  1. Sorry, I'm still hung up on the thought of "Carp Waffles", and wondering how anyone could think that's a good idea.

I was going to suggest Sausage Melee, but that sounds like a good way to get the thread moderated...
  2. I first heard about this command from someone in a global channel that was having difficulty making it work. I looked at the parameters, made a guess, and had it work as expected after only a couple tries. The other person could not make it work at all, even after copy/pasting what I'd been entering.

With the help of others, we discovered that it was the space in his name that was causing the problem. We could all use the command to send mails to me or any of the other testers with one-word names. We could not get the command to send mail to multiple-word globals. We tried "@Global Name", @"Global Name", @Global_Name, and every other combination we could think of, but every mail we sent either failed with an error message, or disappeared, sent to a wrong address (for example, when someone tried @GlobalName).

I don't know if this bug still exists, or if it's been fixed.

Shield Charge definitely does work while off the ground. It's not super long range though, so if you're too high, you might not be able to SC all the way to the enemies. And with both SC and other targeted powers, I've seen the reticle turn red when the target was in range if it's targeting somewhere in the air, or if there's something solid behind you close to the camera. Maybe you've run into an issue like this?

You're right about Foot Stomp. It doesn't work off the ground. My solution on my flying Shield/SS tank was to Shield Charge in, turn off Fly while SC is animating, and queue Foot Stomp. It helped having Fly bound to a thumb button so that I could quickly turn it on and off.

Since I've never used it, I didn't know Hurl required you to be on the ground. Thematically, it makes sense though, since the description does say something about tearing up a piece of ground at your feet.

I haven't looked at the set at all yet, but if the power's recharge is no more than 5x the duration, it can be made permanent.

Assuming the numbers above are correct, you'd need a total of 350% recharge. 100% is the base amount, assume 95% from slotting, that leaves 155% from buffs and set bonuses. If you slot less recharge, you'll need proportionately more global recharge.

Assuming it's 3-slotted for recharge, Hasten needs about 120% global recharge on top of its 70% bonus to be made perma. So if you've got perma-hasten, you'll need about 60% recharge slotted in the power (or two recharge SOs) to make it perma.

Kal is a very well done SF. It's my second favourite TF/SF in the game, after Tarikoss, and just slightly above Lady Grey.

    Things we know:

Converters have been in the Live build (in an incomplete form) for some time - after all someone found the UI for it months ago.

The devs don't like things being different between Beta/Test/Live versions. Putting something in for Beta, then removing it from the Live patch risks messing things up.

Regardless of the above, there ARE things that are different between Beta and Live. They guy who sells you Empyreans for 1 Inf - who is suspiciously absent from Live - is a perfect example.

    My theory:

The devs have a flag that can be set on various systems. If the flag is set one way, the system is fully enabled. If it's set the other, the system only functions on Beta. Used properly, this flag allows things to accidentally leak from a Beta build to a Live one without a repeat of (for example) the people who bought Titan Weapons over a month early.

Furthermore, I suspect that the flag isn't a toggle that can be turned on or off the way events are; it's probably hard-coded in, so that it can't be accidentally turned on or off on the Live build.

If I'm right, and someone forgot to change a 1 to a 0 (or vice-versa) in the final build, then the converter system would have gon live fully functional with today's build - but turned off. And, if it's turned on and off the way I think it is, the "fix" is a simple change of a few bytes at most. If that's the case, it will likely be corrected on Thursday or Tuesday in a minor patch containing a couple other bug fixes.

  8. If we're getting upset about the Reward Toker:Super Packs ratio (which is perfect in my opinion), shouldn't we be even more upset that we can't buy Empyreans for 1 Inf on Live?

    Stalker Snipes

Yes, but being ranged, they can be fired much more safely, with no risk of being hit by errant AoEs, or transferred aggro when a teammate dies or flees. The reduction in damage is the cost for the increase in safety.

Of course, if it's the same damage scale as Assassin Strike, but using the Ranged Damage modifier rather than Melee Damage, it'll be lower automatically anyways.

