OK, that flag is usually only applied to heals that carry Toxic Resist. Does Recon have the toxic bonus? If so, I didn't know that.
-
To clear up Electora's reply:
It is on all the time. If you exemplar down, you keep the benefit, even if you lose the power it was slotted in as long as you do not exemplar more than 3 levels below the IO.
If you take Combat Jumping at level 49, and put a level 25 -KB IO in it, you would have the protection exemplared down to 22, but lose it if exemplared to 21 or lower. -
To dirkstrange: +Heal set bonuses only affect Heals, not Regen powers and not +Max HP powers.
Some Heals are flagged to ignore buffs and enhancements, this can be checked on the detailed info on your enhancement screen.
The only power in the Willpower set that benefits from +Heal is Reconstruction, which is only available in the Stalker version. Your Scrapper would get no benefit from +Heal. -
If the special IO functions as a set bonus, you have it as long as you do not exemp more than 3 levels below the power.
If the special IO is triggered by using the power, it functions at any level, as long as you still have the power.
Whether or not the IO is Unique has no bearing whatsoever on the above.
PVP IOs function like purples, so the +3% def bonus should function at any level. -
The MA window is resizable. Up in the top right corner is an X to close it. Beside it is a button that will maximize and restore it. Maximized, it should fill your windows and provide a scroll bar for anything too far down. Try that and see if it helps.

That was true, but with this morning's patch, they upped the number of ambushes to 6.

*sigh* Well, guess I'll have to see what I can do to make a custom critter that looks like one of the generic Face tailors, because there's NO WAY I can build Glenda with the parts provided. :/
Thanks anyways. -
Another Question!
I'm trying to keep the arc in as broad a level as possible. At the moment, everything is 20-54, a nice wide spread. But in one mission, one of Facemaker's nurses is a captive. I can't rebuild her as a custom critter because she uses unique parts, and they only spawn in th 10-16 range, totally ruining the flow of my story.
Since she's supposed to be a non-combatant who just runs away when rescued, is there any way to make her not ruin the level range of my arc?
On a related note, Icon tailors just plain don't exist, except as possible contacts. Is there a way to add one to the mission without building the costume from scratch? If so, I can cut about 5% of my mission pace out by not using custom critters for one-shot hostages. -

I think the ratio of 1% DC, 1% HoF is perfect.
[/ QUOTE ]
So 98% of all players will be stuck with 3 slots forever? I think many of them would object to that notion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've got six slots. A friend of mine has nine. I've met people with as many as 24. You asked for a way to buy extra slots. We've already got it. It costs $20 up front and $15/month afterwards.
If the devs didn't know that my accounts were both mine, I could get two dev choices. I prbably could anyways, because it would be silly to limit it to one per player rather than one per account.
And as far as making HoF more attainable... If you make arcs that stink, why should you get the badge? One percent of 100,000 subscribers is still a LOT of people getting the badge. Work on your mission, improve it, and you will eventually have something worthy. -

2 is nearly impossible and once you have it you never get another

Where did you hear this? Because it's not true. -
I haven't spent a lot of time with the mission builder - the little bit of time I spent in Beta was test running arcs, I didn't build any.
I started work on my are tonight, but I didn't have much time. In that time, I couldn't figure out how to make a couple certain things happen. Help would be appreciated.
1> One of the objectives in a mission will be "Find the hard drive". I want six computer desks in the mission, five optional objectives with no reward, and one the "right" objective which counts towards mission completion. Like official arcs, I just want the one objective to show up, and clear when found. What's the best way to set his up?
2> I'd like each desk to have "guards" who are searching the computer themselves. Can this be done for a click objective? Is it done by default? Can the guards be given dialogue?
3> Is it possible to place spawns of regular enemies throughout the mission that say dialogue, but aren't objectives or "special" in any other way?
Sorry if any of these are really obvious. I was in a rush before work, and didn't even finish enough for it to let me into test mode.
Thanks in advance for any help, I'll add more as I come up with more questions.
EDIT: Reading Bill's guides, I see that I can link the computers, but it looks like there will have to be a counter - "X left to search", and that the counter will stay there after the right objective is searched, unless all the fakes have also been searched. Is that correct? -

