Quote:ESPECIALLY when you've got a Rogue on certain heroside TFs.Some taskforces can be made a lot less annoying if a few people on the team have this.
And if the whole team has one, then the first player's should be recharged before everyone else has used theirs, assuming the TF is long enough to need that many TPs.
Quote:its a TEAM version of mission teleport, mission teleport has a 2 HOUR rech
this power basically just upstages the mish tp in every way AND works for whole team
i am definitely getting this as soon as i get on today -
Quote:No.I wonder if you could take the prepaid cards to your bank and get the money off them into your checking account for your debit card, like "paying yourself"?
That would solve the whole issue.
I don't know about other countries, but I imagine it's the same: In Canada, those cards cannot be used for cash at a bank or ATM (that would include moving the money from the card to your bank account). Any attempt to do so will be declined.
You may be able to find somewhere that is willing to add a "cash back" to your bill when using these cards, but most places don't do cash back on credit cards (and there's no difference between a prepaid credit card and a regular one to the POS terminal). -
Quote:I think because I didn't get what you stated, that I took some people more serous than they were. I mean no sane person would really want to nerf hasten...
I'd cut it down to 20% (same as Quicknes, but without the runspeed), and make it a toggle (so it doesn't require a crazy build manufactured for perma-Hasten to keep it up all the time). Then take the end cost of the crash, double it, and divide by 120 to get the End Per Second cost (keeps the end cost the same, if you slot for max End Reduction, increases it for anyone who doesn't 3-slot it).
Hasten as it is, is crazy. A pool power shouldn't be better than a Primary or Secondary. Other powers would be adjusted for the same reason: Jab would be buffed to be better than Boxing (Boxing is at about the right level for a T1 pool attack, IMO), Air Superiority would be adjusted down (Currently the best attack in a power pool? Probably.), and probably a few others, both up and down.
I'd also give all pools the travel power adjustment; ie, first 3 powers at 4, fourth power at 14 (one power prerequisite), fifth power at 14 (two power prerequisite). Not all pools would get the new power at T5 - I'd add a thrown weapon as T3 to the fighting pool, leaving the requirements for Tough and Weave where they are right now. -
Quote:People like you either learned to tank in a different game, or learned from someone who did. City of Heroes doesn't require taunt spamming the way other games do, because we have mechanics - including but not limited to: variable Threat levels, Gauntlet, and Taunt auras - that tend to keep aggro "where it's supposed to be".Emberly I hope I never meet you in-game and your the only Tank. "No Taunt?" People like you don't know the 1st thing about being a Tank! Nuff said!
Before Inherent Fitness, I never took Taunt on a Tank or Brute; I never had room in the build. Now, I always take it, but I still don't spam it. I can hold aggro up to the cap without using it, so I only use it to snag a runner or someone picking on a squishy, or when fighting something that must be kept on me, like Recluse in STF. I never spam Taunt except on an AV or GM, and I've never seen a team wipe because of it.
"Taunt every time it recharges" is pretty bad advice too. With a 10 second recharge, it's pretty easy to get to the point where you'd be Taunting as often as you attack, and I've got better powers to use than Taunt. -
Quote:Being able to turn it off would probably require some sort of kludge fix, like going to talk to Null. What might be simpler would be to have Teleport (and clones like the Warshade TP) grant two powers when you take it, just like Dual Pistols and Staff do - the Teleport we have now, and one that's identical, but without the hover. Call the original Teleport, and indicate that it's good for teleporting long distances, like across zones, and call the new one Combat Teleport, and indicate that it's best for quick repositioning and bypassing obstacles, but may drop you into dangerous areas if you teleport blindly into the air.I think the hover is there because without it, you start falling immediately, and if you've got any sort of lag or shaky connection, you wind up falling out of the sky, potentially taking a bunch of damage and landing on hostile mobs, and they added the hover in to fix that. It would be nice to be able to turn that off, though.