Once you file a ticket, then our Customer Service team will investigate. They have access to new tools that will update your account if they find that your account is affected. Additionally, I have been told that the Paragon Reward Token system should be fixed, and if you have any concerns, our CS department does have tools to audit and correct the amount of Paragon Rewards on your account.

I cannot stress enough that the forums are not and will never be the hands-on support mechanism that i believe you are looking for. We're not going to publically discuss your private and personal information on a PUBLIC forum.

That said, to everyone else experiencing a problem with Paragon Point Stipend deliveries or Reward Token balances/deliveries, please file a support ticket.

Someone asked for an update, i got one and delivered it.

The last billing update to our back end just recently occurred (matter of days), so if your past experience was weeks or months ago, then our Support Teams may be in a better position now to investigate and assist you.

I like the idea, but not the implementation. If this is what's supposed to replace the T9 pet in a normal control set, I'd expect it to be as good as the pet - Not just an AoE stun with a gimmick.

    Here's what I'd do:

-First, make it a permanent pet.
-Give it an autopower that gives it a reasonable amount of unresistable resistance and defence, a 100% unresistable regeneration debuff, and 100% resist, defense, heal and regeneration resistance. This makes it so that its built in resistance and defense are all it gets - it can neither be buffed nor debuffed. The heal and regeneration resistance mean that it can't recover from its injuries. This guy is built to die, just not right away.
-Give it an AoE autopower that applies a taunt and a slow.
-Give it several fast recharging, short duration ranged AoE mezzes (Knockdown, Immob, Stun), each with a brute/tank style built-in taunt. No damage in any of its attacks.
-Give it a death power, like Nemesis Vengeance or Rikti Monkey Gas. Make the power roughly equal to EM Pulse: Stun, End Drain, -Recovery. It may or may not need the the Damage to Robots part.

    Stalker Snipes

This isn't so much a suggestion, as me asking for opinions from other players.

If Stalker Snipes were given the Assassin Strike treatment (Range, Accuracy, Endurance, Recharge left the same, shorter non-interruptable animation with similar damage to the current version with a chance to crit when used unhidden, and long version with an actual Assassin strike when hidden), would they become worth using?

I'd say that the Assassin Strike (Assassin Shot?) would have to do more damage than a crit, but less than a melee Assassin Strike, for the sake of balance. Personally, I think this would make them worth taking, especially since they'd become useable in combat as a filler attack.

It's just too bad that, without Hide, there's no way I can think of to give this change to Blasters, Defenders and Corruptors too.

I was actually considering respeccing into Elec Mastery, and considering that I currently use Char the same way you suggest, that would probably work for me. And with a 16 sec recharge, it should be a 100% proc rate even before I catalyze. I've heard that there's an issue with some Epic powers not taking ATOs - do you know if that affects Shocking Bolt?

True, but Electric is generally agreed to be one of the lower performing blaster primaries.

I was hoping to get a "third blast" out of Tesla usin the mez/proc combo mentioned above. With a 10 second recharge, that's a 83% proc rate, which is pretty damn good. It's just not as reliable as I'd hoped.

It would be a 50% chance in a 6 second power... It might not be too horrible in Voltaic Sentinel either.

My first character - and first 50 - is an Elec/Energy blaster. The longest single target attack is Tesla Cage, at 10 seconds. The only attacks over 12 seconds are the Snipe, Nuke, two AoEs. The pet has a 20 second recharge, but I would assume the PPM would be calculated off the pet's attack - which has a 6 sec recharge.

I suppose I could use it in Total Focus, but he's a flyer - I'm almost never in range to use melee attacks.
  19. Any proc that causes damage or debuff will notify enemies.

Even if it didn't, the damage from Lightning Rod will notify enemies. Since they can't aggro on the source of the damage (the untargetable pseudopet), they'll go for the next thing on the aggro list: you. If you don't have a really high defense, the enemies will break your Hide before you can get an Assassin Strike off, and might even hit you even if you're softcapped. Your best bet as an elec/ stalker would be to target the boss, LR in, queue Thunder Strike while LR animates, and get as many crits as you can score off the two AoEs.