There is an upside to ths too; the enhancement drop you get will be level 15, so if you are level 10 and upped to 15, whn you do reach 12 proper, you are gonna have a sweet stock of level 15 enhancements to use.
[/ QUOTE ]
Enhancements drop at your real level. If you fight green or blue con, they'll be -1 or -2. If you fight Yellow-Purple enemies, They will be +0 to +3. So by forcing your level 10s to level 15, they'll get level 10s that will expire quicker. By allowing them to fight 15s, they get level 13s which last a bit longer.
And if you meant IO enhancements, their level is based off the level of the enemy, so it's the same whether they're level 10s or 15s, they're still going to get level 14-16 recipes on a Positron. -
Hellions and Skulls just don't have the powers to remain a challenge at high levels. Go villainside and run the Mender Tesseract SF. President Marchand's aides (the citizens) have similar powers to the thug groups, and they're a joke.
If they had their power list expanded, they'd likely end up similar to Family Thugs, and they are still so easy that their rewards recently got nerfed in the high levels.
While I'd like to see higher level Hellions nd Skulls, they'd essentially have to be a new sub-group, with more powers (like Helions who have gained more demonic powers, similar to the Damned, but not all bosses). Even so, I just can't see them being stretched all the way to 50. -
Well, for your sake, I hope that the Mission Architect is exactly as it appeared in your video.
-
(QR) - And I'll not be surprised if someone's already said it....
The only problem with this video, is that it's what we all want, but from the reports, quite possibly not what we're getting.
Should the Mission Architect be one iota less than what this video promises, I will personally lead the coup to put Dark_Respite in Positron's chair... whether she likes it or not! :P -
The problem was that he was trying to bind to a key named "numpad decimal" - which doesn't exist.
-
/bind decimal "powexec_name sonic haven"
There is no "numpad" in ADD, SUBTRACT, MULTIPLY, DIVIDE, or DECIMAL.
If the command to be bound has more than one word in it, it needs to be enclosed in quotes. -

Just a couple editing notes:
The old /gignore only ignored the player's global, ie chat in global channels and global tells. To stop their characters from harassing you, you had to individually /ignore all their characters. Of course, with the new system, this point is moot.
RMT stands for Real Money Trade or Real Money Transfer, and refers to the selling of in-game items, currency, or services for real cash.
The /ignore command can also be accessed by right-clicking the character themselves, if they are standing within line of sight. -
<QR>
To the poster above: That sounds like multiple binds hit at the right times, or a sequence of /bind_load_file commands, not a single bind. When you activate a bind, the system does EVERYTHING at the same time. If they can't be done at the same time, one or more extraneous commands are ignored. Because everything happens at once, the only way to delay the costume change is to do it manually.
Concerning the issue with /set_title: You cannot /set_title badgename. I don't think you have ever been able to. You must /set_title badgenumber. Badge numbers can be found on Paragon Wiki, Badgehunter.com, and other sites. -
If you plan on teaming regularly with a travel-less toon, especially on TFs, please keep a temp travel power handy, or make sure the team knows you have no travel power. Some teams can be unpleasant about "concept toons", but I find most are very understanding if they know what to expect.

Why not have a little fun with the game? Worst thing that happens is I get debt! Oh noes!!!! Moar debt = moar badges!!

NO DEBT FOR YOU!
Dropships can only be taken out during an Invasion event, and Invasions give zone-wide 100% debt protect. -

I don't mean to be rude, and you're right and all, IE6 is suck-tastic as all hell. But that's a *whee!*-poor reason for not fixing the issues this introduces.
And while you're TECHNICALLY right about upgrading to IE7 being a good option, it's not available to everyone.
Like myself. Yes, I use Firefox religiously, but I CANNOT upgrade to IE7. I do technical support for several programs, quite literally all the way back to their DOS variants. And some of them REQUIRE IE6 (thanks some moron believing Microschlock and integrating their program with it).
BE THAT AS IT MAY, it means that I HAVE to keep IE6 around on my machines. If, at some time in the future this no longer becomes feasible, (I'm forced to downgrade to Vista, etc), then I'll move it off into a VM or something. But NOT UNTIL.
Compliant code should display properly on ALL browsers with only minimal tweakage. Even one as full of lose as IE6.

If you actually read what Lighthouse said, you'll see that he said that they are now aware of the site's shortcomings, and are working on fixing them. He then went on to say that if you want to see the site NOW, you MAY want to use a different browser. He never said "Tough <poop>, not our problem, upgrade your browser."
And if Squez is still reading this thread, I too hate tabbed browsing. Firefox has options that allow you to completely remove tabs. You do have to change 3 or 4 different options, but it's possible. -
I would recommend grabbing whichever one catches your attention, removing it from your tray and completely forgetting it exists.
Neither isa great attack, the special effects kick in rarely, and you have a solid attack chain off your sword attacks alone. If you are going Katana, the attacks are quicker, so you have even less need for filler attacks.
Any good set bonuses you can get off either can probably be obtained from sets you can put in other powers, so they're not likely to be worth giving extra slots to.
Ultimately, the only reason you're taking either one is because you HAVE to in order to get the shields. Yes, the shields are good enough (when stacked with a compatible secondary) to be worth "wasting" a power choice on.
If you really, REALLY hate the idea of taking one with the intention of not using it, take Kick, and put Kinetic Crash in it. KC has a variety of nifty set bonuses in it. Just remember that it WILL change the Knockdown to Knockback, so whenever it triggers, remember to hit your bind that says "This. Is. SPARTA!"
Seriously though, don't worry about which you take. It's just filler.
