Trials, Task Forces, and Strike Forces are all always run at +0x1, yes bosses, yes AVs. Because of a few issues with the difficulty slider and TFs, the devs set TF mode to override difficulty settings. They later changed it so that being put in TF mode by Flashback or MA mode checks difficulty settings normally, but in "real" TF mode, you can't adjust the difficulty.

Quote:Actually, I think the only "the power just turned on" check is done when the power turns on. The "once every ten seconds" check seems to start counting (without trying to proc) when an enemy enters range, and only tries to proc 10 seconds later. If that were the case, jumping in and out of range, jousting, or quickly killing your enemies would reset the timer before it ever had the chance to proc. It would also explain threads like this one, if my theory is right. It's probably true that it doesn't check while not "active", but I believe the 10 second timer is still on an interval from when the power was first toggled on, not on an interval from when it became active. If it worked the other way around, you could jump up and down in the mob repeatedly until it went off, and bypass the 10s timer repeatedly. That, and the mechanic of Invincibility refreshing itself every couple of seconds would make it "overpowered" if it worked any other way.

It was an undocumented change. I know it was before i16, but not by much. Somewhere in the i13-i15 range, I think.
Don't get too used to it. While many contacts give you their number after just a few missions - sometimes only one! - some of them are still jerks that make you wait forever. -
I haven't seen anything official, but I assume that the transfer tokens will be granted just like the costume change tokens: during server downtime. I would guess you get more on Thursday morning.

Almost. A proc in a toggle has a chance to go off when it is turned on, and once every ten seconds that the toggle is active. The last part is important because there are three toggles that can be turned on, but aren't active until an enemy moves into range: Invincibility, Against All Odds, and Rise to the Challenge. Procs in these powers (including Gaussian's in Invincibility), only check when first turned on (regardless of enemies are nearby), and once every ten seconds that an enemy in in the aura.

Quote:1- Click "Menu" or press Backslash.4. Costume Change Emotes to be definable via option panel, as opposed to having to write a bind for it.
2- Select "Costumes" or press K
3- Choose your emote off the dropdown under your costumes.
4- Click the costume you want to change to!
As far as the random doors for TFs f Please no! We already have that in some (Manticore) and whenever doors get moved (like when the AE was added), they get messed up. Furthermore, the devs are moving AWAY from random doors - In GR, they've said that every building in Praetoria will have a purpose, and every mission will have a reason for being at the door (singular!) it's located at. -
It would? I was planning on shooting for 35's. That's the level I look for when I IO out my toons, and I can tell you from experience that the competiton for that level can be fairly stiff, most likely due to people who look for "round numbers".

What level was the leader of the team you were on? If you were exemplared, is it possible to be exemped too low to get rewards, just like if you are too high level for the enemies?

The reason for the math question is that, here, everything is classified as a "contest" or a "lottery". Contests require some form of ... contest. If you can't complete it, you can't win. Lotteries go to a randomly selected winner.
Lotteries are governed by the lotto commission. The person running it has to apply for, qualify for, and pay for a lottery licence. The winner hasto declare the winnings and pay tax on them (or their value).
It's easier for everyone involved if the winner has to answer "What is (4+6)*10?" than to have everyone jump through all the hoops involved in a lottery. -
It would have been more accurate to compare it to a Hazard Zone. This has always happened, albeit very rarely. In most cases, zoning will fix it; extreme cases may require logging out or even closing the program and reopening it.
The server hiccup just orced you to take the latter course of action. -
Also, just in case you were expecting something like this, the slows from Granite and Rooted are flagged unresistable, so the slow resist Unique won't reduce their effect.

Not directly related to the Winter Event, but the GMotD says, with regards to the free server transfers, "Not all possessions will transfer". Could we get some clarification on what does or doesn't?

I've seen a LOT of questions about Going Rogue lately, so I'm posting this for the benefits of the people asking them.
We don't know.
In 90% or more of the cases, probably very close to 99%, if you don't know the answer, neither does anyone else. There have been no official announcements yet. There have been no details, there have been no dates.
We can switch sides, we can start in and travel to Praetoria. We can have Dual Pistols. We can summon demons. We can make our characters (and the rest of the world)reflective. Beyond that, we don't know. Asking will only result in speculation. -

Freespecs, Respecs from the trials, and Veteran Respecs cannot be sold. This necrothread is talking about the (incredibly rare) [Respec Recipe.1] drop that you can occasionally get from killing baddies.
-
For whatever reason, level 50 recipes tend to sell for far more than level 46-49, even though the latter are almost identical in effect. Crafted however, they tend to sell for similar prices to the 50's.
The OP was probably getting more markup that way. -
Quote:Thanks. That was the link I was just about to post. In fact, I'm still on my month of time included with my Hero Gear purchase....nnnno? Hero Gear Kits were sold at Hero Con this year (and last year). They were not the CoH Collector's DVD box, but a bag of goodies, leftovers from when they removed them from the website for purchase.

Don't get your hopes up for this. There wasn't a 2009 calendar. 2008 got a calendar, but the only ones for 2009 were the player-made ones by Master Blade, and they had no event dates on them, for obvious reasons.
-
Correct. I was only commenting on the latter half of Aett's reply. And the fact that someone has to stay IN the mission is a good point that we both missed.

This is a once-a-year opportunity, but if you go to Hero Con, or have a friend who goes, you can pick up a Hero Gear Kit (for as long as they keep offering them, at least) for $20. This gets you the badge, the sprint, the cape, the physical goodies, and a month of game time. As far as the changes to your account are concerned, it's identical to getting a Collector's Edition.
