Checking that box seems to have no effect whatsoever on whether or not you get the newsletter. I personally get 0-6 copies of each one sent out, seemingly at random.

    Weekly TF

There was a newsletter sent out a couple weeks ago that had this week's and next weeks listed in it.
  3. However, a VEAT can still only unlock the first five costume slots; the sixth is wasted if you try to use all the unlocks.

I just recently resubscribed. I did many flashbacks during my Premium period, but as leader and not, teamed and solo. VIP membership doesn't have any impact.
  5. Ghetto Bug?
    Bug You 2?
    Escher (The Big Bug)?
    Some other Bug?

    I'm so confused... O_o

Whoever it is, Happy Bugday to you!

EDIT: You said Danish, so that means it can't be Escher. But he's the only Bug I know outside the game, so I'm still confused.

In consideration of other people casting portals nearby, if you've just opened an Ouro portal please don't go through it until they complete their portal casting.
Actually, if you zone to Ouroboros, your O-portsl despawns, even if you entered someone else's. It didn't always work that way; I suspect they changed it because otherwise there would potentially be random O-portals all over the place wasting server resources unnecessarily.

To the OP: If you're not in the same zone as teammates using O-portals, do you have a power set to auto (Control-clicked so it has a green circle)? An auto-firing power should be waiting until the interruptable power finishes before triggering, but maybe it isn't?

  8. There's no slider or dropdown. When you talk to the pillar, it opens a window with a bunch of bars that say things like "Protector of Innocents (1-14)" and so on. If you click on one it will expand to show all the available missions in that bracket.

There is a scrollbar on the right. It's possible that it's defaulting to the bottom of the window. If that's the case, just scroll up.

If you're actually not getting any access to the other brackets, I don't know what to suggest; I'm in the middle of doing a mid-level flashback right now, and I had no problem selecting it.

Castle's reason for no shield throw is that the instant it leaves your hand, it's part of the powers system, not part of your costume. Therefore, everyone would throw the same generic shield, while their regular shield was still attached to their arm. It was scrapped as incredibly stupid and stupid looking.

Since then, we have had power customization added to the game, so it MIGHT be possible now.
  10. Yes.

    /macro CC1 "local ACTIVATE: TITAN MODE!!!!$$cce 1 ccelightning$$pow_exec_name Unstoppable"

Note that activating a power and emote in the same macro or bind doesn't always work, animation-wise. The power may prevent the emote animation from playing, in which case it would look like you have just used a regular costume change, rather than a CC emote.
  11. /macro CC1 "local ZOMG LOOK AT ME CHANGE MY COSTUME!!$$cce 1 cclightning"

    or

/bind X "local ZOMG LOOK AT ME CHANGE MY COSTUME!!$$cce 1 cclightning"

Note that if you are already wearing the costume the bind switches you to (1 in this case), or are still on the costume change cooldown timer, you will still do the speech part, but won't change costumes. There is no way to override this.

You can also use "group", "broadcast" or any other chanelname instead of "local". And don't forget the quotes - binds with $$ in them break if you forget the quotes when creating them.
  12. Once you've got at least one Peregrine Island contact, run a few missions from them. They give new contacts after 1-3 missions usually, which is a lot quicker than radio missions. You may have to go through several before the Random Number Generator gives you the one you want.

Also, try hitting the "Find Contacts" button on your Contacts list, and scrolling to the end of the list. There's always one "standard" contact for your level range on that list, but I forget who the 45-50 Hero one is.
  13. That may be because Energy Aura's stealth power doesn't suppress, except for a glowie click. Though the "Notify Enemies: Always" part should aggro them regardless of how much stealth you've got, or whether it's suppressed.

I e-mail proceeds to myself and DELETE. And yes, i'm taking 50s. And yes, multiple. It takes me about 5-7 days to 50 a project and sometimes thats the characters whole run. No reason to keep it around once I learn what I needed from that process. Irecently imploded my 1st Incanate Tank. i spent about 4 months on him. He was a beast in his day. All incarnated out. I e-mailed 1300 threads from him that I am still using. Nom Nom Nom.

If I like the name I immediately re-roll a 1st level as a name holder.
This, more or less. Though I don't go 1-50 nearly so fast (I prefer to enjoy the trip), I often get bored with characters at 50. If they aren't what I was looking for, I don't keep them around. If I like the costume, I save it. If I like the name, I camp it (sometimes). But I only play on one server, so I'm not going to waste slots holding on to characters I'm never going to play again. And moving them to another server is pointless; I'm not going to play on that server, so there's no point in saving them.

Hell, there was even one character that I enjoyed levelling so much (before flashback existed) that I deleted him and rerolled him, just to do the story arcs I had missed before.
  15. What I don't understand is WHY you would want this back?

Tank: You guys stand here. I'll herd them up.

