Quote:*Runs over to the crystal and clicks it*"Great job. Here, I borrowed this Crystal of Ice and Flame from the Midnight Club and put in this protected area near the entrance of Dark Astoria if you need it."
*Zones into Cimerora*
WTF. O_o
The Midnighter Club only has ONE crystal, and it's tuned specifically to Cimerora and doesn't go anywhere else. I suppose they could re-tune it to be a normal crystal if they wanted, but I still doubt that they'd be willing to give away their only crystal.
I agree that it sucks that we can't redo the arcs in-zone though. Originally, I had thought you could just go back to the contact to redo the arc, but when I did, I was just offered the story-only non-combat arc. Ah, well. At least we still do have some sort of option to redo them. -
As you say, the setting is there for people who don't want to fight AVs - it scales them down to EBs. There has never been a setting in the game that scales EBs up to AVs. If these enemies are coded to be EBs, then everything is WAI, just like every other EB fight in the game.

Quote:I'd be willing to bet that had far more to do with the presence of four defenders that the darkity-darkness of the team. Don't get me wrong, every Dark set I've played has been excellent - I'm a huge Dark Melee fan, myself. But any team with four defenders should be unstoppable, unless very poorly played. That said one of the most potent themed groups my friends and I had (usually 3 to 5 of us) were Dark themed group.
Quote:Everyone had at least one of something "Dark" for the Twilight Brotherhood. -
Quote:Yes, both should be the same magnitude.Really?...Mids shows a mag of 4 for both Tanker taunts and Provoke.
Either way...it's better than not having a taunt.
According to Castle, the actual effectiveness of a taunt is:
Taunt Mag x Taunt Duration Remaining x Threat Level x Damage x Debuff
Damage and Debuff are not the exact amounts of damage dealt or debuff applied, but rather modifiers that are based on the amount of damage you've dealt and/or debuff applied.
So a Tank using Taunt will have the same Magnitude as a Scrapper using Provoke, but the duration, Threat level and Debuff will all be higher for the Tank, so his taunt will be FAR more effective.
Also, your Taunt or Confront power from your Primary or Secondary will use the same combat mode as the rest of the powerset, while Provoke uses Disable_All. That means that Provoke forces you into the default combat stance and causes redraw for weapon sets, should that be relevant to you. -
Many mez resist powers in tanker primaries and brute/scrapper/stalker secondaries give 10000% resistance, pluc a scaling amount of protection that ranges from about Mag 6 to just over Mag 10. This means that any resistable mez that goes over your protection level is likely to only affect you for one server tick.
As I recall it, the mez resist cap used to be 100%, meaning that durations were cut in half when the cap was reached.
And no, the mez resit cap is not "protection". Protection prevents the mez from ever affecting you, much like Defense stops an attack. Mez Resistance, like Damage Resistance, reduces the effect, but never completely stops it. While you might not notice a mez that lasts less than 0.1 second, it still happens, and will break interruptable powers, unqueue queued powers, suppress toggles (it used to detoggle them), and will detoggle enemy-affecting toggles (which usually have a long recharge). And no amount of mez resist will help against an unresistable mez. -
Quote:The Controller/Mastermind unlock doesn't show up on that chart, because it isn't unlocked with a token. It shows up on the "thermometer" beside it, because it's part of a tier unlock.I was looking at the chart ingame where you put your tokens in. But thanks. Should have consulted the Wiki first.
As others have said, it might not show up while you're still VIP, but it sounds like you should have enough rewards to unlock it.
Keep in mind that if you've just finished T6, you don't have enough rewards for a permanent IO license yet; it takes a complete T7 for that. That means that you'll need to spend 160 points per month for an IO license or switch to SOs (either with a respec or in a second build) - any IOs you've got slotted will grey out and stop giving ANY effect, no set bonuses, procs, or even enhancement values. Store-bought versions (the attuned enhancements), including ATOs, WILL continue to work as a Premium player, even without an IO license; these enhancements are not crafted, so they aren't considered IOs. -
I handle my susbscription through Account Management on the ncsoft.com website, not in-game. When doing it that way, on the page where you enter your billing info, the last item is a box for the referral code.
Your billing info and referral code are entered at the same time, not one before the other - in the case of the website, at least. -
So many responses since I went to bed, so I'm not gonna pick out any specific quotes.