Quote:They may change it, now that it's fixable.Got it in one. The Toxic resist makes it a +resistance power instead of a "click heal." It's been that way since I9. I doubt they plan on changing it.
It's actually been like that since they added Toxic resist to certain heals. It just didn't matter until i9. Effects that are the same but opposite (Tohit Buff/Tohit Debuff, Defense Buff/Defense Debuff, etc) are technically the same thing. That's why you used to be able to use a Def Debuff Hami-O to buff a Def Buff power. Odd as it may seem, Damage Buff and Damage Resistance are one of these pairings.
The easiest way to see the effects of this is to find a Mastermind pet with a +Resist power and slot damage in the pet. The Resist power will ignore the enhancement, but the detailed info still shows it.
That means that if you were under the effects of Fortitude or Fulcrum Shift or even Build Up, the toxic resistance would be boosted by the damage buff. To prevent this, the power was flagged to ignore buffs (which includes set bonuses). This effect applies to the whole power, not just the part that they want affected.
You can see the same thing when combining Defense powers that grant resistance (like the Ice armor in defender Epics) with Power Boost. PB normally buffs Defense powers, but the resist being flagged to ignore buffs makes the defense ignore PB.
Now that things are coded to be able to tell the difference between paired effects (ie, the recent Hami-O change), it's possible that these types of resist powers can be set to be buffed only by the powers that they're supposed to. That doesn't mean that this change is scheduled, or if it is that it's coming soon, but at least it's possible now. -
You can also set every enhancement in the build to the same value by choosing Slots -> Relative Level -> +5 (or whatever you prefer). I'm not at a computer with Midz' at the moment, so I may not have the exact menu names, but it's close enough that you should be able to find it.
If you choose a value that's invalid for some enhancements, those enhancements will be set as close to that value as possible. If you try to +5 your build, SOs and HOs will cap at +3. Likewise, if you set your build to -3, IOs will floor at +0.
Last I checked, Mids' will let you add boosters to any IO. In game, you can only boost IOs that enhance the power that they're in. Procs and IOs that have special abilities (Like a Numina +Regen/+Recovery or a Karma -KB) cannot be boosted, and IOs that have an enhancement and a special effect (Steadfast Res/Def, LotG Defense/Global Recharge) will only have the enhancement portion boosted.
Finally, remember that Mids' doesn't know the difference between IO sets and Store-Bought sets, and any store-Bought Enhancements you have can't be boosted (this includes ATOs, though I don't think Mids' allows you to boost those). -
Those cards should work fine.
The only issue I can see is that you can only use one card for each purchase, so (for example) if you got five $10 cards, there would be no way for you to purchase the $50 bundle - your only option would be to buy ten $5 bundles, two per card, one at a time. It's possible that doing a large number of transactions like that could set off their security system, which would require you to call customer service before you could make more purchases.
Depending on what bundles you buy, you might find yourself with a few dollars on each card that can't be used, especially if you are using a non-US currency - the last time I checked, $50 US was about $52 Canadian, so there's no way for me to buy the $50 pack with a $50 prepaid credit card (or at least, one that I can get). -
If you use a lot of Knockdown (Super Strength, Stone Melee, Ice Patch, Earthquake, Oil slick, even the Ragnarok proc), you may suddenly notice a lot of enemies flying away from you, because Knockdown becomes Knockback against greys. If this doesn't apply to you (or doesn't bother you if it does apply), then there's no reason other than Inf to raise your level; as Necrotech said, everything has the same drop rate at any level.
The one place where difficulty DOES affect drop rates is the "Bosses while solo" setting: Bosses have a higher rate than Lts, plus they have a chance to drop Gold Roll (ie, random Merit Roll) recipes. -
Quote:Gauntlet doesn't make you miss. Streakbreaker most often "fails" when you use a low accuracy attack followed by a few high accuracy attacks. Since Streakbreaker is based off the lowest attack in the streak, a 10% chance to hit followed by several 95% chances will prevent Streakbreaker from forcing one of the 95%s to hit. I'd be willing to be that you mix a vet power like Nemesis Staff or Sands of Mu into your attack chain.I must warn you about a problem with tanks, in particular with gauntlet.
It will cause you to miss.
A lot.
As in I have over 95%+ chance to hit almost anything in the game and have seen attacks that were forced to hit through streak breaker. I have missed four times in a row with a 95% chance to hit. This is not a freak occurrence, it is an every day thing.
After dealing with this with my INV/EM tank, I parked my shield/WM tank and I play other ATs where a 95% chance to hit something means just that.
Do you actually have a 95% chance to hit, or a 95% accuracy? It's a big difference, as enemy defense and debuffs will greatly reduce that 95%.
Either way, I doubt that you're missing as often as you state - it's probably a matter of perception. And if you ARE missing that much, it still isn't caused by Gauntlet. -
From those two, I'd have to say #1. However, I'm not really keen on either of them, to be honest.

Quote:Fake Nemesis DO spawn, and they count towards the badge. You just need to kill stuff faster to get them to spawn.is that really all there is to the Nemesis invasion?
At least spawn fake nemesis so we can earn the badge -that would make them useful if not interesting.

