Quote:By "getting rid of weapon draw entirely", you mean have all drawn weapons act like a shield and the elemental weapons? (*poof!* it's there)Well that and the 'stabbing-head-with-shield' factor.
FYI, we have seven combat modes:- Combat - unarmed combat mode, used by most powers
- Weapon - weapon in right hand. Broadsword, Mace, Axe, Arachnos Mace, etc.
- Dual Wield - Dual Blades, Dual Pistols
- *Lefthand - used by lefthand weapons. Archery and Katana
- *Claws - used by...hang on a sec...oh right, Claws.
- Shield - Shield and Shield Weapon combat mode
- Gun - two handed rifles. Assault Rifle and Robotics Mastermind
So really looking at 12-16 animations per power, counting the varients for Male, Female, and Huge for Gun combat mode and doubling everything for Flight. To put that in perspective, that's basically a powerset. That's also not counting the massive bloat that would happen to our sequencers from having 5-7 versions of every power animation.
I've actually looked at getting rid of weapon draw entirely, but even that is problematic. The system is very inflexible as far as different combat modes goes. -
After doing the string of fedex missions to reminisce about Hero1, I returned to the City Rep as instructed. She then told me to go visit the memorial. " You shouldn't have any problem finding it. It's in the building here right down the hall." she said to me. Then she sent me to an office building almost 600 yards away.
This was done by flashback; I currently have no Heroes who are high enough level, and haven't done the cape mission yet. -
Quote:Many of the re-earnable temps are at full strength. Only "Reflections" have a reduced duration. In that case, it's the same (reduced) duration every time you get it after the first, not a halving each time. The way that I understood is that you can earn powers like this multiple times using ouroboros and the powers duration is cut in half each time you earn it, so how do you earn it again in the first place if its not there at all? I'm lost. Guess I'll try looking for it again at 41.

There ARE CoH banner ads, that show up on various websites periodically, though they seem few and far between. I've seen them on http://penny-arcade.com though.

There isn't one. The updater is the only method.
The updater downloaded so much quicker because it's tiny. All it is, is a program that downloads the game. You aren't just downloading updates right now - you're getting the entire game.
Just let it run. It tends to speed upover time. -
It was mentioned earlier. Personally, I find it easier to dodge a few Hellions to get to the Vanguard DPO that it is to punch Hellions until I'm high enough level to use the VIP pass. If you're already 3+ though, then yes, the latter is usually quicker.