-Yes, the 2010 driver IS the newest driver. As I've said twice before, the card is lumped into the "Legacy" driver - that means that the card is no longer supported, so they aren't making new drivers for it any more. Assuming that newchemicals is right, and the card is 7 years old, I'm wondering why it was built into a computer that was manufactured no more than 3 years ago. Cost cutting, I guess.
-It's not Atlas Park only. It happens in every zone. Rarely happens in missions, but it still does. It only affects large horizontal surfaces. NPCs, objects, walls, and even hillsides are unaffected. Large stretches of pavement like the screen above, rooftops, and the like ARE affected.
-I haven't gone into advanced graphics settings, they're still on the simple ones. This happens on all three of the lowest settings, though I usually use Performance (and that's what I was on when the screenshot was taken).
I'll check the safe driver list, though my hopes aren't high there. I'll also check the anti-aliasing settings and whether the driver is set to "let the application control the settings".
The debate on nVidia vs ATI is pointless - I'm stuck with the ATI card in all its Legacy glory until next month - I have no money for an upgrade right now. I have to make this card work until I have some extra cash.
Thanks to all who have tried to help, I'll update after I've tried the suggestions here, or have got the issue fixed. -
Quote:I fully intend to, but this is the onboard graphics that came with the computer, and I haven't had a chance to get a new card yet.1) Stick with Nvidia, they have much less headaches than AMD/ATI.
Quote:2) AMD bought ATI(or they merged, whatever) so you would be best looking for info and drivers through them. There should be newer ones than 2010. These forums also should have a sticky for driver help for AMD/ATI.
Quote:3) Do you have a full screen image of this?
At first I thought it was screen tearing because V-sync may be disabled, but that wouldn't explain your character being displayed below the ground.
Quote:I'm guessing it's a bad driver/graphics card that is "drawing" the ground above where the game is telling the drivers that it should be.
Quote:It may be a good idea to do a consistency check on the game and repair just to make sure the game is not the cause. -
So, I got a new (to me) computer. It's a year or two old, and for now, I'm just using onboard graphics. It's an ATI X1100 graphics card. This issue was happening on the default drivers, and on the newest one on ATI's site (Which was labeled "ATI Legacy Driver", and dated late 2010).
Basically, anywhere the camera goes, the ground bulges up. Depending on the placement and orientation of the camera, it can result in my character and other nearby players, NPCs and objects to be completely obscured.
Before yesterday, I haven't used a non-nVidia card in over a decade, so I don't know if this is a known issue, or if there's an easy workaround. Any insight would be appreciated. -
Crab Spider!
Almost all your attacks have -def, including one or two AoEs that are perfect homes for Achilles' Heel procs. Frenzy, being PBAoE, can take BOTH -Resist procs. Venom Grenade adds more -Resist. Go Leviathan for an epic to get Arctic Breath to apply MORE -Resist. Bile Spray is also nice for it's pure Toxic damage, which is rarely resisted.
Several Interface Abilities carry some form of debuff, which can handily be stacked to their limits with all the AoE you can dish out.
In addition, you can stack up to two each of Maneuvers, Tactics and Assault on your teammates. -
Quote:I see Pocket D as LENGTHENING the trip, not shortening it.I completely forgot I had one! That would shave a pretty significant chunk of time off.
Of course, in the spirit of Worst Case Scenario, twelve minutes is still a pretty good ballpark for someone who has nothing more than sprint and some temp powers.
Less, of course, since as I think on it, even without the Pocket D porter you can catch the truck to the D in Shark and skip Indy faster than you can get to Janus anyway.
This is a very connected game we have here.
Thorn Tree -> Ferry -> Cap North -> RWZ -> Peregrine -> FBZ
Pocket D takes you to Kings Row, and Faultline (useless for a trip to the Shard), Founders (run halfway across the zone to get to the Vanguard Base, zone to RWZ, zone to PI), or Talos (run across the zone, take ship to PI).
If you're porting to the D, it will shave time off the trip, but since the challenge included not using Ouro to get blueside, I'd assume all porters are off-limits.
Otherwise, the trip takes 15 seconds + zoning time + flying across one zone (Mission Teleporter + a blue friend in the right zone and a repeatable mission contact). -

LotGs are 200 merits. Only Uniques go over the 200 merit price point.