Quote:Having a boxed set prior to Freedom's launch granted a token. So ANY account that was more than just a Trial would have enough tokens to chat. It's hard to believe that if you did play before you don't have the rewards tokens you need. It's possible, but you had to basically just buy the box and play for one free month to do it. So the most likely case is something is wrong.
With the launch of Issue 23, the supergroup restrictions are being removed, so that won't be an issue, for whoever it was that brought it up. -
Usually, but not always.
Options -> Configuration -> Effects & Maths
On the far right, you can select the forms of suppression your powers are affected by. Choose "Attacked", and it will show your stealth and defenses based on you attacking or being attacked. -
The proc gives the enemy a temp power that makes it debuff itself. The TARGET is the caster. That means that each enemy can only be under the effects of one Achilles Heel proc at a time, no matter how many players, pets or what have you are applying it.
The Fury of the Gladiator proc and Tanker's Bruising effect in their Tier 1 power function the same way, though each of the three effects grants a different effect, so a single target could be affected by one each, but never more than one of each. -
Quote:Wow. Glad I remapped Z in my default binds a LONG time ago.Z, by default will cancel any queued powers, so if you suddenly really REALLY don't want to use the power you've got queued, then slap Z and assuming you're in time, it won't activate.
However...
It will also un-auto any auto powers you may have. Had Hasten on auto-fire? Not any more. -
I haven't run into that before. Either the mission was recently broken, or you ran into a one-time glitch. Did you try abandoning the mission, then re-selecting it from the contact? (Sadly, not an option if you were on a Flashback).
EDIT: Necroposting is bad, m'kay? Expect Mod13 to show up and tell you to start a new thread rather than dredging up an old one. -
In case it's not obvious, you can use the down key to cycle through them the opposite direction. I never knew it was 10 items saved. I've never counted. I always expected it to be a larger number, and was surprised every time when I tried to go back and the line I was looking for was already gone from the buffer.

Quote:I see what you're saying, and you're right, that is possible with how the patch note is written. Since I haven't tested myself to see exactly how it works, and either of us could be supported by the patch note, I'll assume that you guys know what you're talking about. That patch note doesn't preclude what LN is saying.
He is saying it is limited to activating once per cast of the power it's slotted in (which agrees with the patch note), but that it still checks each target until it gets that activation. That distinction would be important, because it would increase the odds of activation based on the number of targets hit instead of just having the base proc chance. -
Quote:You don't have to dig THAT hard.I can't reproduce your error here on a relatively recent Hewlett-Packard 3-in-1 scanner. There's a few forum posts and whatnot saying "you can't scan money," but you have to dig through Google pretty good to find them. I.e., it appears to be just an internet rumor.
Quote:Yup, kinda like Bigfoot and Area 51, the clear photo with proof is always in some other bag, got lost, or was mysteriously ruined.
There's several links that are easy to find that call out Adobe software for this. It's likely that the scanning software I had been using was put out by Adobe as well.
It may no longer be the case, but the last time I tried to, I couldn't, and the error message was similar to the one above. Perhaps the software that had that functionality has had it removed. After all, that search turned up several ways to defeat the anti-money scanning software.
But hey, thanks for assuming that I'm an idiot, a crackpot, and a liar, rather than the possibility that I may have been right, in my own admittedly limited experience.
EDIT: From what I'm seeing, it seems most likely that it's not a limitation on scanning, but a limitation of the image-editing software. Since I almost always use an image editor to scan, rather than the scanner's software, I would run into that every time, regardless of the scanner, if the software in question blocks money editing. -
Quote:What the HECK do the Dominator and Tank procs have to do with the Brute proc? What I said is that... No, screw it. I'll let the PATCH NOTES say it for me:Incorrect. It rolls per target, but it has a limit of one proc per activation. You can test this pretty easily, if you want. Grab a Dominator (proc is a self-buff) and put the proc in your AoE Immob. Against a single target, your proc rate will be rather abysmal. If you're spamming it against a large spawn, your proc rate multiplies up to "pretty darn good". But no matter how many mobs you're hitting, you'll only ever see one proc per activation.
(The same effect was also seen with the Tanker ATO when the gauntlet bug was in place. Pounding on a single target, I was getting only 50% proc rate, but when I was surrounded by enemies, I never saw it fail to proc.)

Quote:But... The F1-F5 keys are MARKED on the inspiration tray!Recently after 8 years of playing I learned that if you clicked the first for F keys your character will eat an insp, yes that is truly sad but what are some features that the game offers that you had no idea about?
How did you miss that for 8 years?
EDIT: Yes, I am using a texture pack to reskin the insps. The key labels are still there, even without it. -
Quote:Yes, but you won't like it.Or, alternately, is there any way to view what I have bought from there?
Type /mypurchases and watch your chat window be spammed with unreadable garbage. Then type /copychat Global (replace Global if the output goes to a different tab). Then, open a text editor and paste the clipboard into it. If you can read around the HTML, great. If not, save the file with a .htm extension, and open it in a web browser. It's still a bit cryptic, but you can figure out what you've got from there.