    *ten minutes later*

Scrapper: I'm bored. Since you haven't aggroed these guys, I'm gonna kill them.
Tank: NOOOOO!! You have to wait until I herd them all! It's more efficient my way!
Scrapper: Whatever. I'm not slowing anything down, hell, I'm speeding it up.
    Tank: No! /kick

    *ten minutes later*

Tank: OK, I've got them all herded. Blaster, nuke them.
    Blaster: ...
    Tank: Blaster?
    Blaster: ...
Defender: I think he fell asleep.
Controller: This is boring, and I didn't even get any XP. I'm gonna go join Scrapper and punch some faces. /leaveteam
Defender: Sounds good. Me too. /leaveteam
Blaster: Huh? What did I miss?
    Tank: Buncha whiners.
Blaster: Oh, they're all herded? Awesome!
Tank: I'm gonna go find a team who knows how to play the game right.
    Blaster: /pow_exec_name Inferno
    Tank: /leaveteam
Blaster: Wait! Where did you go? Come back! Oh god my spleen!

Yeah... Not my cup of tea.

As far as the aggro cap goes, a simple solution might be to change it from the flat 17 to (16 + (Threat^2)). That way, someone with a Threat Level of 1 would still have the same 17 they do now, using a Threat reducing power could drop it to 16, and Tankers (with a Threat of 4) could aggro up to 32. Groups are still prevented from herding entire zones, but the aggro dynamic becomes more... dynamic.
  16. A Blaster should never be "gathering aggro". No matter how well built you are, attacks will get through, and your survival stats just won't be high enough to keep you upright for long.

If you want to do something similar to what you suggested in the OP, your best bet it to either let a tank, brute or scrapper do the gathering for you, since they can handle the risk far better, or to sneak in while stealthed and unload AoE destruction by surprise, and kill them before they can get off more than a few attacks. You'll probably want to slot for some defense if you go the latter route.

    States???

If you check the Dev Digest, you should be able to find a post or two from Posi a couple weeks ago confirming this.

Statesman will remain in the game as-is for the time being. Phasing technology will NOT be used on him; he will remain there for everyone, and then will be removed for everyone. He will be removed from all missions, task forces, and the game world, with someone replacing him where needed (most people assume Hero One or Ms. Liberty will be replacing him). All badges related to him (such as for fighting him in Recluse's Victory) will have their requirements updated. The changes will all go live with the release of Issue 23.

The game automatically spent 12 of those tokens for me, filling up most of tier 5.

Anyone know how the game decided what to spend the tokens on, or why if it was going to spend my tokens for me it didn't spend the last 2? Probably a silly thing with which to concern myself considering the enormous number of changes since I last played, it just seems really arbitrary.
Accounts that existed before the transition to CoH:Freedom had Vetran Rewards awarded to them based on the old Vet system. In order to avoid taking anything away from you and forcing you to reselect the same things anyways, some of your tokens were spent to preselect the Paragon Rewards that correspond to the Vet Rewards you already had. Any that are left over after that are left unspent so that you can redeem them in the order you choose (limited by your Reward Tier, of course).

    coyote form

My understanding is that it's a bit faster than Ninja/Beast Run to account for the fact that you can't turn on Sprint in Coyote form.

Remember that, if you know the name of the power, you can type it in chat in square brackets to create a clickable link that shows its stats. I think the power name in this case is [Coyote Form] . Hopefully I'll be corrected if need be; I don't have the power and can't log in right now, so I'm not positive on the name.

    It's really simple:
-There's two types of attacks: Combo Builders and Combo Finishers.
-Combo Builders give you one Combo Point each (Combat Readiness is a weaker version of Build Up that also adds 3 Combo Points)
-You can have up to 3 Combo Points. If you go more than 5 seconds without using a Combo Builder, your Combo Points vanish without effect.
-When you use a Combo Finisher, it uses up all your Combo Points. The more Points you have, the better the attack is.

To the OP: From what you listed, numerically, Super Strength is the best. In terms of fun, I enjoy both StJ and SS, but I like StJ best.

Me too. I just tried it as a slash command - doing so returns the value of the stopinactivedisplay flag. Leaving it at 0 makes it function normally, /stopinactivedisplay 1 does indeed freeze the display when the program is in the background.

    Thanks for the tip, Bill!

As a Premium, yes you can create a new character in an unlocked slot while you still have locked characters. What Rajani says suggests that it would work that way for VIPs too. Since I'm resubscribing in a couple days, I think I should test that when I do. It would be interesting to see what happens.
  23. No he's not. That one only applies when converting a pre-Freedom account during the Issue 21 release.

    CoX Riddles

I just realized, none of the things listed in the OP are riddles; they're trivia.

Riddles have cryptic clues that hint at their answers:

    Code:
    This thing all things devours:
    Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
    Gnaws iron, bites steel;
    Grinds hard stones to meal;
    Slays king, ruins town,
    And beats high mountain down.
    Code:
What has roots as nobody sees,
    Is taller than trees
    Up, up it goes,
    And yet never grows?
    Code:
    Alive without breath,
    As cold as death;
    Never thirsty, ever drinking,
    All in mail never clinking
    Code:
A box without hinges, key or lid,
Yet golden treasure inside is hid.
    This is just a question:

    Code:
What have I got in my pockets?
  25. Two decent computers, four instances of the games on REALLY LOW settings on each?

My computer and laptop are both very low-end, and if I crank everything WAY down, I can run two copies of the game (poorly) on each.