This is the relevant part:
Quote:Basically, he's decided to only play on one server, but has characters on others. Without unlocking those characters (and spending slots on those servers that he'll never use again), he can't move them.apparently he can't be transferred without me unlocking a slot on the server that I don't want to play on without me wasting a global slot on a server i don't intend to use again.
Clear as mud? -
Quote:You've misread the question, Agge.Yes.
In order to move a character, the target server must have an open slot to place the character.
You can use your global slots on Virtue.
What the OP is saying is that you can't move a locked character. Period. At all.
You have to first unlock the character (using a global slot if you have no server slots on that server), then unlock a slot on the destination server if you don't have one already there.
It's stupid, but non-VIPs need to spend two server slots to move a character. -
Apparently, yes. When I sent in a support ticket about it, I was told that it was working as intended.
Of course, the GM told me that I have to buy a slot on the destination server, and that there was no way for me to move the slot along with the character, neither of which was what I was asking about. We went back and forth several times before I concluded that the GM was useless, and it was less of a headache to just use one of the extra slots I had to unlock the character twice - once on each server.
Since that doesn't seem to be an option for you, here's an alternate one: Next month, don't pay on your main account, and subscribe the second. If the second hasn't been VIP within the last 90 days, you can send yourself a referral code and use it on the second account. That account will get a bonus 500 points when it subscribes, and the referring account (your main one) will get a free month of game time. You'll spend the same amount of money, be able to move the character, and get some bonus points. -
If your intention is to make money, the best thing to buy varies; ask in the Market forums for help with that.
If your intention is to help with your own builds, just watch for things that cost more than you want to spend in Inf, and buy those with Merits instead.
The level slider ONLY works for direct purchases, and when you buy a specific recipe, it will come at the level selected. If you choose a level that the recipe doesn't exist at (for example looking for LotG at level 20 or Touch of Death at 50), the recipe will not show up on your list.
Random rolls will always be generated at your current XP level (changing your combat level by sidekicking or exemplaring, or having a Security/Threat level that's different from your XP level because you haven't trained will NOT alter the recipe rolls). If you generate a recipe by random roll that doesn't exist at your level, you will get the highest level it exists at (if you are above its level range) or the lowest it exists at (if you are lower). -
I thought only Longbow Eagles had that power, but since certain members of the Cabal are ranged fliers, that makes a lot of sense. Also, it explains why they do that annoying thing where they fly up to you, then run away before they even attack - just like Eagles.
EDIT: The wiki article only mentions Eagles and Cabal. What other enemies have Positioning? -
Quote:I don't know if Zwill was using macros and waiting in between to avoid spamming, or if those long pauses were because he was typing everything out, but on Victory, he didn't even mention the price. To the best of my memory, his spiel was "Come on down to Atlas Park for a Flying Disc Party! We'll be tossing flying discs around in front of Miss Liberty for the next while, and the best part is that you don't even need to buy the power!"What I clearly remember reading was "buy it in the market for 250PP". If there was more and I missed it because I was in a mission having a disagreement with Hellions, I apologize.
(But, while I hope some ppl enjoy it, unless it was the side effect of some new powerset development, I for one have no understanding why time/effort was spent to develop it.)
I never went to Atlas, so I don't know if he mentioned the price in his Broadcast chat, but he definitely didn't mention any more that "available now on the Paragon Market" in Admin. And he DID say that you DON'T need to buy the power. -

Quote:No need to sugar coat it. People like me, our computers suck. Hell, I WANT a computer that sucks. It would be an upgrade. They don't. Players with crappy computers, sorry, computers not up to the task of playing the game,
Quote:still have the same problems and still blame everything on the game rather than their own system.
But my boss is giving me a fairly recent computer he has that just needs a replacement hard drive (which I have multiples of). With luck, I'll be upgrading from "craptastic" to "Holy Crap! There's more than three polygons in a Hellion?" by the end of the week.
I will miss seeing Hellion textures stretched across giant triangles though. That is still funny every time I see it. -
I'm really not sure why comments like this keep popping up in both the forums and the game.
The devs and community reps have never said that Staff Melee or Beast Mastery would release with Issue 22; they've said that they would release DURING Issue 22.
When asked for clarification, it was said that that means that the power sets will be released after Issue 22's release date, but before Issue 23.
Furthermore, they've outright said that the three Dark powersets are the only ones going live with I22.
There's really shouldn't be anything surprising here.