If I remember correctly, the issue was that the < and > only parse correctly in directly typed commands. When used in a bind or macro, they are replaced with < and > respectively. These codes cause the symbols to be displayed rather than recognized as the beginning and end of a command.
Less technical version: Anything that uses pointy brackets, like <color> or /petsayall <em dance> works when typed, but breaks when saved to a macro or bind.
I don't know if this has been fixed with pet emotes, but I know it hasn't with regards to <color>, so it's likely pet emotes will fail too. -
I, like many others, got all the goodies from the Collectors Edition last month, for $20, from NCSoft. How, you ask? I PayPal'd the money to a friend who attended Hero Con, where they were selling Hero Gear kits for $20. This was all the physical goodies, the in-game goodies, AND a month of game time.
I believe they sold them last year too. If you really want one, keep your eyes open around Hero Con time next year, and get someone you know who's attending to pick one up for you. -
1> Participate in a successful Hamidon raid.
2> Complete a Statesman TF or Lord Recluse SF.
3> Buy them on the market.
Both 1 and 2 will give you an option of Merits or a Hamidon Origin enhncement. Picking the enhancement gets you a randomly selected one. The TF/SF give a Synthetic Hamidon Origin Enhancement, but they function identically; I think that you can even combine the two different types via the Enhancements screen, should you want to. -
Haven't read everything, hope nobody beat me to this:
Any stalker can get perma godmode. It takes a lot of recharge, but you can make Shado Meld from Stalker soul Mastery perma. Just slotting it with three recharge SOs makes it 46s recharge, 30s duration though.
EDIT: Never mind, I misremembered that power. It's 90s base recharge, 15s duration. At the recharge cap, it's still 18s recharge, so it can't be made perma. But a high recharge build could get it to 15s up, 15s down (100% global recharge on top of slotting) without outside buffs. -
Willpower is easy mode for brutes. Super Strength/Willpower is very popular, as are SS/Shield, Elec/Shield, and SS/Fire. Super Strength is VERY popular due to Foot Stomp, though you have to get up to 32 before you get it.
I'm currently levelling a Mace/Shield brute. But really, and brute is good. The question is: "Which sets are most fun for you?" Try a few things out; you'll find the right brute for you. -
Any brute, as long as it is built competently, is good. That said, Dark/Dark may find it hard to build fury on a team, since most of your attacks are single target, meaning that you draw less aggro, and when you get your mez auras, much of that aggro stops attacking you.
If you are dead set on a dark/dark melee character, I would recommend a dark/dark scrapper or tank, a rogue one if playing redside is important to you. Of course, that's not going to be an option for a few months yet.
Now, if you really want to go brute, here's my suggestions:
The damage aura helps a lot with your lack of AoE. It seems really expensive, but, compared to attacks, most damage auras are as much damage per endurance or more than your early attacks.
Save your merits, and get a Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance, and slot it in Dark Regeneration. It has a chance to fire for each enemy hit, so with luck, Dark Regeneration can often be "free", since, in a large group, the proc can repay the cost of the power.
Don't take both mez auras. There's rarely, if ever a need for both. Pick the one that suits you best.
Dark Armor has no Knockback Protection. Get a -KB IO - you can use Steadfast, Karma, or Zephyr. Note that there is nothing (in the PVE game) than deals more than 4, but less than 8 Knockback. One is enough most of the time; if you want to be sure (almost) nothing gets through, you need 10 points of protection. Three -KB IOs (any combination) will stop anything but a Nemesis Staff of AV KB powers.
Slot Siphon Life as an attack. It provides a good amount of damage, and with Dark Regeneration, you shouldn't need it as a heal.
Finally, go to the scrapper forum, and find Desmodos' guide to the dark/dark scrapper. The two are NOT exactly the same, but they are similar enough that you will find the guide helpful. -
Post a build.
Those numbers sound good, but it doesn't show things like how you achieved them.
If you gimped yourself to get them, people can suggest ways to rectify that, but without a build, nobody can accurately comment. -
While I'd like to see it, and other people have suggested the same thing, the devs have said that they don't want to release any more side-specific EATs.
Expect the next Epic to be Praetorian based, and available to both sides. That's the most prevalent theory right now. -
There is no visible indicator. If you watch the Healing Delivered channel (Yes that's odd, but by my understanding that's where it shows up), you will see when it procs.
-
You can also use /up 1 to autojump, and /up 0 to turn off autojump. Of course, just hitting your jump button turns off autojump, so the latter command isn't really necessary.
-
If you can find a name that works in ALL CAPS, but not in Regular Capitalization, I'll be impressed. While the game recognizes and remembers which letters you capitalized, it makes no difference. Roderick, RODERICK, roderick and RoDeRiCk are all the same name.

As far as the movement keys go, show her the Keybind menu in the Options screen, and, if she's up to it, teach her how to use /bind. My girlfriend can't do the WASD thing, so she set up her keybinds, and as she found things she couldn't do in Options, I helped her set up binds and macros. Her setup is, IMO, insane... But it works for her.

It was a while ago that people started reporting that both Martial Arts and Super Strength are picking up color customization, but reverting to default animations when paired with shields. Brawler commented and said that he had already fixed - it just has to make its way into a build.
-
Quote:Only the movement speed suppresses, not the animations. It's just like flight - When you attack, you drop to the suppressed speed, but remain in the flight (or ninja run) animation. This includes doing flips when jumping while suppressed. It suppresses during the attack animation only. The actual height/speed goes back up immediately after an attack animation, a split second before the numbers catch up in combat attributes. Was already mid-flip before the numbers caught up. (can't speak for pvp zones)
Build seems really nice for the budget. I'd want some more hp/regen on an sr but that'd mean more cash. You should be golden.
According to the devs, Ninja Run follows the same suppression rules as travel powers do. And in the end, why wouldn't it? It is a travel power. -
When a badge mission is completed, everyone on the team that receives the end of mission reward gets the badge, unless they already had it, even if they're outside the level range, and/or don't have the mission.
Exception: Efficiency Expert Pither.
