  1. Perhaps I misunderstood. Since Yomo said "Standard IO" and "Purple" in the same sentence, I took that to mean "Purple common IO" or a Def IO.
  2. It's an overview, not patch notes. There may be (probably is) stuff in it that wasn't listed. That may or may not include new proliferation.

Badgers. They want to get Field Crafter, and they want it now, and they have to craft hundreds of IO to do it. That means that they have to find somewhere to store them, delete them, or price them to sell now.

Depending on how much of a markup I can make off them, I tend to do a mix of all three.

Bad idea. I'd say stick a few UXBs in the RWZ, make the Heavies that sometimes spawn there count and bingo. Problem solved.
You didn't even read my post, did you?

MAKE THEM LIKE THE RULARUU WEAPONS

In other words, any one of the options I listed, not all of them.

Yes, two of the options would be limited to level 45+ characters. The option for raids would still exist. And "one or two other options" because I couldn't think of any other appropriate badges, except maybe the monkey badge. And as others have said, that's probably too easy. All you'd need is a level 50 friend and 20 minutes in PI while the friend AOEs monkeys, and you could have it at level 1.
  5. It should be made like the Rularuu weapons: Tied to multiple different badges and souvenirs. The existing one, the one for U'kon Gr'ai, the souvenir for the end of the last RWZ arc, the badge for completing the Lady Grey TF, and maybe one or two others.
  6. If you want an easy to remember cosmetic surgeon, either go to Pocket D and talk to Trina (if you have the Good vs Evil edition), or go to Cap or Atlas and use the Vanguard DPO to enter the War Zone (other entrances work, of course; those two are the lowest level), and find the tailor amongst all the contacts in the center of the base.
  7. The last time I bid creeped, I paid 100 million for a 10-12 million Inf recipe.

More bids = more chances to add an extra zero.
  8. Magi's right (is it wrong that I always read his name as "Magi Kwand"?). You can't say which Epic is best for any AT without knowing which primary and secondary you're working with.

Energy is a good set. Brutes live or die by their blue bar, so the endurance powers can be a godsend. But some don't really need it. The blasts are great, but so are the blasts in other sets, and not everyone needs or wants more attacks.

For Energy/Inv, Energy Mastery is both an effective and thematic choice. But before you go respeccing, go buy a Plasmatic Taser recipe and craft it. I think you'll like it. Energy Torrent is the same thing, but Knockdown instead of Knockback.

    Purple Drop Rate

Hence the price of your average purple on my server has doubled in the past month. Even the formerly cheap "proc" purples that were selling for 30 to 50 million pre expansion are now selling for 300 to 400 million.
My intuition tells me that a new expansion came out recently, with four new powersets and six new zones, all of which are available to new characters only, and that these new characters can't leave the new area early.

My intuition also tells me that those characters that were created on the first days of the expansion started hitting 50 in fairly large numbers a few weeks ago, and new ones are still hitting 50 every day, in larger numbers than was previously normal.

My intuition tells me that a lot of people are running midlevel content, since their new characters are too low level for endgame stuff: I see more Citadel and Manticore TFs forming than anything else on my server.

Since there's all this low-mid level content being run, and a ton of new 50s looking for purples, my intuition tells me that the laws of supply and demand suggest that purple prices will go up, much like they have every time a new set has come out.

Intuition can be based on logic, or bat **** crazy conspiracy theories. I picked logic. Which did you choose?

  11. Another side effect of switching that I've never seen mentioned - You stop earning Prestige. It's exactly as if you've been forced out of SG mode, and the button greys out so that you can't reenter SG mode.
  12. I started about a week before Issue 10. A friend of mine has changed her global every time a global name change has been offered. She's had four different globals since I started, and I'm fairly certain she used the automatic one everyone gets to change to the global she had when I met her.

That means we've had at least three, and possibly four changes since Issue 10.
  13. 2 hours one day for patch.
2 hours another day for maint.
Neither one affects my play time at all, or I only lose a bit.

4 hours for patch and maint.
I don't get to play at all that day.

I know which option I would pick.

    1. In most MMOs, crafting is not as accessible as it is in ours. You need to have certain skills, which normally you can only pick some of rather than all, and must train up to the level needed to craft the items. Therefore, the ability to craft the item comes at a premium. While that's not true in this game, some people expect it anyways, so prices go up.

    2. If there's only one available, price can be pushed up. By buying all the recipes and crafting them all, it's possible to spike prices.

    3. Many people don't compare crafted vs. uncrafted prices, so aren't aware of the discrepancies.

    And many other reasons.
  15. He's not a brute.

    Brutes don't get Broadsword.

I don't have the power, I'm doing a theoretical build that I might be following up on. So I need to know how that power works before I commit to it.

    SPOILERS FOLLOW!

The results of Rikti/Rikti mating is a normal (by our standards) human. The change happens during childhood. I'm unsure if the lore states whether Rikti children are modified by an external source, or if they automatically undergo the change from human to Rikti as they age, but they do start out the same as we do. That's why, in a couple arcs, Rikti refer to normal humans as "the birth form".

Since the Lost are just Rikti that have undergone the change later in their life than "native" Rikti, they would also breed normal humans. If Rikti children automatically change as they get older, it's possible that the Children of the Lost would undergo the change as well. If Rikti need external stimuli to change from the birth form, then Lost children would as well.
  18. How can you tell if the use of a power will suppress stealth? Obviously damage powers will. What about team buffs? Debuffs and/or mez? I've looked through both Mids' and Red Tomax, and can't find an entry which indicates if a power breaks stealth.

The specific reason I ask is Mass Hypnosis. Would it be possible to slot it so that it recharges faster than it wears off, stealth up, and spam it repeatedly until everything's asleep before attacking, or do you have to hope that you get everything with the first application, because stealth drops as soon as you use it?

OK, so how would you rather I phrase it?

My Dual Pistols/Energy blaster has never suffered any inconvenience nor reduction in performance due to redraw, and I did not have to change my playstyle in any way to accomplish it.

    Does that make you happier?

    Burn fixed yet?

You are correct, the servers must be down for a patch to go Live. Thursday downtime is for regular server maintenance. When there's a patch, we have an extra downtime.

    Burn fixed yet?

The fix to Burn was done in this patch, which went to Test 6 days after your first post in this thread. There have been no patches to Live since then. Patches go Live on Tuesdays most of the time, except hotfixes, which don't go through the Test Server since they are emergency fixes for server stability issues.

Expect that patch no sooner than Tuesday, and possibly later than that.
  22. Noyjitat: Yesterday, I got the Beguile power on my Rogue, even though I had reaffirmed twice since getting the original Countdown Power.

twelfth: I've never heard of that happening. That doesn't mean much though.

    Purple Drop Rate

Or, maybe that's the natural human tendency to see patterns where none exist, and random numbers are random?

    Nah.... Couldn't be.
  24. Do you have five (or more) other 6.25% set bonuses on the character?

The Rule of Five states that each set bonus may only be earned up to a maximum of five times, regardless of its source. There are exceptions for bonuses which have the same effect but different names, but that doesn't apply to a 6.25% Recharge bonus.

According to this page, several pet, debuff and mez sets offer that bonus. I suspect that you're over the cap.
  25. I'd like to join, but I'm not as insanely rich as some of you, and am in the middle of slotting up a rather expensive character. Is there a minimum entry fee? I think I could pony up a half billion for a worthy cause like this.
