Rocket Board and Coyote. Now that they have the tech to do animal transformation travel powers, my money is on exploiting (and I mean the word in a good way here) that tech to release more things to transform into before developing more travel powers that use new or different tech.
That said, if they made a power that transformed you into some kind of Firebird/Phoenix and mimicked the stats of Rocket Board or Magic Carpet, I'd be all over that in an instant. -
I do my Tips in Talos, so that if I run out of Tips, I can pick off Sorcerers and Ancestor Spirits for badge credit. Mobs in Atlas can't drop tips if you accidentally run out (which is common for me, since I usually speed my tip missions).
You learn pretty quickly which Tips send you out of zone, and can dismiss them when they show up. There's a system in place that makes it so that if you complete or dismiss a Tip, it can't drop for you for a certain length of time. The devs never said how long, but I personally have never seen a Tip that I've dismissed drop again before I completed my daily Tips.
My way is probably not the fastest, but it's the way that makes me happiest.
If you want to load up on tips real fast redside, find a Miner Strike and unload your biggest AoEs. I like spawn diving and using [Hail of Bullets], myself. Just run fast when you're done. :D -

To unlock Katie at 50, do Buck Salinger's arc "Crossing Over" through Flashback (Hero/Vigilante only).
There are a few ways to get BP masks - I prefer to get Unai Kemen's outdoors mission full of Banished Pantheon and set it to -1x6 to -1x8, and then repeat it. You need to set it to x6 or more, or else you won't be guaranteed a boss in every spawn. At x8 you'll get 2-3 in most.
Illusions can be done the same way, but with Carnie missions instead. Just find a mission with a big map and set it to the highest difficulty you can handle.
Note that you do NOT need to turn on "I want to fight Bosses while solo", and I personally suggest leaving it off. The Bosses will scale down to Lieutenants, and will still count towards the badges. Also remember that there was a recent change to the Carnie badge: The Dark Servants and Phantasms count for the badge too.
EDIT: Another way to get Archmage is to go Villain, and earn the Demonic Badge, and then switch back to Hero. On returning to Hero side, you'll be awarded Archmage, since they're equivalent Accolades. You won't get any of the regular Hero prerequisites automatically if you do it this way.
I personally find Demonic a LOT easier to earn than Archmage. If you decide to try this way, I find that the best way to get Coldhearted is to run back and forth across the north shore of Cap au Diable, picking off Hordelings as you go. The other badges are fairly straightforward. -
That sounds like a bug then - you aren't supposed to be able to override rooting by using other powers, emotes, etc, and every time we've had the ability to, the devs have quashed it as soon as they found out about it.

Quote:I'm not sure if you can summon pets/pseudopets while under an Only Affecting Self effect.Using Invisibility power: I don't believe so, as it sets you to "Only affecting self," as I recall.
Invisibility can also be granted by Group Invisibility or Grant Invisibility from another player. Placing mines will not break either of these forms of Invisibility. However, I believe that one (both?) of them breaks once you attack or get attacked, instead of suppressing (ie, once you become visible, you STAY visible until the power is reapplied). -
Quote:During the animation for Revive, you can't do ANYTHING except go through the animation. If you click MoG right away after clicking Revive, then MoG queues up, you go through the animation (with the enemies beating on your defenseless body), and THEN MoG activates.except your wrong, mog activates very fast, if u click it actively right after u hit rez you will unless you suffer evena fractional lag spike as does happen if your in a thick battle on a slower comp or have your graphics cranked to high. tip for regen dummy down your graphic settings even on a high end comp it does wonders to increase power responsivness a regen especially needs.
The only exception is if you have a high-end Invention build with a lot of Defense, +HP or other survival bonuses built in, which stops you from taking all the hits. On a SO-only or light IOs build (like someone who has only been playing a few weeks would have), you WILL die before the animation ends.
Quote:My BS/Regen has on numerous occasions self rezzed and mog'd in extremely thick groups of various types. Ive done it when exemped and running things like TFs, I have a fond memory of taking on a room including 8 PPs in a manticore tf, I died once...ONCE and then I killed them all.
Quote:it doesnt work for WP because WP doesnt have an equiv of MoG.
Quote:I dont speak theory when it comes to regen I preach the TRUTH. <snip> Regen is still mighty, its the faith in it that is all that is lacking. -
-
Quote:That's a great theory, but it doesn't work like that. How does a regen get defeated ? I mean ever! You might be dropped, but that just means revive+MoG and your back up barely missing a beat.
Most rez powers either stop the enemies from attacking you (Massive knockback or stun in fire and dark rezzes, respectively), or apply a short-term "Untouchable" effect. Neither Revive nor Resurgence do either of these. I'm uncertain if this is a bug or intended function. Furthermore, the buff Resurgence applies DOESN'T apply until the animation finishes. And you can't activate any powers while the animations are playing either.
This means that you rez, and whatever killed you smacks you back down before you're even allowed to try to MoG or anything else like that. -

If you're over the Inf cap for your tier when you drop to Premium, you do not lose anything. However, you cannot gain any more until you drop below the cap. If you earn more (such as through defeating enemies) it will give you badge credit, but will not be added to your total, nor will it be "banked" and given to you later; it is lost. If you try to claim Inf in a trade, from the market, or from emails, you'll be given the same error as if you were to do one of these things when at (or too close to) the hard cap of 2 billion.
An Invention license allows you to get recipes and salvage as drops, to use crafting tables to create IOs, temp powers and costume parts, and to slot IOs in your build. When the IO license expires, if you haven't purchased a replacement, completed Tier 7 of the rewards tree, or become VIP, then you will stop getting salvage and recipe drops, will no longer be allowed to craft anything other the Lost Curing Wand, and all IOs in your build will grey out and stop giving any effects (just as if those slots were empty). Regaining an Invention License (through purchase, attaining Tier 7, or resubscribing) will reactivate those slotted IOs.