Actually, after i22 goes live, Lightning Rod -> Thunder Strike -> Uninterruptable unhidden Assassin Strike (plus Stalker proc) -> rehidden by proc -> Fireball -> Placate -> Thunder Strike would give you several AoEs in a row from a Hidden state (and thus a 50% crit chance on each target). And LR and TS will both take the PVP -res proc.

  21. Crab Spider.

It's trivial to get to 32% def (all) without using any set bonuses, which puts you a small purple from the softcap. You can easily cap M/R/AoE or S/L/F/C/E/N with sets, based on your personal preference. You also get reasonable resist (all) and a Dull Pain clone for the hits that get through. Depending on which one(s) of the level 1 armors you take, you have mag 2 or 4 (or 6 if you take both) protection against all forms of mez except knockback. Since they're Resist powers, both accept Steadfast Protection for the +3% def and the -KB IO (and a recovery bonus if you slot both in one power). The Resistance toggle adds even more mez protect.

There's a few defense powers in the set, so you have lots of places to slot LotG +rech, there's a very diverse mix of powers, so lots of places for purples, and there's a built-in +recharge power, so you can spam whatever proc-filled attacks you want.

Most of the powers accept Defense Debuff sets, so there's lots of places for Achilles Heel procs, and I can't remember if the PVP proc is TAoE or PBAoE, but you've got at least one of each.

Oh, and you get tons of spiders to buff with double Assault and swarm your enemies with. Without any slotting at all, I'm pretty sure you can keep one tier of pets out at all times, getting them all perma doesn't take too much work.

One last edit: The only things on your "I know I can't have it all" list that I missed are debuffs and sustainable endurance. Almost all your attacks debuff Defense, and Venom Grenade debuffs Resistance. You gan also pick up a couple nice debuffs in your patron pool, depending on which you take. And as far as the endurance goes, your Inherent increases your base recovery and regen, so not only do you start with higher values, but buffs give you a bigger benefit. Go grab your +End accolades, slot Stamina, and remember to get some end reduction in your attacks, and you can go forever.
  22. The mechanics that you're talking about aren't (as far as I know) part of the NPCs nor the "escort a vaptive" mechanic, but rather, part of the missions. Whiich means that every mission using combat hostages would need to be re-written. I doubt that they'd do that.

Personally, I don't have a problem with any combat hostages, except General Z. Strategic play (and not scrapperlocking) allows you to get these enemies to their destinations relatively unscathed. I sometimes wonder if General Z has a +perception power, because that seems the most likely way to explain how aggro-happy he gets.

I find that the issue with these pets is typically that players don't change their playstyle, and charge forward after rescuing one. This causes issues for two reasons: 1- The NPC has fewer powers than players, and is less intelligent about their application, so they can't save themselves when a situation goes sideways. 2- Rescuing most of these hostages triggers at least one ambush, so if it shows up while you're fighting another group, the situation is quite likely to go sideways - for the dumb NPC at least, even if you can handle it.

Personally, I think that the game is easy enough without the game spoon-feeding us the few challenges that exist.

Assuming that that's the case, you're spending approximately double on the crafting cost alone, and a similar amount to the crafting cost if you buy the recipe from the crafting table or on the market at near-vendor costs. Why wouldn't you get the memorization badge and cut your expenditures by 50-75%?

The only real problem is that you're pretty certain to be repeating content quite a bit... how many Synapse TFs do you think you can stomach in between 15 and 20?
After XP while exemplared was added, before the switch to New Posi, I had a character that I levelled to 10, and then joined a Posi TF with. By the end, I was 17 or 18. Synapse got me to 22 at least, because I slotted SOs after that. Sister Psyche got me just past 25. Citadel wasn't enough to get me into the next bracket, but I was able to pick up a Hess and Moonfire to get to 30. Manticore and a few Katies got me to 35, Numina finished my TFC, and then I rode the ITF train to 45, where I added in STF and LGTF.

The trick is to actually do the missions, instead of speeding everything. The difficult part is finding people who are willing to actually do the missions instead of speeding everything.
